After you sweep the sand, and its complete. Would you use water and give it a light misty spray?
Yes I would. 👍 thanks for watching
Did you secure any of the pieces into the ground? Looks like just side and middle pieces were connected together but nothing anchoring to the ground? Did I miss something? Genuinely asking.
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes, I shoveled and tamped gravel underneath each step, giving them more stability.
Great to see a low-key guy who knows what he's doing and does it well. Thank you.
Thank you for the nice comment 👍
I've been trolling through a lot of videos...as others have said, yours is one of the best. The first I stopped to take the time to leave a comment. Simple. Straightforward. To the point. Thank you
Thank you very much
Beautiful garden !!!
THANKS ❤👍❤so much for the step by step instructions. Your pavers looked like 12” ? ...I need to do in front of my SIDE door ...and was going to use 16 “ patio stones, but NOT NOW ....The space is only a 6’X3’ small area. LOVE the look of your 12” pavers much better & that’s what I’m going to use .....AND those 12” X 12” seemed EASIER TO WORK WITH & manage.
Thank you. Yes they are 12" and definitely much easier to work with.
Man’s a big fan of one inch of sand, damn
I inch 🤣🤣
Nice work! On my steps I let my tread paver run over my riser paver so I get a little nosing and riser helps supports the tread edge. I also use PL Landscape paver & block adhesive on the tread/riser joint.
Thanks for watching and Thanks for the tip 👍
Just found your channel today in June 2024!! Soooo many great pointers and straight to the point! I want to do this in the side of our driveway (about 25ft alongside) to make a walkway for my husband’s side of the driveway. I have a wide truck and he ends up parking right against the grass. I had NO IDEA about digging down deep enough (at the beginning) until you hit solid ground! So many videos I watched, such a waste of time and talking! I couldn’t hit subscribe button fast enough! Cheers from Virginia Beach, friends!
Thank you very much. I appreciate your support.
Very, very, veeeerry nice!
Thank you
Believe used too much sand in past - was never said to use only one inch and never used the 12 dollar support on side; I turned brick on its side for support
Thanks for watching
On the steps…how high is each step?
It's 12 inches
Thank you so much!! ❤
How did you do the step?
I will add a video this week on how I did the step. Sorry I haven't had a chance to upload it yet.
Architectural Technologist here. Looks great and budget friendly. Cheers
Thank you 😊
Has anyone built a handicap ramp up to top of cement steps? We’d like our brother to visit our garden.
Sorry, no, I haven't.
Terry, when you finished steps, did you put dirt/soil on sides of 2x8 to make it look natural? Thanks and steps look great.
Yes, I did, I will be posting another video soon with topsoil up flush with the 2x8. Thanks for watching
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Can you use this crusher dust for building ground level deck?
Yes, just make sure you dig out all the topsoil down to solid ground. Then add crusher dust in 2 or 3 inch lifts, tamping each lift.
Finally found a channel that doesn’t complicate things. Been searching to do this for a year! 😂
Good video.
Thanks!
Thank you so much. I learned a lot.
Thank you
😂 Nice video.
Thanks
So mad right now. Where was this vid a few weeks back before I started wasting a ton of 4 x 4 on box steps on my slope? Ugg
I have to do this! Thank you!
Wow! You explained this so well. Now I understand what I did wrong. On my way to Home Depot to try this again. Thanks
Thanks for watching
Well done
Thanks 👍
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Do you know where America is mentioned in the Bible ??????? Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!!
Hello Terry, can you pls include the materials and tools that you used? thanks
Tools - Hand Tamper, rubber mallet, small sludge hammer, shovel, wheel barrel, rake, tape measure, some wooden survey stakes and string with line level. A 4 foot level as well. Material - 12 inch steel spikes, landscaping fabric, pavers, crusher dust, sand, two 1 inch in diameter 8 foot pipes and low profile plastic edging for pavers. Thanks for watching
I just bought the Super Le. Excellent share.
Thank you. You'll love it.
Do you need a permit for something like this .?
Not in my town. But you should check with your local council because every town has different by-laws. Thanks
Very good video What where the pavers?
Thank you. They were called chamois blend.
Great video, thank you very much
Thank you
fantastic !
How did you get that vertical step paver to stay in place as sturdily as the horizontal pavers? Anyways, thank you for posting this helpful paver info -- thumbs up; 👍 May God bless you & your family.
Hi, I used cinder blocks underneath the last paver with concrete adhesive. Thanks for watching
That looks very nice good job that give me ideas for my back yard slope. Thank you
Thank you
Just what I needed to see, I have the same hill I want to add steps. How long did to say the hill was top to bottom before the steps were installed?
The hill was 10 to 12 feet top to bottom. I used 8 foot 2x8 because ill be adding flag stones after the bottom step 😊 Thanks for watching,
The steps look great Terry. Well done and yes your arm would have been sore if you would have drove those lag screws by hand 😮🥴😂. Have a great one 👍🏻🙋🏼♂️🙂
Thank you 😊
Looks great guys!!
Thats nice
Thank you
Looks awesome!
Thanks bud 👍
I❤ the video, very detailed! Great job
Thank you very much.
What is supporting the pavers that make up the step? Also noticed these step pavers were behind the pavers making up the risers. Found this odd.
I have concrete cinder blocks filled with gravel under the last paver, supporting the step. 3rd year and still looks good as new.
@@terrymcgillicuddy8056 Of course! I overlooked the obvious. Nice solution.
Great work! Very professional.
Thanks 👍
Mine pop up over time bc of the roots... Gotta redo them every 5 yrs or so 😔
Nice, but that bird is loud! 😂
