It looks like you cut the top of coupler off. How did you reattach it? Weld?
I would not recommend that! I cut it only to see how it works. Better drill holes and change the fluid
Got it. It seems like taking it apart does a better job of cleaning. I see most people do drill, clean, then refill. It looks like there’s factory holes. Most people don’t drill those, but drill new holes. I wonder why that is?

@@nicd5439 yes, but inside of those are steel balls ! I think is harder to remove those balls than drill new holes

Flashing both lights at the same time is alright, when you rich aprox 15kmh speed will flashing no more ( when you have entire brake system ok)

I have a LX 186 with the 17HP air cooled single cylinder and it states in the manual, to prevent contamination in hydraulic system, DO NOT drain or change the hydrostatic transmission fluid.
yeh right so you have to buy new tractor when when trans goes bad . tuff torq the manufacture of john deere transmissions gives oil change interval and oil type for each transmission.
@@garyvisintin8431 I bought it new in 1991 and still runs like a new one. I'm afraid if I go against the owners manual and change it now and it goes bad I might regret it.
Boys, I bought a new LX188 in 1994. I had the dealer install an hour meter when I purchased it. The Tuff Torx went out at 1000 hours. I bought a used one for $200 and installed it, it lasted 500hrs. When they are wear out, they are wore out. I changed the oil every 200 hrs on the Tuff Torx. I average 50 hrs a year mowing.

Naja laut BG ist nur das Messer wie im Video verboten. Aber solange du die Ader nicht beschädigst ist es doch egal. Sofern dieser cuter neu sind, schneiden sie gut.

Thanks very much for posting this, I have just gone through the whole modification process but I tapped into the green/blue wire not at the block connector (which requires the whole front of the bike to be taken off) but via the left hand switchgear wiring instead. Works just the same but simpler for me! 👍

Many thankx to you guys, I own 1100 GS for 20 years now and blinking ABS was one drawback of this excellent machine. Even with 12.6 V ABS did not pass the test. It is also related to condition of starter motor I guess, but this modification just do the trick. Just finished after two-three hours of work, quite simple job, but not for complete novice. THANKS!!

Ganz schlecht mit dem Cutter das Kabel aufschneiden, oft werden die Litzen beschädigt, aber Kunde sieht’s ja nicht. Das ist eine miese Installation!
Mit Gefühl geht das schon
Kannst Dich doch mit einem Abmantelmesser quälen, wenn Du möchtest. Ich arbeite auch nur mit dem Cuttermesser. Bin vermutlich ein schlechter Elektriker in Deinen Augen.
@@OttoSchulz-eb8lo wohl eher Profi, Aber mit dem Cutter-Messer kann nicht jeder Elktriker um gehen. Daher schon berechtigt, der Hinweis auf fachgerechtes Werkzeug. Cuttermesser habe ich bei meinen Le(e)hrlingen auch aus dem Werkzeug verbannt. Es gab zuviele Selbstverstümmlungen.
@@detlef-frankmuller6371 Einem Le(e)hrling würde ich auch nur ein Abmantelmesser zur Verfügung stellen, da es mit den UVV nicht vereinbar ist und er die handwerklichen Fähigkeiten noch erlernt.

Nice job! Just a small remark: aluminium and stainless steel cannot get in contact with each other. It will corrode, even without water.
Interesting: alu & steel? Cannot or shouldnot? Doesn´t it happen sometimes? Especially in vehicles (bicycles/motobikes, etc.)? Anyway, thanks for that note!
@@gufra9835 it causes galvanic corrosion, please research for more explanation.
Simple enough, use a washer a bushing or paint the aluminum.

But I can take it back- Did you notice anything bad upon your using the hydraulic fluid? Also I have 3 bolts (plugs) under there and I could not see which one you took out? Thank you!
