FL Studio is what got me into electronic music in the first place. Before that I just used it as drum machine. Than I made some basic relaxation music. Few years Ilater-about the time Skrillex got popular I decided to make Electronic dance music. I am not sure what musical direction I would go without FL Studio. It is what it is.

I tried to replace FL Studio before but other than adding Mixcraft as a second DAW I didn't realy replace it. It's kinda hard to replace it. Only person who used it long enough will understand why because they have seen what they can do. If you just want to record folk songs you can use anything but when it comes to electronic music FL is just the right tool. I may say FL Studio is the reason I started electronic music.

Layering sounds Example, layering trance basses The whole kick and bass is routed to a main bus with EQ & parallel compression What if you need to use a sampler channel, which cannot be patcherized or if the layers have different MIDI? Instead of routing layered channels to their own bus, they are routed to the main group directly, and for now you do not want the signal in the main input Open patcher on the main bus and activate the inputs of the layered sounds, and set up the FX Chain You can even patcherize the whole master All this reminds me of Sunvox Tracker

Concentrating on sends: 1) Creating a real send without creating a different track Dry/Wet mixing Example: Adding reverb and delay at the same time A)Open patcher B)Add reverb/delay in paralell and maybe filter the dry signal. 2) Pre fader sends Post faders grab signal from the end of the complete chain, incluiding panning, volume, width, etc. Fl studio has Fruity Send, so this way you have freedom to choose from where in the chain you want to connect to other tracks. What happens if you cannot select any other track though? You must connect them (sidechain). What if its too bright or whatever, though? We use patcher, as it recognizes the recieving channel when making a send/sidechain. A sending port can be activated in the output module. Now you can drag a connection from the same input to both, so you can filter the portion going into the reverb,

1. Ghost notes/editable ghost notes (CTRL+ALT+V): quickly preview notes, move them or resize, shift left drag to copy, shift right click to delete or alt right click to preview all notes 2. Easy Switch Double right click ghost notes 3. Hold shift plus double arrow and drag will shift midi notes, handy for chords or for audio clips within the playlist 4. They need replacements for all the plugins they have dropped since v10. They have let a lot of good items die since then. This particular plugin's function was already covered by at least 2 or more existing plugins.

Finally someone collected all of these. The "Ableton" style zooming is underrated. You can also do it with just middle mouse + drag on the top scroll bar or area above playlist. It works on all scroll bars in FL, even graph editors, and even vertical graph scroll bars like in Harmor or FPC.

Only thing fl studio really needs is a passive eq. Something like the Manley massive or knife soma. Handy tools.

What about mixing at 96, 192 Sample Rate? Why can’t it be done so that each individual core processes its own sound? It turns out that even at 96 kHz it’s impossible to mix; one ozone on the master eats up about 50%, although it has a multi-streaming function, but it doesn’t work with such values!

Thx for the hints... I somehow missed that there is no need for the CTRL+ALT or CMD+Opt combo... you can replace this with just a simple CTRL/CMD plus the action!

I basically see it this way: The ONLY key you need for zooming purposes is Ctrl. It literally IS the zoom key. • Simply Ctrl + Right-Click to show all content, then Ctrl + Scroll to zoom in wherever you like. Need vertical zoom? Ctrl + Middle-Click&Drag. Easy! • Side scrolling is also important, so Middle-Click&Drag is your best friend. Great video btw! Very comprehensive. See you in the forums! 😉
