Riding the longest and tallest suspension footbridge in the WORLD!
A little bit of a change from my motorcycle maintenance videos. Been touring for the last 3 months across north east India, Bhutan and Nepal, so please forgive my absence from UA-cam lately 🙏🏽.
But I recently got to ride the longest and tallest suspension footbridge in the world ... The Kushma-Gyadi suspension bridge (344 meters long and 117 meters above the Modi River) in the town of Kushma, about 60 kms from the city of Pokhara in Nepal. Sharing the video I captured, because it was definitely an experience, and I recommend all of you to definitely ride it whenever you are in Nepal!

Waste of 1min and 30 sec. Thanks for the rest of the video tho
Enjoy the Himalayan! and thankyou for the service reset tip!
is the cam chain included in this kit?
No. The cam chain is not part of the kit. It does not need to be replaced unless there’s major stretch or wear.
Thnx
Hello, one question sir that i didn't get clear. To adjust both sides, I should turn left on the left side, and turn right on the right side, or both must be turn in same direction??
Both adjusters should be turned equally in the same direction to ensure chain alignment is straight. Turning both clockwise should tighten the chain and turning both counter clockwise should loosen the chain.
@eazyontwowheels thank you!
As a fairly new owner of a 2015 tiger, I appreciate the thorough walk thru. Appreciate the plug ref part numbers. Love this bike, just wish an air filter change wasn’t such a pain. Great step by step and knowledgeable video. Thank you
Hello from Spain! Great video - thank you. For years I have done many trackdays and always been confused by this topic. I would always go to the "suspension expert" at the circuit and ask them to do the suspension settings for me. My trackdays are over now but I am the happy owner of a Himi 450. Now, finally I understand things better. A couple of questions... - where do I find the maximum travel specification for the suspension? Is it in the owners manual or service manual? - Any suggestions for adding adjustability to the forks? Thanks!
The suspension travel for both front and rear suspension is almost always listed in the owners and service manuals. The Himalayan 450 suspension travel specs are listed on page 15 of the owner’s manual :) As for adjusting the Himalayan 450 forks, you can change the springs inside to a stiffer or softer one depending on what you need. Or maybe experiment with a different weight fork.
This video was a huge help today for my swap from regular bulb to LED. 2019 Indian Chief Darkhorse. Thank you!
Shame about the awful background noise. Ruins a good video.
Excellent! I'll add that to my list for the next RTW trip
Fantastic , but i would shit myself !!!!
Hi there, just need a small clarification. Will the moto torque crash guard fit with the existing rally guard?
Sorry I’m not sure :(
why didn't you reinstall the heat dissipators?
No wonder Triumph wants an arm and leg and your wallet to do the valves Thanks for this it was very helpful
❤
Should you do this service with oil still in the motorcycle so the hydroulic chain tensioner works properly, or should all oil be drained?
I don’t believe it makes a difference. The hydraulic chain tensioner will adjust tension only with oil pressure which happens only when the oil is circulating ie the bike is running
Triumph tiger 1200 explorer 51A what is this?
Sorry I don’t understand your question
Do you have to remove the fuel tank, or is there enough room to raise the tank with hoses attached to change the coolant?
You might be able to get away with not removing the tank fully
@@eazyontwowheels I actually changed my coolant yesterday, I raised the tank up without disconnecting and it worked quite well. I removed the breather vent on the right side, but looking back, it wasn't necessary. With gas tank attached, you can fill the radiator and then run the bike. As it's running the level will keep going down, keep adding coolant to keep the levels up, I had a lot of air bubbles coming up. No air in the radiator
Thank you for the great info. What kind of wheel chock is that you are using? And where can i get one?
Glad the video was helpful! As for the wheel chock, I bought it at my local hardware store. But you can find many on Amazon
Well common sense would dictate, if we forget the service manual for a second, and rely on physics, the air in any closed circuit water system will always migrate to the highest point. With that in mind all we would have to do is get the radiator cap to be the highest point of the system in order to bleed all the air. If we parked the bike at a 20 degree uphill angle and leaned it toward the right side by 20 degrees the rad cap would almost certainly be the highest point of the circuit. Then fill the rad, put the cap on and run the bike for 30 seconds, take the cap off, fill it again, cap on and run for 30 seconds etc etc until all the air had been bled out of the rad. This way the tank could also stay on. I know this because I have removed the left rad side covers and rad cap to visually check my coolant level before. Might have to use a squeegy bottle with a pipe into it in order to get the coolant into the rad. Official Triumph coolant comes premixed in the bottle, so just drill a 5.5mm hole in the cap and feed a 6mm polyurethane or silicone pipe through the cap into the bottle and squeeze the coolant into the rad. Only down side to this exercise I can see is that it will almost certainly require 2 people to perform unless someone can figure out a way to keep the bike at that angle while getting on and off it to open the rad cap and top up the rad each time.
Good explanation sir, clear cut
Nicely Explained!!
Thank you much appreciated 🙏
Salam alaykoum brother good job baraka allaho fik
Very helpful
Thank you, very helpful indeed.
Thank you
Awesome ❤
need a help. can you suggest in which preload point I should set my him 450 when I'm riding with my pillion and luggage? ( rider+ pillion weight ~ 150kg)
With luggage and pillion, I would set the preload to the 6th notch which is the max setting (max spring compression)
Why do you have to remove the fender to remove the wheel
I guess you don’t have to. Just need to remove the caliper covers to remove the brake calipers. I guess I should have named this video front fender and front wheel removal :)
For anyone watching, fill the new oil before putting on the filter. The manual makes it very clear there is a risk of air locking the oil system on these engines if you fail to do this, if you don't know what that means your engine has a very high chance of failing if it does form the air lock.
The procedure you’re mentioning is for the new tiger 1200’s (2022 model year onwards). For the gen3 tiger 1200s and earlier (like my 2018 tiger), the manual states fit the new oil filter completely before filling new oil. You can refer to the oil change procedure for the gen3 tigers here: api.triumphtechnicalinformation.com/handbooks/documents/624329815b05bf5ce5065128/pdf#page176
Great video! I just bought the same model and color in Vegas and rode it back to Talladega by way of Sturgis. Just an incredible machine!
I think it's cool that I have a 2018 Tiger 1200 and a 2021 Indian Springfield. Same bikes, just different colors. Love how good you are at teaching motorcycle maintenance!!
Appreciate the kind words 🙏🏽. And yes, both are fantastic bikes! Love them :)
Hi, Have you got a service manual? Been trying to find one online.
Unfortunately it’s a monthly online subscription at triumphtechnicalinformation.com/. I couldn’t find a way to download it (they make it near impossible to do so). So what I used to do is subscribe for a month (I think it’s $5) when I’d be doing some complex jobs and terminate the subscription after. I’d write down the torque values so I can refer to them later without subscribing again.
@@eazyontwowheels Thanks.
Very Thanks for these good explications
great job, ma man
Hi, I recently bought a 2012 Explorer. The motorcycle wouldn't start for whatever reason. I have been going through the fuel hoses carefully as it was leaking fuel. I am curious to know where the fuel rail goes to. Would you or anybody here be able to help me out?
Oh it could be a whole range of issues: 1) do you hear the fuel pump priming? 2) do you hear the click sound from the starter solenoid? 3) starter motor issue 4) fueling issues (if not fuel pump, then could be dirty/faulty fuel injectors? 5) could be a weak battery? The fuel rail is connected to the fuel tank on one end, and to the 3 fuel injectors on the other end at the throttle bodies area.
Hello. Can I ask where you got the Shock Absorber Bearing 22x26x20 as I can seem to find it anywhere, Many thanks Andy.
Ah I just took the old bearing to my local bearing store and they gave me a new one of the same size.
@@eazyontwowheels great and can you confirm the correct size please of 22x26x20
@@fazfarrar. yup that is the correct size for the shock absorber bearing :) And the rubber seal size is 20x26x4
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us. Sorry for my English, I hope you understand. When do you think you will be able to upload a video to learn how to measure the slack and tension of the Himalayan 450 chain? It would be very good for me to learn how to do it, my motorcycle already has 2000 km. A big hug from Spain friend!!
Awesome! Keep working on your bike! I’ll try create and upload the chain slack and wheel alignment video next week. Also gonna be creating a front wheel alignment video as well :)
@@eazyontwowheels That would be great teacher!! :) A video of learning to "tension the chain" on the Himalayan 450 would be perfect for your students. We will be very attentive to the news of the channel
I dont have a Triumph yet but I know what means such a complete video like this for bikers. Just a question.. is this the same in 2020 Tiger 1200 Alpine edition? God bless you man. Greetings from Spain!
Thank you 🙏🏽. Yup I believe it’s the same for all the gen 3 models (2018-2021) :)
Background music??? Nobody wants to here that stuff
That's a beautiful Springfield! I get to do all my own maintenance now, i think your channel is really going to help ❤
thank you....help a lot
thanks you
do you have a link for the vise you were using to hold the fork? that really looks like the perfect vise for the job
Ah the vise / clamp i use is from parktool: www.parktool.com/en-int/category/clamps. The motion pro suspension vise (www.motionpro.com/product/08-0628) is a lot better / softer for holding suspension tubes, but it’s also a lot more expensive :(
Thanks man
Very good presentation.
Thanks for posting. Very well explained and clearly filmed. Excellent work👍
Great video.
Thank you for the video. I have a 2012 tiger 1200- noticed a bit of dampness or oilnon the boot rubber- no real puddling of oil under the final drive. According to agent might be the seal? Have you had to do any repairs like that? Greeting from South Africa
Ooh I’m sorry i haven’t had to deal with this repair before :(
How is it to install the front spark plug? There seems to be very little space due to the size of the tank. I'm worried that you didn't show how you did it. Is it necessary to remove the tank? In Harley Davidsons, the spark plugs are angled so that they can be removed without needing to remove the tank. Thank you.
Ah no issues at all removing and installing the front cylinder spark plug without removing or even moving the tank out of the way. As long as you have a swivel spark plug socket like I have in the video, it’ll fit in the cylinder and you won’t need to move or remove the tank
@@eazyontwowheels ok thank you
My dealer and I had no clue. Thank you for this information. Very helpful
