The Corinne movie was finally released (before this video was published actually)! It was Amazon Prime for a while, but now is available on Netflix (as of today). Just a note on Felicity. Felicity is 9. It's quite possible that in her household (and the books are written from her perspective in a sense), the family called their slaves "servants" or "maids" when around children. While formal and legal documentation would've frequently referenced them as "slaves", the other terminology would've been common as well. Also, although owning slaves is wrong and was never okay, in the 1770s, it was more acceptable. So in that sense, it didn't make Felicity a bad person or the Merriman's a bad family to own slaves. I *do* think that American Girl should have an explicit warning or announcement in the front of the book, stating that while it's not okay and was never okay, the book does show slavery as what would've been accurate in the time period for Felicity's household and family status. Disney+ has a similar banner on the front of the original Peter Pan movie, and I think it's sufficient. NOTE: I have not read Felicity's books, although I do plan to.
