$20 tickets ,W/ Martha Reeves opening, and coming back for the curtain call. Little Stevie Wonder was supposed to play, but didn't. There was a balcony right behind the stage- I could have spit on Mick from there (but didn't) haha last tour before the stadium era with a crowd of about 5000. Very intimate

Rawest band ever, they sound like a white boy blues garage band and they were one of the biggest acts in the world at this time. For better or worse the Beatles couldn’t ever sound like this

Technically, they took the stage at 4am on December 1st. We waited 4 hours in the bleachers, stage right. It was cold but it was worth the wait. All of the bands stayed at the Collonades Beach hotel and took helicopters to and from the venue. It was a very exciting weekend. They flew to Muscle Shoals later that same day.....

Thank you for posting this! Everybody waited almost all night for the Stones to start playing. They finally started playing and woke up the Sun which helped to warm the freezing fans. Something that I will never forget.

I was fortunate to be there, even though I froze my ass off. Janis, Johnny Winter, the Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, King Crimson, Iron Butterfly, the Stones, an unknown Grand Funk Railroad and many more! The Stones came on about four or five in the morning if I remember correctly. Freezing cold. They let us burn the wooden grandstands from the racetrack to keep warm. I was 15. Got home at 7am, my old man made me go to school!

Song was only released the day before. This is the first time everyone at this show is hearing it.

mick taylor's soloing and interplay with keith on stray cat is among my favorite stones music. the mix is better on ya yas album with this guitar work cleaner, and maybe even touched up a bit after the fact, or so the story goes. so great to hear another live performance of it from '69

Does anyone have a copy of that flyer that Mick is tossing out to the crowd? I’d imagine it is all about their upcoming six night of shows at MSG? plus the rest of their tour dates. Would love to see what was written on these sheets.

What a friggin RIOT!!!! You can just tell they were having a BLAST!! Awesome and tight performance of Brown Sugar - Bill Wyman really comes out strong you can hear the previous 10 years of stones bass sound in his playing. I swear I never saw this before how cool!!!

My friends and I were trying to get there, and we got hung up in traffic. But we were only 5 blocks from Madison Square Garden. Got to the Garden, ran in and got tickets for 3 nights. 15th row orchestra, $12.50. I still have the ticket stub.
