In a weird way, I actually feel satisfied with this loss. Shows exactly where we are at, and that we need to retire 5-6 players, and start playing some of the kids, who are ripping it up in the VFL. Hawkins, Duncan, Tuohy, Stanley, Bews all need to retire. Probably missing 1 or 2 more, but I think Danger, C Guthrie and Rohan go around one more time.Can't lose absolutely all senior players at the same time.

Pains me to say mate but we have the worst midfield in the comp right now and it's just an unfortunate but sad reality at the moment, exactly why I'd love to see guys like Mitch Hardie get a crack! 💪 The defence has been very shaky of late for mine, and alot of guys down there are seriously out of form. Bowes should have started all day and Mullin is useless and not even close to a best 22 type for me. We have alot of issues that's for sure, be lucky to make the 8 at this rate! Hopefully we bounce back and have a 4 quarter big win and performance over the tigers and get some confidence back into some certain individuals and the team as a whole! 🙏💙🤍

Our midfield got smashed early. I'm actually getting frustrated with everyone saying "Good effort for coming back and just falling short". Well yeah, that's all good and well, but the fact we were down by 49 points AT HOME on a milestone night for a legend of the club is just not good enough and we have to be better. I know this club is better than that, we all do. Very 2023 Geelong performance with that one. Umpiring decisions or not, they shouldn't have let themselves get into that situation in the first place. Maybe it's a loss we needed to have as a reality check.

What do ypu think about just having Blitz as our full time ruckman, alternating with Conway every other week or so? Neale could also play a role at times alternating between forward and ruck. Gotta get Neale in the team and Stanley out I think.

Hawkins desperately needs a spell. Just hope he can get back to some sort of form before he retires at the end of year. Would be a shame to go out like this. Thankfully,, our forward line is still great without him. Henry, Rohan and Stengle all in ripping goal scoring touch.

Our younger guys have really taken over, which is a great sign going forward. Duncan, C Guthrie, STANLEY, Hawkins looking well off the pace. Even Blicavs not having a great year. Rohan the outlier looking as sharp as ever.

I think we took them too easy. We were just not prepared for an avalanche like that and were shell shocked.

A lot of our older guys looked really slow/had little influence on the game, and concerningly, it's becoming a real pattern for some of them. C Guthrie looks a shadow of his former self out there (although he can be excused to a point because of his long lay off). Hawk has lost all confidence, and seems out of sync with our current game plan. The pace of the game seems to have really caught up to Duncan and Tuohy. Rhys Stanley is Rhys Stanley. Chris is fiercely loyal to most of his senior players (barring Bewsy), but some of these guys would surely only benefit from being 'managed' for at least a couple of weeks, so that the likes of Hardie, Knevitt, Mannagh, Neale, Conway and even Mullin can get a decent crack at it. Hardie in particular has surely earnt a debut, and I am genuinely surprised at the lack opportunities Mannagh has had. Why recruit mature age players if they are just going to play VFL?

We'll be right, we lost to another quality top 4 side. We were off, Dees were on and they still only managed to beat us by 8 points. We're still two games intrenched into the top 4. What I liked is that even though we were off, we refused to roll over and die, we stuck with it and how our chances to win, but didn't capitalise. Can't win them all. Should beat Port next week!
