That light switch in the glove box is factory.

Trying to get the rubber on the glass is a bitch. I put two in by myself so far and am working on the third. Had to stop and watch how again after 3 hrs of no success.

If that vehicle is licensed for the road. You have to seal the glass to gasket and gasket to the body.

The leaking did you ever fix it? Was it the water pump? I didn't know but on my 1950 deluxe it has a drip hole on the water pump, I was about ready to replace it.

It's best to adjust with the engine at operating temperature, "hot", and running, as that is where the tolerances will be when you are driving the car. Since the tolerances will open some as the engine cools, the engine will be somewhat noisy at start-up, but as the engine warms, and the metal expands, the tolerances will come into specification and the engine will quiet down considerably. When you are adjusting valves this way, it will be very obvious (by feel and sound) when any particular valve adjustment you are working on comes into specification. I find it easier "and more accurate" while running because you don't have to guess when the lifter is at its maximum height on the cam.

Everybody develops there way of adjusting the valves on the old stovebolt. There is a much safer and cleaner way of doing it. Drive the vehicle for a little while and the pull the valve cover off with the engine off and set the number six-cylinder valves. Number six will be the hottest cylinder on these engines. Let it cool off overnight and check the clearance on number six cold. This is now the cold engine settings. You can adjust with the engine off and not running. not hot. These engines also don't have to be noise to be happy as a lot of people seem to think. Actual there should be no valve noise at all if the adjustment is correct and the rocker arms and rocker shaft are not worn out. On engine with almost any milage and still have an unpressurized rocker shaft oiling the rockers and shaft will be worn, less in the center and more as you go the end cylinders.

Just take the #1 plug out and lift piston up all the way and set to the cap # 1 wire

The wiper pivots will size up after a period of time, I drilled an 1/8" hole in the pivot where it would be under the cowl took a needle tip grease tip and pumped grease into the pivot, moved it back and forth by hand and it was working again.

Great idea on how you are working the dash.

I've done this before. It's not very difficult. Start from the bottom and before you get to the top, you gonna make sure the glass is all the way to the bottom or you'll crack it. You can see these guys pulling it down. I just put one hand inside and one outside and pushed it down as hard a I could til I was happy.

If I could offer you a little advice, next time you are going to hit something with a coat of PGR (professional grade rattlecan) invest in the plastic trigger unit that snaps on top of the can. They are only good for a few cans but your fingers will thank you.
