Just a suggestion when marking the cardboard. Tape the cardboard up there and tap it with a rubber mallet. The seams will make a perfect impression in the cardboard. That would have worked on the rear as well when you were marking it out. I hope that makes sense.

Have you thought about using the rear of bed area for storage? Use a ford down door behind tailgate.

So... I am doing this swap and have a question.
I am using the vic floor and firewall.
My f100 is a long bed, I need to shorten the bed.
Does the 16" in the front an 4" in the rear work with this set up?
I know it works if you swap the entire cab.
