War in Ukraine: stormy sunset over the battlefield.
I am still far away from those who are dear to me and from my workshop and projects. War in Ukraine is going on and no one knows to which end it'll come.
Being a soldier who defends his land, for the third month I face mostly desolation and destruction. However, Nature stands above and beyond the war, so it continues to give us colourful sunrises, sunsets and other spectacular sky phenomena.
Here is one of them: stormy clouds and a veil of rain through which the setting sun could be seen...

I use two dial gauges to control side-to-side (axial or lateral) runout of rim when I am truing the wheel. The reason is next: the actual width of rims (even of those as good as Takasago Excel) may vary. In some places the rim may be narrower and in some wider. It may sound strange, but having the new OEM cylinder head and valves I decided to perform valves leak test. Therefore I installed all valves (without valve seals). The kz 650 came in third one year at Castrol 6 hour againts bigger machines and had a endurance record for a bit.

Hello. My Zephyr 750 equipped with original spoked wheels (came from Zephyr 750 1996-1999, D-model). However, these days such wheels are hard to find. You may try to find a pair of those wheels on Ebay or find someone, who will build custom spoked wheels to fit Zephyr.

Unfortunately, due to the war (Russian invasion, cruel and unprovoked act of aggression) I was forced to postpone my projects and parts manufacturing. I volunteered for the army this Spring. Now I am at the frontline, doing my best defending my country. Hope one day I’ll return to my workshop and my projects. Then, if I come across Zephyr 1100, I may design a similar kit for it too.

Hi Jack, Thank you for your good words! I am located in Kyiv, Ukraine and right now we have war here. Russian villains attacked my country three days ago trying to drag us back to the USSR. It's a full scale invasion, unprovoked by us. So we are kicking back hard. And since it's a real war around, the question about when my project will be finished is not on the list.
Where did you get this bike
If you do mean motorcycle: I bought it many years ago and since then I gradually modified and upgraded it. If you mean cafe-racer kits for Kawasaki Zephyr (750 and 550): I make them to order.

Thank you! I decided that I'll do it for pleasure. So I took my time and did it without any hurry. There was even two weeks gap when I was waiting for new starter clutch (last moment decision).

is it possible to renew the starter/alternator chain without splitting the cases? using a rivet link for example
Even if there was such an option as rivet link for alternator chain, I wouldn't dare to do so. I'd better split the engine case and replace the chain in the right way.

Sorry for the late reply, I was busy with 750 and 550 kits. Yes, it is possible, yet it is advisable to paint the tail locally to avoid shade of color mismatch. Using the paint code is helpful, while could not always guarantee outcome.

Yes, slim passenger still could fit. However, in Germany motorcycle with kit have to be registered as single seater.
what do u think is it combatible with the 550 zephyr?
Right now I am working on similar kits for Zephyr 550. Zephyrs 750 and 550 subframes are different and so are seats, so I am reworking the tail and making a seat from scratch.
