#19 HOW TO MAKE FURA DA NONO
In this video, I show you how to make Fura da nono. Fura da nono means millet and milk. It is a tasty, mildly spicy refreshing drink common in northern Nigeria.
Ingredients:
3 cups of millet
½ tsp of glove powder
1 tsp of cayenne pepper
½ -1 tsp of black pepper (1 tsp for spicy taste)*
1-1.5 tbsp of ginger powder (1.5 tsp for spicy taste)*
* do one or the other spicy options at a time to see how you like it. Both in the same recipe may be too much for you.

    Thanks so much,@YumYumAfrica, for this awesome ride of steps taken to prepare this amazing yam flour dish. Your step-by-step, approach is phenomenal. I did not want to miss out of any bit of preparation tips. You had the keys to unravelling, why the finished dish, @Amala, comes out shiny, and really yummy. You gave it a special touch, preparing it with skills, resulting to a palatable, bronzy dish. The way it came out was like, wow!!! this is a dish made for the elites, but @YumYumAfrica, has brought it to our tables, by giving us a view on how to prepare, serve it with the right accompanying dishes,🍲🍲🍲🍲🍲🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🥗🥗🥗 like pepper stew as the base, with any choice of protein, bean soup, veggie soup, and the rest you mentioned. I can't get over how the Amala looks, really sumptuous, inviting, bronzy/copper, balls made edible, I just joined the watching crew @YumYumAfricaCookingChannel. Thanks for the culinary ride!!! The seasoning is mainly salt and optional crayfish. These do not need cooking as such.

    • @Joke_Olalekan
      @Joke_Olalekan 5 місяців тому

      If your blender blends tomatoes, pepper and onions with no problem, the very very soft jute leaves (thawed leaves are even softer) could not be the reason your blender broke.

    • @Yumyumafrica
      @Yumyumafrica 3 роки тому

      The semolina used in the video is durum semolina from bulk stores. You can also use the white semolina as well. Here in Canada, we have different brands of the white one and they come as semolina #1(very fine-can lump easily) and semolina #2 (not as fine-preferred). There is also course semolina which will not work at all.

    What is the quantity of the flour please?

    • @Yumyumafrica
      @Yumyumafrica 4 роки тому

      So sorry for responding so late. I generally eyeball the quantity of ingredients used as it is common practice in African cooking. A rough guide may be for one person serving, use 1 cup of flour mixed with 2 cups of cold water before adding it to about 2cups of boiling water on the stove or burner . When the mixture has cooked or boiled as shown in the video, add 2 cups of flour gradually to the mixture. You may need to add some more flour as needed to achieve a soft texture or consistency. I hope this helps a little.
