I was worried I'd forget so this video has really helped. I used to use my grandmother's machine too but that was bout 45 years ago so it's been a while.

There are some differences between yourachine and mine. Mine says on the machine that it's a 'model 45 mark II' can you use a twin needle with this your machine?

I have yet to find a video that explains the additional knobs where you go from straight to zigzag. I’m speaking of the small silver nut on the left of the brown round knob and the three designs that are under the left middle and right lever. I’m also having trouble right now, trying to get the tension right. I have both the users manual and the adjusters manual. It’s just strange to me that nobody covers the areas I just mentioned.

What's the diffeeent between 224 and 224u? Is there any special features on one of them?

My late aunt gave me her sewing machine which is this exact version. She had bought hers in England in 1980 she told me. I got the machine from her only to find out that some of the parts were missing because unknown to her she had loaned it to someone who returned it to her incomplete. It is without motor power cord and foot pedal. I would really appreciate anyone out there who can replenish these parts for me I really want to learn to sew. Please somebody help me.
