Things I've owned for over 10 years
Here are a few things I've owned and still regularly use that are now over 10 years old. People on UA-cam always talk about what's new, but rarely do people talk about what's old, so I wanted to change that!

I've been using the Unihertz Titan Pocket one of the 'latest' qwerty phones you can buy (it's a phone from 2021) for about a month now for digital minimalism purposes, and here's been my experience so far. Link to the phone here but I recommend you buy used if you're really interested: amzn.to/3yxqfZa #digitalminimalism #unihertz

My Minimalist Android Setup To Reduce Screentime

This is my minimalist Android setup featuring a Google Pixel 7A as a tech worker, content creator, and wannabe digital minimalist. As someone whose main source of income is dependent on being online, it's been difficult to fully embrace a dumbphone setup. But this is how I've set up my phone for now to try and optimise for the essentials. The launcher I featured here: beforelabs.com/ #minimalis...

A barefoot shoe that doesn't look weird | Lems Primal Pursuit
Maan I really can't decide between a standing desk or a low floorsitting "desk", I only have room for one of these solutions aaargh
I started thinking and just being(?) if that makes sense. Just accepting thoughts, looking around. Especially while eating breakfast I used to be on some kind of reels, shorts and so on. Now I just sit, enjoy my cup of tee. I dont necessarily use my headphones anymore to listen to music EVERYWHERE I go. I actually started greeting people I see on the street, the older generation really seems to appreciates that even though it only may be a mumbled "...morning...". I started reading as I actually quite enjoy it. Instead of scrolling I read 20 - 50 pages in a book I like before going to bed. I dont necessarily try to fill those newly gained 2 - 4 hours a day (My screentime before, sometimes up to 6 hours), but I just seem to really enjoy the calm and relaxed nature of my everyday life. Im so much more relaxed. Ofcourse there is sacrifice. I switched to a flipphone, I got lost multiple times without maps and so on. Im not as connected as before. But that helps me to have the time and energy(!) to live my life more purposfully. This community really helped me to reevaluate my life-decisions. Thank you! Greetings from Denmark. PS. Did you know, with a life expectancy of 75 years and a screentime of 4 hours a day, one would spend around 18,5 years of his awake life staring on a screen and doing nothing. Gives a little perspective, in my opinion.
This is nonsense, just do some pullups. Dont wear iwatch or that rectangular one, its bad taste
I'm on the same boat! I have a Kindle because it doesn't shine blue light like a phone or tablet does. I also love using analog buttons to flip pages on my Kindle Oasis. I play games solely on my gaming consoles (ie. Switch, 3DS, Steam Deck) because I love analog buttons over touch screen. Even though I have an Apple Watch, it's one less reason to "check" the time on my phone.
I still have a Blackberry Passport (as such, I opted for the original chonky Titan), and the keyboards do feel quite different. The Titan's is stiffer, and muscle memory from the Passport isn't directly portable to the Titan. The similarities between the Titan and Blackberry originals is, unfortunately, entirely superficial. That isn't to say that Titan is bad, from from it; it's fine for its use-case. But it's as you said; these are not video-media consumption devices, and their cameras are pretty terrible (even by Blackberry standards). The main things I like about the Titan OG (the big one) are the incredible battery life - regularly get 3-5 days between charges - and the keyboard. A quick point on the keyboard too is that it is slower typing than pure touch, but it has the advantages of higher accuracy and the ability to type mostly without looking at your thumbs as you type. After a couple of weeks, I was able to hit about 50ish WPM, excellent accuracy, and mostly touch type (not look as I'm typing). This last point is the one I really enjoy. I love how you speak, BTW, very clear, precise, and relaxed. Great review, so I subbed. Keep up the great work.
I did this as well, but will less items. I just use my smartphone for internet surfing, contacts, and financial transactions. I use a PS Vita separately for on the go gaming.
Can women wear it too?? Is it unisex watch
You guys dont need to decentralize, I promise. Delete all you social media apps. I had to get a new phone two months ago and decided to not download the roster of tiktok/facebook/twitter/instagram and my screen time has plummeted
Peso price?
digital minimalism and it's 4 devices instead of 1? lol
Just delete your social media bro. It will eliminate at least half of the problem.
Does it support Wi-Fi Calling?
how do i get every application to stop looking for my telophone number every time i want my password at the library? so i have to go home, change my password, then i can't print the shipping label to return the part because i missed the deadline?
--computer science "de-centralized"
I had the Titan Pocket before seeing it in your channel or others because I was intrigued by the idea of androids with physical buttons after playing around with and navigating on so many android handhelds with the controls instead of the screen Not really a digital minimalist myself but found I could even set it up to emulate old games and be controlled with the WASD lol. Interesting to see your perspective on using it, if you want to know about other "dumb phone androids" there's also the CAT S22 Flip which is pretty shockingly cheap in comparison to the Titan Pocket, no keyboard but you can still navigate with the physical buttons which is cool.
Sounds like you have a serious problem and replacing one device with several devices is not making things better for you.
How much toe space do you have at the end of the shoe?
Your honesty about not really being a reader separates you from the rest of the digital minimalists I've seen on UA-cam. You simply want to enjoy the hobbies like photography, cocktail making and games. It adds a lot more authenticity to your rational, I am on a similar path and found this to be one of the most honest videos I've found.
Self control and mental discipline is what helped me get out of the dopamine hole.
You cannot delete the bloatware because it is actually tracking and sending Information like the old hawai phones. basically its China spying.
I do have more than one smartphone in my possession one of them is the Titan pocket the other one is a Titan my flagship phone is a note 20 yet I don't have that much screen time on all my phones combined yet I use my computer a lot researching a lot of other work I do Titan pocket you have is a very good choice definitely
Nice video. Also, I loved Golden Sun. Actually, I never even played the first one, but there was the sequel The Lost Age also on GBA and I spent so many hours on it and did manage to finish it. I remember really liking the music too
Thanks for the video, do you know the max size for a Pc and i want to close the bag with zip with my pc inside.
The average battery life for the watch is 11 years. The battery can be replaced for a quarter of the cost of the watch.
ngl the camera is wonderful
I did this with my at home setups. Separating pc and work related tasks to gaming and even movie and media consumption. It's nice to just have an area dedicated to gaming, and another dedicated to work so that my focus is where I'm at. I feel like I can optimize all of my devices to do the function that they serve best while having the freedom to have personal expression and meet the demands of whatever I choose to partake in.
Its not a waste of time if you enjoy it.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work. and it won't work. Smartphones make us too dependent on their functionality. Camera, music player, GPS, e-book reader, payments, email, messages.... and many, many other functions. Of course, you can reject the smartphone and live without it, but in today's world such a life is a suffering that no one wants. I know because from January to June I only used my old Nokia E72 and I know what life looks like like that. You can, but no one can live like that anymore. I've seen many videos on this topic and most of them are UA-camrs who have the latest smartphone models that cost a lot of money, have accounts on all social media and then try to convince us that all this is not important and that from today they will live with 3310. They talk nonsense that no one believes them.
Minimalism is replacing your phone with 7 devices.
Check out the "minimal phone". It is like the Blackberry but with ink display. I wonder why you beta males never heard of the phone. Coming out on December 16.
Nothing. I dont need to perform a task all the time. I can just enjoy my thoughts while calming my mind.
Damn, imagine the pain of charging them all...
How about the security patch
qwerty pff, T9 all day
Sometimes you just need a phone to be a phone: simple and straightforward to make calls or send a message. I'm glad you highlighted the imperfections of 2720. Thanks for your feedback.
How is using functional apps on the go? Uber, google maps for finding a route?
When a Sapiens from XXI discover that 80s was a better life 😄
Can I set it up on a oppo phone?
I carry a Zune with an SSD. It's a great device. Next, I'm going to go for a Gameboy of some kind with an SD card cart with all my games on it.
Cool concept. The fact that you're not trying to eliminate things completely but diversifying it to be more meaningful. Liked the part with the gaming console as well. I used to play a lot of games as a kid, but have stopped. Hoping to get a switch lite soon
How are you carrying all of these things with you? I like the idea but I'm curious about transporting everything. Great video!
Are the Nokia qwerty phones like the Asha or E series not any better? Or is this Titan pocket the best out there right now?
A159 for god tier
For those less fortunate who can't go out and buy a new device, just try eliminating apps. Don't keep anything on the phone you don't need. You don't need the Instagram app on your phone to interact with PM's, you can do so on your PC, which is a device that requires much more intent to start using. For readers, just go back to books. If you don't have the space to keep many books, sell them once you're done with them or gift them. For time, a watch is never a bad option, but just checking the time from the lockscreen should be quick and easy and not be tempting to unlock the phone. Having a dedicated device for gaming is a good practice, but having it be locked to a fixed location can help in not overindulging. The only thing I don't really have an alternative for is the Camera. I agree that phone cameras process too much, but buying a separate camera isn't an option for many people.
Mhm for the question: yes and no. I am into IT but not this "bro level" but rather actually an IT expert. So I kinda went into this pragmatic mode to see these things for what they are. From that point I started to use alternative software that is less corporate and really dodge all these ad platforms (I count Windows and Corporate android as ad platforms, too.) on an OS + Software level. Phone has grapheneOS on it, PCs and Laptops have Arch Linux (BTW) on them. UA-cam can be tamed with untrap. Also sold a lot of old stuff. Id's getting back to me doing meaningful things with my computers.
I canceled it and ordered A168 🥲
what is your phone?
I just made the switch ipod nano unihertz titan pocket and my 3DS in my bag
this is stupid, you just have social media addiction
It’s tiny AF and looks silly on my not-that-large wrist.
