Kihoon (the strike leader) wanted Jinwoo especially to join because at the time the gate was measured to be an easy gate for them with no problems, Kihoon is a VERY nice guy and knows the sort of discrimination people show to E ranks and how it's almost impossible for E ranks to make a living off of dungeons. This was an extended hand to just help out who he assumed is living it rough money wise

Btw Jinwoo disrupting the balance of the guilds if he joins one is more of a situation where like Imagine in the US if there were 5 private military companies stationed in the US and all of a sudden one of them gets access to nukes and top of the line equipment, if one becomes one of the highest equipped arsenals it could potentially rival the US military and the government would be VERY nervous about a possible overthrowing from their perspective.

Actually, Anything the Miners find while mining mana crystals belong to the guild they are a member of! So if Jinwoo tried to claim he found the Orb he's thinking about selling, in an A-Ranked Gate the Hunter's Guild owns the rights to, he would have to give it up or be accused of stealing it. Actually, when they failed to mention is Jinwoo actually hired on as a miner to get a look at an A-Rank Gate operation. So when he gets his S-Rank I.D. he knows what to expect when he raids an A-Ranked gate. The Anime doesn't really explain that but the Manwha and Webcomic do.

The anime does a great job when it comes to telling the story but as a manhwa reader, i wished they didn’t over scenes that would immensely help with context.

After watching several reactions, I just now realized the Orc King was purposely hiding its power (and gate) to lure hunters into a trap. Make them comfortable with c-rank monsters, and ambush with the high orcs. Only when the ambush squad was wiped out did it get intrigued enough to "fetch" those hunters. Quite the elaborate trap, there has to be something more to this.

I've seen so many reactions where after watching jinwoo use rulers hand so many times during the anime and be confused on what he did to that high orc 😂

Gotta remember jinwoo cleared 19 dungeons with jinho so it doesn't happen everytime he goes into a gate. And this gate was like this the whole time that team would have been killed

Context Bro has returned 2:10 This isnt on you because the anime skipped a lot of context but jinwoo was after money because he needed money to buy gear (specifically fire resistant gear)because they cost billions of dollars(even tho the anime made it look like his climb up the tower wasnt all easy). When he started hitting the 70ish floor he had to stop because enemies were getting as strong as Vulcan at floor 49 and they were everywhere. On top of that the place was so hot he was losing stamina by standing still He needed fire resist gear 4:29 Cha Hae In is very sensitive to mana that hunters and magic beasts emit. This manifests itself in her sense of smell the stronger you are the stinkier you smell to her, All hunters stink to some degree Jinwoo does not. (yes there is more to this but that is giga spoiler territory) 7:09 Hunters on the mining team are Typically D ranks (people who'd rather not fight / cant because their awakened skill isnt suited for combat) Han Se-Mi's (A rank Healer chick) interaction with Jinwoo she was basically explaining the guild is responsible for his safety as their porter and would protect him with their lives her words exact words "if the mages get attacked its the Tank's fault, If the healers get attacked its the strike team's fault and if the porter gets attacked its the guild's fault." 8:59 Each High Orc is equivalent to a Peak A rank 10:52 He used the skill he got from Igris Ruler's Hand to choke the Orc with Lee Bora's (mage chick in the maid outfit) summoned bindings 12:02 Strong mages have innate stealth detection as you saw in Jinwoo's job quest in season 1. All the 3 mages there are A rank and would have picked him up if they were paying attention. Lee Bora saw him immediately because she realized the orcs had high magic resistance and was actively trapping them instead of fighting out right. 14:00 Shout out to Son Kihoon such a chad leader and the team They just good people doing their job. We forget that this is what hunters are supposed to be doing. Not go around using people as bait.

Btw in season 1 episode 5 u see 3 girls gossiping about kimchul and kihoon.(Kimchul died in red gate arc and became iron and kihoon is the one leading this raid)

I find it funny how often in reactions people forget about Jinwoo's Ruler's Touch ability. Outside of his Shadow army obviously Ruler's Touch is basically The Force/telekinesis and he only get better the more he uses it.

The ability he used to strangle the orc was rulers hand he’s been using with his weapons. As he levels up the skill he can use it on heavier objects which includes magical beasts

I can barely contain my excitement for this next episode. You think the action so far has been top-tear... I am so giddy with anticipation that I wish the episode was already out. Of course I have to admit that I did read the manhwa... all 200 chapters of it, three times... I am really impressed with the way they have animated this series, and the pacing is on point.

He’s not officially S Rank yet. They told him to come back in 3 days for a formal reassessment. Chairman Go told him it’s mostly to serve as a grace period so the hunters association can try and recruit him before the public and guilds find out. When he goes back he’ll get his new S Rank hunters license and it will be public

He is above ss rank at that point and Reason behind the person meet up of chairman with sung Jin woo is he is looking for his successor and he think jin woo is perfect candidate to be his successor.

It's skipped here, but he was already low S when he met Baek Yoonho after the Red Gate. He was able to asses himself against Baek due to his high perception. He was able to tell that he had just entered S ranks then. ... Now after 75 floors of Demon Castle... He is near mid-high levels of S ranks...

At the end of season 1 when Jinwoo is arising Igris, Go was the guy in the background doing the "I like to envision a new hero" speech. Him fawning over Jinwoo this episode was his dreams being brought to life in front of him!

Next episode gonna be 🔥Really impressed with how the pacing has been in the anime as someone who’s read the Manhwa.

In the manhwa, Jinwoo's dad said: Don't you ever step foot in Korea. I'm not saying this for my sons sake, I'm saying it for yours. You will never rest in peace, not even in death. So here in the anime he said it as if he personally threathened him, but in the manhwa it was more of a warning because he's not at a level where he can face off against Jinwoo. Me personally prefered the manhwa's line.

The assessment only determines the rank based on mana levels, and if they’re above the threshold of the machine they are s rank. So basically it’s impossible to know exactly where an s rank fits compared to other s ranks

S-ranks are a spectrum. There can be more variation in S-rank power scaling than there is from the lowest E-rank to the highest A-rank.

Just telling you there can be a big difference in battle strength at the same RANK . Like A-rank Woo Jin-chul was stronger than Kim-chul who is a low a ranker because of technique , battle iq , experience etc . Right now Sung jin woo is Higher A rank , Igris low S rank , Iron mid A rank , the bear boss shadow higher B rank/lowest A rank
