Join me on my little journey of stationery and journaling obsession.
Monthly Journal: October 2023
Ok, I’m running more than a year late with my journal flip through UA-cam postings… I’m going to need to start catching up or this might one day stretch to two years late! 😅 I better not let that happen…
Also, I’d like to apologise that my journal was tilted throughout the flip through! I can’t see my screen while recording and so… that happened! 😬 If you didn’t notice it before, I apologise for bringing your attention to it 😂.
Thank you for watching my flip through, and for sticking around despite me not posting very regularly. You’re all very patient with me 😄.
If you have any questions and comments, do leave them below, and I’ll respond whenever possible!

Unboxing: Kaweco Sport Collection Toyama Teal Fountain Pen
Переглядів 1,1 тис.6 місяців тому
You can never have too many Kaweco Sport fountain pens, right? Compact when capped, the right size and balance when posted, the only real gripe is that, gosh, the converter capacity is so tiny, and it doesn’t ever fill up properly too - air bubbles! Thank goodness the plastic-bodied Kawecos can be turned into eye-dropper pens, which was what I did with my Toyama Teal from the getgo. There was n...

Not all my monthly journal inserts turn out the way I want them to, and September 2023 was certainly one of them. The cover is quite solid, but everything else between them seems somewhat subpar. Was my August a busy one that I didn’t have the time to focus on my spreads? I was traveling for the first few days of it, but how was the rest of it? I should have been post-trip inspired, right? I do...
Unboxing: Parker 51 CT Midnight Blue Fountain Pen
Переглядів 1 тис.7 місяців тому
Ok, confession time: I got this pen in December 2022, unboxed it in September 2023, and finally posted this video in June 2024 😅. Well, at least this means I’ve had a good amount of time to use it and can share my experience of using the pen so far… and that’s a good thing? Right? So here are some additional thoughts I hope you find useful: 1. Yes, after some use, the shimmer ink does clog the ...

I’m steadily making my way through my 2023 journals, with just four more to go to wrap up 2023. I quite like how the black, grey and gold elements of this month’s traveler’s notebook insert cover came together, giving the month a rather classy vibe. And I reckon that vibe flowed through most of the layouts this month - I’m not mad at how most of them turned out 😄. Give me a bit and hopefully ne...

It’s been awhile since I’ve used one of these classic Lamy inks, so when I received this bottle of Lamy Blue ink as a gift either for my birthday or Christmas - it’s been awhile, I know, I’m terrible! - I knew I had to pair it with my Lamy Safari in blue. I mean, that makes the most sense, right? I don’t think I’ve ever done a Lamy meets Lamy before, except for the cartridges, so I was quite ex...

While I’m on a mini editing roll, I better try and upload as many of these super delayed videos while I can. Who knows when the next lull will start! And, as you can tell, I am significantly behind on my journal postings - it’s February 2024 now and I am only just done editing my July 2023 traveler's notebook insert! I just hope I won’t be posting my December flipthrough next year! (I really be...

I was quite on a roll with my video taking until it all came to a screeching halt for some reason or another (life). I recorded this in September 2023, and now it’s four plus months later and I am finally done with editing it… and I haven’t even touched the 14 plus videos/reels still waiting to be edited 😫. Oh well… I needed another brown ink to add to my small but often used collection of othe...

June was a reasonably good month of layouts if I may say so myself. Most of the spreads in the Traveler's Notebook 026 insert turned out quite well and the two matchy stickers on the front cover has me chuffed, even if purple and pink aren’t typically my colours. A little variety never hurt nobody though and as long as the colours are balanced I’m content 😄. So that’s six months down, four mont...

Gosh, it’s been over a year since I last uploaded a fountain pen unboxing video. Life got in the way and I’ve accumulated more than a few pens since then and they are all patiently waiting for me to get them out of their box and onto my desk! My usual self would want to open them in the other that I got them - assuming they have a designated ink waiting for them already - but I decided to not b...

I’ve received a few requests for some journal with me videos, and that’s something I do want to do more more of, but I have excuses why I don’t - time constraints being the primary reason 😅. Since I don’t have a studio setup - I do my video recordings either out on the balcony or at the desk in my room - I have to rely on natural sunlight. Thankfully I live in a country with more or less equal ...

If I were to edit my videos in the order I took them, this video would be wayyyy down on the list right now. But since I have quite a few videos to edit and share, I thought I’d take turns between my journal flip throughs and ink or pen unboxings, just to mix things up for now while I can. Just like my previous ink swatching video, this is my second bottle of Jacques Herbin Gris Nuage, the firs...

Thankfully it didn’t take me too long to edit this video after the last one, now let’s hope it doesn’t take me too long to post it up either. I’ve added it to my to-do list though, so there is hope! I think my May layouts in the 026 Traveler's Notebook insert turned out quite well overall. That said, the colour combination for some of this year’s TN stickers have made preparing the covers extra...

I know, I know, I said I’ll start editing my videos more frequently, but I guess that didn’t happen 😅. I’d like to say that I am back, but I can’t make guarantees. Work has been piling up and I am certainly thankful for that because that means I can get paid a more realistic amount. But I’m just some five months behind, so that’s not too bad, right? Hopefully it won’t stretch out to one year at...

It took me a little longer than expected to get around to editing this second ink swatching video of 2023. And considering I haven’t recorded any new ones just yet, it’ll take me awhile before I get around to posting the third one - and yes, hopefully, there will be a third one! But fret not, I have a few flipthroughs waiting to be edited, so those will go on as usual. This is actually my secon...

What nib is the one on this fountain pen you have?
Hi Nadiah, watching your videos has given me so much inspiration to create my own travel journal. You did a great job. By the way i was wondering what size notebook you used, what is the number of gsm it is and where you bought it. Thank you 😍
Hi friend , Very cool travel journal, a composition of photo and text is very excellent.
Of all the travel journal videos I've seen on here to get some inspiration (newbie right here 😊), yours take the 🥇. These are not travel journals... they are incredible works of art! Thank you for sharing! Greetings from Athens, Greece! Happy 2025!
Hi which country are you based in cuz I’m canada it’s not nothing to get white box for sailor pend
Beautiful, probably my favourite pen at the moment!
Gotta love the Kaweco sport 😄
This was great! Thanks for sharing. I now have some ideas on how to put together my travel journal!
You’re most welcome!
Hi thank you for the video. You confirm it is a nib rib?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. What do you mean by nib rib?
Purple pages ❤
Sometimes purple happens 🤭
thanks for sharing, your journals are awesome and full of inspiration! the speed of the video is so good to appreciate all the details 😃
Thank you so much for watching my journal videos, I’m glad you enjoy them ☺️
How do you stick things? Do you use glue dots or glue sticks?
It varies on what I’m sticking… I use glue sticks or muji’s wrinkle-free glue for uncoated papers, roller tape glue for things that are somewhat transparent or if they’re close to the spine of my journal, and tombow pit liquid glue if I need something stronger. For photos I like to use photo mount tape, acid-free double sided tape, or I’ll use the tombow pit liquid glue as well depending on where I stick them.
My go to for trusty no-frills blue
A no-frills blue is always good to have on hand. Do you find your lamy blue ink fades though? I’m wondering if it could be a weather issue 🤔.
Don't think so, I guess the dye is not as vibrant or light-fast when dry
i love J. Herbin inks, very good quality. Have few including this one, a nice one
They’re great inks, very reliable and rich in colour too 👌🏼
hi! how do you make sure that the receipts won't fade over time? What paper did you use for the printing of the pictures? Hope you will reply. Thanks in advance.
Hi! Sorry for taking so long to respond. I haven’t opened up UA-cam in awhile 🙈. For the receipts, honestly, I just hope for the best 😅. But if it’s something I really want to ensure doesn’t fade over time, then I’ll print out a copy onto regular paper. I use Fuji matte crystal archive paper, although I think its name might have changed from when I last got photos printed out.
Very nice and aesthetic video! Which dip pen nib is that? I always thought that fountain pen inks hardly work with such nibs because they are so thin compared to calligraphy/manga drawing inks
Thanks! Do you mean the glass dip pen or the wooden one (black)? If it’s the wooden one it really depends on the nib (and the ink tbh!) - some are friendlier to fountain pen inks than others, especially those that are not too soft when flexed. I also find running the nib through a flame before using helps to remove the oil they tend to put on these metal nibs to keep them from rusting and that helps “hold” fountain pen ink better.
Beautiful, inspiring and telaxing. Thank you for sharing!❤
You’re most welcome! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for this video. It's inspire me to make my first journey book. So many ideas I love it.
You’re most welcome!
Precioso ❤
Thank you!
Hay can you tell me please which size are your Fotos ? And are you make your Fotos with a Phone Pocket printer ? When yes can you tell me the Foto Printer Name ??? Thank you 🥰
Hi! Apologies for the late reply. I actually send my photos out to print as I don’t quite like the quality of pocket printers. I print them out in 4R size (4” x 6”), and I size my photos within those dimensions, most commonly 2”x3”, 2”x2”, and 3”x4” although it varies sometimes.
❤❤❤Beautiful ❤❤❤ Love this ❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🫶🫶🫶
Thank you!
How do you print such small pics??
I resize them to fit a 4R (4”x6”) print and then cut them by hand 😅
@ ok thank you. I bought a 2x3 pic printer and it works great for me.
@@ginaturney7068 That's great! I haven't found a pocket printer that I like yet, especially since they all only work with glossy photo paper which I don't fancy 😅
@ yes it is glossy but I don’t mind. I write in the pics sometimes too. I hope you find something.
@@ginaturney7068 me too, one day!
Love this 😀
Thank you!
Hola! ¿Podria decirme por favor que gama sport y que color es esa pluma? Es muy bonito. Yo tengo una skyline en color mint y otra en macchiato. Gracias!
Hola! This is a regular Kaweco Sport in sky blue. I think it’s a special colour edition for the South East Asian market.
Where can I grab those translucent envelopes ?
They came with some old stamps that I bought. Am not sure where you can buy more, although you can probably make them with some vellum or tracing paper.
That's a beautiful colour on the pen and ink. Medium nib seems to have a very good flow. I have a Pearlscent with a BB nib and it was a little shocking at first but now I love it. 😇🩷🙏🙌
The Kaweco medium has been a really reliable nib for me and seems to play well with all the inks I’ve paired it with so far… except maybe Diamine’s shimmer ink. It still works fine, but every once in awhile I need to run the whole feed and nib under a tap to wash out clogged shimmer, but it’s quite easy to do and works well almost immediately after!
There’s so many blue pen releases this year!
I know… my pocket is hurting because of it 😅
NICE! And I've just bought 3 Kaweco Sport pens from the Skyline collection. I'm going to test them tonight :)
Sweet! I hope you’ll enjoy using them! I can’t wait to unbox my other Kaweco’s, but wait I must 😅
What do you use to print the photos? 😅
I print my photos via photobook.com 🙂
I love love the way you journal,so much❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! ☺️
Why oh why do you criticize such perfect spreads 🥹💘 Love it! Gonna need to learn to layer stuff as gracefully as you do ☺️
Awwwhhh thank you! I guess I sometimes feel the need to do better, but don’t worry, if I think I did great I’m happy to praise myself too 🤭. My layering is quite simple compared to others I’ve seen, just mindblown by all their details! I’m too conscious of being able to close my journals somewhat flat-ish so I try not to go too overboard.
I’m the same - I take too many photos of the same thing and then find it hard to figure out which ones I don’t want 😅
First world problems right? Life was simpler when you had to be mindful of having only 36 shots in one roll of film 😅
So much inspiration- loved the video
Thank you!!!
I have three of these pens including one with a gold nib. They are nice to write with and very comfortable. The only issue I’ve had is with them drying up if not used regularly due to the air holes in the top of the cap. Nice ink. Haven’t tried that one. 😀
Thank you for that information! Now I know that the ink disappears not because of the specific ink I’m using and it’s the pen itself. Good for using with inks you want to finish off quickly perhaps 😁.
Welcome back! A classic and very elegant pen. Excellent purchase! Ciao
Thank you! Yes, it is a lovely pen indeed. Very classic. I love it!
Wow!! What a stunning journal!! Thank you for sharing! I love your attention to detail... like the vellum tip-in making the photos line up perfectly at 2:07. Do you use some kind of stamp mat to keep your stamping so clean despite the bulky pages?
Thank you so much for watching! I’m a sucker for making things line up perfectly 😂. I don’t use a stamp mat, but I do use a thin acrylic sheet underneath when things get bulky (because that is what I have lying around). I find that acrylic sheets are sturdier, but anything that is thin and won’t bend to the page underneath should work well too.
Hello - I’m new to your channel and this type of journaling. I wonder if you could share with me how you print your pictures for your journal.
Welcome to my channel! I use photobook.com to print my pictures as they have my the matte Fuji crystal archive photo paper option, which I prefer compared to glossy photo prints. The photos you see in my monthly layouts are stickers though, and those were made by companies offering sticker printing services.
Hi Nadiah, I looooove your style and your aesthetics in travel journals. Like someone had already stated before, I've laso spent a lot on rubber and silicone stamps, as you inspired me how to decorate the spreads. I am a fountain pen girl, could you recommend an ink that doesn't bleed in TN regular blank inserts? Another request is, could you make a video showing how you make all those pockets? Or if you've already done it, just direct me which video I should watch. I'm now watching your travel journals flip throughs and I must repeat it, they are amazing. 😍
Thank you so much for leaving me this lovely comment ☺️. Hmmm, the thing with TN inserts is that sometimes one ink will bleed through them and then the next time it won’t. I think there was a shoddy batch and so many of my pages had bleedthrough and I had to cover them up. It also depends on the pen - wetter and broader nibs are likely to bleed more. I know TN doesn’t love pigment inks very much though so stay away from them, but Iroshizuku, Diamine, Robert Oster, Jacques Herbin, have so far been ok. I hope that helps!
@@nadiahkimie Thank you 😘
@@angie_szy You're welcome!
Thanks for the swatching! I am hoping to get this in the sample size to refill a Tombow brush marker as well as use in a fountain pen. Thanks again for the video😊
You’re most welcome! I hope you like how it turns out. I think it could look quite nice in a brush marker.
Lovely travel journals!
Thank you! 😊
Is that a burping Eco? Yikes. Is this in waterproof?
Thankfully the burping didn’t continue after this video 😄 It was probably just too full of ink 🤭. Hmmm, no, I don’t think this ink is waterproof.
I've started watching travel journal videos as I daydream of doing one for my next trip to japan and this is just exactly how i want mine to look, omg!! I hope you dont mind i screenshot almost every page so i dont forget the things i want to include in my own 🤣 (like i have manhole cover pics from my previous trip but including your feet is so cute omg)
😂 Oh gosh, screenshot away! I do that too when I come across brilliant journaling ideas that I want to incorporate into my own journals, because otherwise I’ll forget! I hope you’ve started on your journal 😄
your videos are so satisfying 😍
Hehehe, I’m glad you think so 😄
Omg I love love love this flip through so much, it's probably one of my faves that i've watched. Journaling goals :D I love your creativity and craftfulness in putting together your journal. It's so lovely!

I hope you found it useful 😄
OMG this journal is so inspiring! Thank you very much for sharing!
You’re most welcome! Thank you for watching!
Lovely
Thank you!
16:54 i love what you did here. what do you call this frosted paper? and where did you buy it? thanks
Thank you! Some people call this tracing paper, some people call it vellum (although it technically isn’t). I bought mine online via Shopee but they should also be available in art and office-style stationery shops.
Appreciate it! I’ll look for this on local shops near me. Follow up question, how do you stick this to become an extra page? What kind of tape do you use?
@@airynigagamao8779 No problem! Ah, if you take a look at 6:40, you'll notice that a generous piece of the tracing paper has been stuck onto one page, and then I covered some of it up with photos. This is to make sure that the extra page won't come loose easily. In 17:04 though, I just glued one side of the tracing paper following the middle fold of the page. I use a transparent roller tape glue to stick the tracing paper down. It has to be a really clear roller tape though. Sometimes it's tinted blue or green and that will definitely show through the paper.
@@nadiahkimie thanks for these very detailed instructions. I did not notice that it was glued on 17:04 until you mentioned it. Can’t wait to make my own and apply these tips 💕
@@airynigagamao8779 You're most welcome. Have fun making your journals!
I love this so much! I just got back from Japan and saved all these little pieces of packaging not k knowing why. This is very inspiring!
Thank you! I hope you’ll be able to use them in your journal. It’s a great way to keep them in your collection without actually keeping the whole entire packaging 😄
Okay I hope this counts as a compliment, but judging by your hands I thought you were 30-ish! Exsquisite spreads as always 🌸
😂😂😂 I love that comment. Asian genes + hand cream helps 🤭.
