The brother seem sincere but I think he miss the ball. As Carter g Woodson said in the miss education of the neg$&@ that he graduated from Harvard but was miss educated and didn’t know how to really address the issues that the black community was suffering from. I saw this a lot when I was in undergrad you have these people that go to these institutions and take whatever a professor is saying as the holy grail. I first like to pin tout that black males are in fact the most egalitarian among any group in males in the world. According to raewyn Connell who developed hegemonic masculinity which would later become toxic masculinity highlighted that black men are in fact the most egalitarian among men in the world and men around the world should look to black man as the ideal masculinity. This is why pre European contact African societies were not sexist and women enjoy every position that men also shared. This idea of antagonism amongst genders is Eurocentric to its core and not based in African ideology or culture. This is why during every fight for independence on the continent women played roles as fighters along their men. I suggest that every so called educated black people should and study the work of W.E.B Dubois and how in later in life when he was in Ghana realized that he was wrong about this idea of assimilation to a sick society. Even prominent doctors in America are realizing that the medical field is faulty and filled with backwards practices and ideology. Dr. Gabor mate points out in his book “the myth of normal” that this society is backwards when it comes to dealing with metal Health and that the doctors and psychologist in these fields are missing the point, just as then doctor in this video. The doctor in this video seems more focused on having brothers assimilate to a sick society instead of having courage to resist and stand up against a sick society.I think it’s fitting that they used the term invisible man which was the title of Ralph Ellison book in the 1950’s. In that book he highlights the danger of black men trying to assimilate to a sick society and how hopeless and futile that goal is. In the end the main character in the book realized that it is safer to live as an outcast and not participate in the American project. This idea about men working on their emotions does nothing to address real life inadequacies. This is why black men are at the bottom of every SES measurement and dealing with emotions won’t solve that. I think it odd that the doctor pushes leading emotional intelligence in a society built on revolution. I’m sure Washington and the founding fathers of that nation embraced anger and look what it got them a free society were their women and children can truly be free. if this man was truly effective in solving black men’s issues he would be a threat to the status quo, point and case the black partner party, who were way more effective in solving black men’s daily problems. A doctor like this only serves to benefit a sick capitalistic society that exploits other black men women and children around the world. If we are really focused on helping black men, doctors like Tariq must address there own shortcomings from a place of understanding and realizing that he himself was socialized in a sick society and address how that stops him from being truly effective. I suggest brothers start to read the work by the late psychologist Dr Amos Wilson and realize that mindfulness and breathing exercises won’t solve this problem and look to other groups of men around the world and how they deal with obstacles. Good luck and realize your in this fight alone✊🏿

I have tried reaching out to people. . . still alone 99% of the time. Family sucks! "friends" suck! . . . and the whole world ignores me besides bitcoin preachers or gaslighting bots. It appears I call the wrong people family and friends. The more I ask for help the more I get secluded. People really do not care! Nobody wants to go for a walk, hike, or just chill. The regular public is just interested in a #mentalhealthawareness hashtag LOL
