How hollow do you need to make the sculptures? Are you filling the mold 75%? Or less? How solid/hollow should I aim to make my casts? Does your rotational technique work if you fill the mold completely? Your videos are absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much!

Electrical guy here... You are correct, the motor needs a solid 12vdc ( Volts Direct Current ) to go through the motor. And a thought about your Fuse. 10 amps is pretty high for what you are using. 30w/12v = 2.5a. the fuse is there to protect the motor from burning up so the fuse you are using is 2 times too big. for a 30w motor and where it is continually cranking a load, it is recommended to use a fuse rated 250% over it's Full load amps. So 2.5a x 2.5 = 6-1/4 amp fuse would be more appropriate. When that fuse blows, you know you have a problem, and you are pushing the motor too hard while also saving the motor's internal integrity. I know I'm a year late, and I hope your rig has worked as planned without going through too much heartache. And I look forward to building my own, based on your design! :)

How do you salvage your clay after demolding with the Crystal Clear on top? I've never heard of doing this and I'm intrigued, but I also want to be able to reuse my clay for more sculpts.

Great video man! I have one problem, though. I tried to switch from a common 2-axis roto machine to your 1-axis solution using a similar model. However, every time, one spot is not filled with plaster. Have you had that problem?

Would I use the same steps to make a mold go upside down for cement pouring? I need it to be for a 4ft statue. I plan to make a rubber MD and a fiberglass mold. Only issue is ... I need to flip upside down to fill with cement.

I noticed that you did not do that for this mold which looks so much simpler and better in my opinion than others that I've seen.

Very interesting to watch and super helpful as I have been looking for a good way to recreate this type of finish for a long time. Thank you very much! A couple of questions. 1) If you do not want the white aging effect, but just the browns and blacks, do you just not use the Tiffany Green? 2) Do you spray the completed piece again with Krylon or some type of clear sealer? I am just wondering about the shoe polish coming off when someone was to clean the piece or dust it.
