Fox Glider Aerobatics - WAGAC 2013 Free Programme
Переглядів 5137 років тому
Jack flying his free sequence at WAGAC in 2013. This was a 'calibration' flight for the judges to get their eyes in, as such the third figure here includes a section of level flight which should have been a full roll. Pilots taking part in the calibration flights were asked to omit certain figures, to keep the practising judges on their toes.

Why Learn Aerobatics
Переглядів 10 тис.9 років тому
In early 2015 we visited the British Aerobatic Academy at Bourn Airfield in Cambridgeshire, where lifetime pilot Adrian Willis took us through some of the reasons that learning aerobatics is the perfect next step for PPL pilots. Check out the British Aerobatic Academy at www.britishaerobaticacademy.com We'd love to hear your thoughts on the video, or any ideas for future content, in the comment...
If you want to try flying a Spitfire check out Sim2do in Mildenhall, the Spitfire simulator there is amazing it's the closest most people will ever get to flying a Spitfire. I booked a ninety minute session there with the instructor/engineer Kenneth and it was brilliant.
Smooooth landing.
God bless Geofrey.
Don't put your GoPro on you head. It's very hard to watch. Crap.
I started my aerobatics journey at age 53 and I can testify that it is heaps of fun and you also become a much better pilot while having this fun.
What a superb video! And what a great guy, who really deserved and reached his dream! Well done Sir and so modest and worked so hard. Thank you for this wonderful insight and this video should be shown around all schools!!
Get a haircut.
I will go and get my basic pilot licence in 2024. Aerobatics is what I really want to do. I'm in Australia but I like your channel. Please post more videos.
How is the progress? Are you getting an RPL first? or PPL and adding the Aero onto that?
This video deserves more views and this channel deserves more subscribers.
Amazing just amazing
When I saw the thumbnail I started getting tears in my eyes because the Spitfire is SO BEAUTIFUL
Great story. Similar story to mine. I went from instructing in a Cessna 152 to flying a Strikemaster Jet doing aerobatic joyflights for the public.
Many years ago I was CFI of a well known flying club in the North of England. There were many private strips in that part of North Yorkshire. I organised several rallies to remote strips for members and the club fleet. My dictum was, if the approach is not stable - go around. I doubt whether the insurance companies would countenance such an event today.
from anothee spitfire pilot, people say this is a nice plane to fly and while thats true its also a very tricky plane to fly
Great vid - very inspiring
Looking at what is either side of the approach course Ican see the reason for it. You are just being considerate neighbours.
dobrze że gość, z prawej w traktorze, zaorał tylko wkoło pasa :D
Truly inspiring.. As a teen I had a few trips i the De-Havilland Chipmunk, AEF & aerobatics. My great uncle was a Lancaster pilot with 100 squadron so I have always been deeply interested in flying, particularly passionate about the Spitfire. Luckily my parents live in Gosport, and just up the road is Daedalus/Solent airport where the Spit academy often fly from.. I can stand and watch them all day 👏🏼🥰
those were some Split-S's, a loop, tailslide, wingover, and a barrel roll, right ?
I love the spitfire! Such a magnificent aircraft!
Wow... Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 with FSRealistic Pro looks really good!.... Lol kidding... Real Life is still unbeatable!
Ha! Well that's always been the aim of Get Into Flying - get people offline and up in the air for real. We are still figuring it out!
You lucky man. I envy you. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations, dream come true...
The narrator of this is my new personal hero, if I only have the for forethought and insight of this young individual. His intro is my story, but he followed his passion where I did not.
Nice landing!
Get out there and "grow your boundaries" - well said! Hello from Phoenix, AZ.
Great story, sound and video. Was going to get my instructor a hour in a Harvard when he gets me solo. Spitfire is a bit too dear! On a separate subject what happened to the Blackshape Prime video, saw it ages ago on my other account but it's disappeared. I was going to ask if I could sample with credit, I'm trying to do a vid about CAP 2163.
Great story! It shows that you don't need to be a cash loaded airliner pilot or a former fighter pilot to fly these beautiful and rare old birds. In the world of aviation it is all about passion and people! Thanks for sharing this story, keep living it! 😊
It is completely about passion and the drive to keep going. I'd also echo the point that it's so important to enjoy the journey!
You also need a modicum of drive and bags of determination.
Sportair - absolutely fantastic club at Goodwood with an equally fantastic selection of aircraft! Bravo Rich!
Couldn't agree more Julian, we're hoping to see them again soon. Jon's got to do his tailwheel rating somewhere! 😎
@@getintoflying fantastic - the new Pacer G-XA has to be the most beautiful aeroplane Piper ever built! Or anyone else for that matter! (Supermarine excluded from this comment!)
@@getintoflying love the ethos of the YT page also, I shall follow with interest!
@@julianpratt9616 thanks, much appreciated. We do our best against an algorithm that is designed to reward monetisation!
What an absolutely inspirational story and journey to have! Very well done.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment Pete. It means more than you think as we make our way into the world of UA-cam!
I can relate to this, sounds like something I should try.
Best aerobatic academy in Europe, btw good to see GEEEK
Thanks for watching 🙏
Nice landing
Awesome, one of these + a private grass strip = dream retirement
Nicely done! I flew Chippy G-BCSL for over 30 years, mostly into and out of farm strips. Real fun flying weaving between the trees and flying around any houses on short final|!
Yeah easy to say when this is extremely expensive to be just as a hobby. It is much cheaper to bike or sit in a cafe.
Used these in the ATC on AEF's when I was a cadet.
I'm on the Air cadets right now and I've flown the Grob tutor. Shame it's not as sleek as the chipmunk.
In Germany in the 80's, the RAF called practice pans on a nearly daily basis.
Is this you flying/your aircraft?
I compete against Adrian's students and they are formidable opponents. He's very clearly one of the top aerobatic instructors in the UK today.
Very helpful video. I'm yet to do one, but will next time I fly. May i ask where you fly from? I am moving near Kendal next month.Thank you
Toby Walker (I'm only one of the contributors, but the pilot in the video) and I fly from Barton in Manchester. It's just off Junction 11 of the M60
A noble cause. At my local flying club we have a few under 25s on the gliding side, but on the SEP I am by far the youngest. A big hurdle is the money, and also the mindset that people who want to be airline pilots don't particularly have an interest in GA (or sometimes actual hands on flying for that matter)
Sorry to be a bit of bore but if you are encouraging pilots to fly at a 45 degree bank at high speed with the wing tip 1m from the ground (video: 2:21) then I think you are promoting the wrong behaviour.
This may same a little glib, but there is a difference between videoing something and encouraging people to do it. I doubt many aviators would attempt something purely as a result of seeing it on UA-cam. For example, should we also not post videos of the Red Arrows, or any other low level display activity? The pilot flying in this video is a multi-thousand hour experimental test pilot at a private event. For sure aviation should be conducted safely but with the quality of training that a pilot's license implies, I would like to think that we can demonstrate such flying here without fear that somebody will attempt to recreate it at their flying club. Thank you for your feedback - it is genuinely well received and I am not trying to marginalise your point of view, simply to clarify our position.
Tactical handling and very looking place
Isn't that an old Portuguese Air Force Chipmunk?
Very cool! Great video!
beaut!
Where was the strip that you landed at last in the video? Nice aircraft btw!!
