Scott Bond, complete with dodgy trademark mixing skills. Transferred from a very old cassette, hence the awful sound quality.
John Grant & Beth Orton - It Doesn't Matter To Him

From the "Gets Schooled" EP. From my vinyl copy so the sound isn't the most wonderful it could be, but you get the idea.

Laura Marling - Once

From "Once I Was An Eagle" I obviously don't own any rights to this song. It is merely here for the promotion (and benefit) of Laura Marling. Judging by the limitations imposed onto this video, it's clearly not required to have fans that want to promote her songs, and she's perfectly happy with the way things are. It must be great to be at a stage in your career where you don't need help in get...

I sent this to a very dear old friend of mine when he was struggling after suddenly losing his young wife. To most, he was 'a wild man', but to those who really knew him, he was the very opposite, intellectual, witty, deeply kind and a sense of humour like none other. He passed away not long after we'd spoken about this track but I'm so glad he got to hear it from me. Always remembered. He was truly one of a kind. There will never be another Baff. Love you big man xx
thanks youtube
So amazing 😍 I love this song
Love you Buddy.
The beautiful organ on this song makes it a favorite of mine. Amazon music removed it. Anyone know why?
I like this but it's very creepy.
Beauty
When Beth Orton is around it's always magic !!
Des retrouvailles...une pure merveille ce morceau ... une charge interne une force magique, cinématographique et intensément évocateur. Merci pour 2.41 de plaisir
I'm here from the video about the 141 year old man
The best working anti depressant of all time!! 😍😜😅
The beginning really feels like an Age of Mythology track.
🌅☝️ 360A+ir 😙👏👏👏👏👏🎀 👏🕊🦅❤❤🦅🕊👏🙏
Casual
I missed this track first time round as it was an iTunes exclusive. I love the music, which has been beautifully reused in "When the Working day is done", but in class orchestral Hannon style!
The best version of this song is on the Ute Lemper sings Michael Nyman DVD it has a different brass section that brings out some new ideas.
♙
I have the Magic Garden album (in mono and in Stereo) and it is typical 60s brilliance. One of the best harmony outfits ever. They did a lot of great funky stiff too, and also (sadly) some cringy stuff probably on the orders of their management to make them tele friendly.
KROIKY
ya sumeera ... means a little something
Brilliance shows up once in a while!!!
Love john grant , going too see him next week , every album is a classic
iain mcIntosh Every album was a classic, until he went crap.
Must have missed that bit

Chi è qui per guaraldo metta like
I love that the bridge sounds like a hymn they sang at a Methodist church I used to belong to. And left in disgust at the hypocrisy I found there. I love that John Grant has taken this relic from his upbringing and overlaid it with searing lyrics and made it his own, and LGBT's own.
Great song
Brilliant song
Someone commented on 'When the Working day is done' new DC uploaded song that it sounds like this. Having recently discovered the DC after forgetting about them since National Express 20+ years ago, I'm slowly downloading all their albums (what an astonishing treasure trove) and have bought the Deluxe version of 'Office Politics' one on CD as it contains a separate disk of the 'Swallows and Amazons' songs. This track isn't on the downloaded 'Bang goes the Knighthood' so thanks for uploading it. My first DC gig is in October, cant wait!
That is exciting. Foreverland, A short album about love, Regeneration and Promenade are musts, imho.
How exciting, discovering the shear brilliance that is DC. The vast majority of their older stuff is incredible (Little gems in the newer). I would love to forget them and rediscover
Interesting, this forms part of a thoughline from the Fin de Siecle Nyman colaborations through "All Things", to the various machine songs on Office Politics ...
When I hear the song, I always imagine twilight, a glass of wine in my hand, with three-quarters of my life behind me, remembering all the pains, but not in pain.
What an underrated song from an underrated songwriter.Neil should be talked about as thee best Irish songwriter of all time
Best Irish? Best songwriter, full stop. And that includes L&Mc and Cole Porter!
Remember walking hand in hand, side by side We walked the dogs and took long strolls through the park Except we never had dogs And never went to the park Remember how we used to fuck all night long Neither do I because I always passed out I needed lots of the booze To handle the pain You don't have to pretend to care You don't have to say things that you don't mean You don't have to pretend to care You don't have to say things that you don't mean It just embarrasses me And makes you look like a fool Remember when the tenderness stopped And the kindness turned to pity and disgust And the smiles were stopped Before they could start And understanding was now just a tool We used it every chance we got to be cruel And we cringed because We couldn't make ourselves stop You don't have to pretend to care You don't have to say things that you don't mean You don't have to pretend to care You don't have to say things that you don't mean It just embarrasses me And makes you look like a fool There are days when I think about you And on those days I really feel like a fool Because you don't deserve To have somebody think about you I feel so stupid 'cause I let myself down I acted like a motherfucking clown At a circus On the outskirts of town You don't have to pretend to care You don't have to say things that you don't mean You don't have to pretend to care You don't have to say things that you don't mean It just embarrasses me Because you think you're so fucking cool
<333 Nothing but thanks to Weekend for bringing me to John Grant.
Me too ❤
Enchanting melody.
beautiful....one of the most underrated and underheard songs ever
Beautiful!
He's more than a transcendent musician. He's my therapist.
wingsandash yes, so lucky to discover him when I watched the movie “the weekend” eight years ago. I was still 17 or 18. It’s was a painful period of time that i was very confused with my sexuality. Glad to grow up with his music, his music soothed my pain!
@@ianianvong Big hug.
i prefer the pale green ghosts version, still beautiful and moving tho
and could you upload the version of Glacier featuring Sinead O'Connor? It's impossible for me to find anywhere. Thank you for your help!
This is it.
There are days when I think about you, And on those days I really feel like a fool Because you don't deserve To have somebody think about you. 💔💔💔
