100 Mutant Furry Raids vs 1000 Empire Colonists | Epic Rimworld Battle (part 1)

THE BATTLE FOR PORT HEARERON -
--- a tabletop game, but in Rimworld ---
- rules -
Primary objective - At least one piece of critical infrastructure (power plants, transport pod launchers, fuel dumps, resource piles) must be intact at the end of the game for the port to remain strategically viable. Complete loss of strategic viability results in mission failure.
Secondary objective - keep Count Jimbob alive. If VIP survives a round, supply rewards and defensive assets are delivered in the next round.

This game is divided into four rounds.
There are 25 raids per round.
Once a round has begun, 1-3 raids must be spawned onto the map every 1-3 in game hours.
Once a round has finished, the next round has to begin within 2-5 in game hours.

Round 1
Attacking faction
Raids 0-25 are 2500 points each
Unless specified, all raids are spawned as follows - Immediate Attack, Edge Walk In
Raid 25 is a boss wave, enemy type randomised from chart -
Missile assault
Hammer chargers
Tox & frag grenadiers
2-6 enemy sieges must be deployed by raid 10. Each siege is 1000 points. Sieges do not count towards the total number of raids fought.
The attackers must deploy 1-3 raids via drop pods after raid 10 (centre drops only).
Defending faction
Two full squads of 20 troopers, each led by a champion, must be present on the map at all times. If a squad drops below one third of it’s starting strength, then a full squad must be spawned in to take its place.
Squads can only be deployed from the south end of the base, but can be deployed from the north side of the base 0-3 times during the first round. Drop pod assaults are not affected by this rule.
Squads can only be spawned within the walls of the base. Squads cannot be spawned within 25 tiles of the VIP or the central courtyard.
Both of the starting champions are equipped with either an orbital bombardment targeter or an orbital power beam targeter.
Round 2
Attacking faction

Raids 23, 24 and 25 are boss waves, enemy type randomised from chart -
Sword elites
Acid mortars
Swarm missile assault
3-9 sieges must be deployed before raid 35. Each siege is 1000 points. Sieges do not count towards the total number of raids fought.
The attackers must deploy 1-3 raids via drop pods after raid 35 (centre drops only). 1 in 6 chance of one raid spawning via drop pods every 3 raids.
Defending faction
Two full squads of 20 troopers, each lead by a champion, must be present on the map at all times. If a squad drops below one third of it’s starting strength, then a full squad must be spawned in to take its place.
A single unit of 20 empire champions can replace a single unit of 20 troopers at the start of the game, and an additional unit of 20 empire champions can be spawned in lieu of a trooper squad after raid 35.
A single unit of champions may be spawned in via drop pod assault.
Squads can only be deployed from the south end of the base. Drop pod assaults are not affected by this rule.
Squads can only be spawned within the walls of the base. Squads cannot be spawned within 25 tiles of the VIP or the central courtyard.

These rules are designed to be played with a six sided dice, which can be stolen from your family’s monopoly set if needs be.

    i like the detail that Xonovite, a dirtmole, innately knew how to most quickly get through the maze. makes sense a member of a subspecies of human gene-engineered to live underground would just know how to navigate twisting, dark tunnels.

      I use a custom map generator, can't remember what the mod is called though lol. As for random crashes, I don't really encounter them all that often.

      @@deathsplosion ah thanks, the crashes are probably from bugs like rimwar spawning 1000's of warbands on my settlement but them never being able to capture it and it setting my pc on fire.

      Artillery fire is very random and inaccurate when you target other maps with this mod.

    If you make an embrasure from the medieval fortifications mod, you can actually jump through it using jumping abilities like those given by jump packs or the warlord leaping psycast from VPE. I like to use embrasures as a kind of door that colonists can only get through if I equip them with a jump pack, draft them and get them to jump through, for restricted areas that they won't be able to enter or leave even if they're having a mental break.

      Good to know, I've not actually tried jumping my guys over an embrasure before, sounds like an excellent way to surprise a bunch of raiders. Damn', I need to try this now!

      @@deathsplosion one warning / heads up tho: If you make two rooms, and there's an embrasure between them, they're considered the same room. If you make a room with an embrasure that leads outside, everything in that room is considered to be outside. This is because the game views them the same as sandbags or barricades, rather than walls, despite them blocking movement like walls.

      The mutant furries are kind of like orks in the sense that they've got tonnes of OP wepons, but they end up killing just as many of their own guys as they do the enemy lol. But I think even the imperial guard have better survival odds than empire troopers.

    why not use vfe psycasts, so your own psycasters will have better abilities

      To be honest, it's because I feel psychic powers are very much OP or at least not very well implemented into the game. It is disappointing that they do not auto attack and that enemy units with psychic powers also never seem to use them against your colonists. Considering that Rimworld isn't really PVP oriented, it seems baffling that psychic powers are restricted only to player use. Also, because I'm fighting a battle in 2-3 locations at any given time, I don't really have the time to babysit a psyker and wait for all their emo meters to reset. Also also, Jimbob was my only psyker, and I didn't want him getting involved with front line fighting, so even if he had the BEST psychic powers, I would still have been counterintuitive to use them offensively.

      You can set psycasts to autocast tho, and since you are fighting 25 raids at once, it probabbly wont make that much of a difference tbh, but i agree that they are def really op, so if you do enable it, the furries should get the psycasters sometimes too!@@deathsplosion

      Another quick question, why didnt you use any of your permits, i mean almost all of the higher tier empire soldiers are royalty, so they could call in permit drops of low shields, or areodrone stikes, or builder squads, it will be better for when you are being sieged by the furrires!

    This was amazingly fun to watch. However, you NEED to try "Search and Destroy" mod for these huge skirmishes. Like... for real, it would make it easier to command large numbers of units at once, since when the button is enabled, it gives your drafted pawns basic raider AI, which allows them to make decitions on their own in combat, like seeking out propper cover and firing positions. As well as give melee fighters a way to seek targets on their own as well. An important note is that this does not strip your ability to control them yourself, pawns will still be able to be sellected and ordered to move to specified locations, or to target something in specific, as usual. Resuming their Search and Destroy AI once the task you gave them is fulfilled(in vanilla they'd just stand around instead) Super useful!

You're running at an established position of fire, and also, 50% of the furries are axe wielding berserkers, then there's wild boars and wargs - You're telling me, you want to try and run straight into all that, just so you can go and enjoy an occupied bubble shield for a few brief seconds before every survivor from this hypothetical charge is killied inside of said bubble shield?

    another masterpiece! also there are two mods, *search and destory* and *defensive positions* that might help stopping your brave soldiers from refusing to shoot the enemy.
