I personally find it relatively easy to take down a heli as infantry by using TGMs. It takes a very skilled helicopter pilot to stay alive.

So wrong. You know you can time an RPG just right? Infantry not focussing vehicles is always their loss lol.

There are many counters to the attack helicopter besides jets in BF2042. On the vehicle side you have the Wildcat and the TOR tank, and of course the enemy team's own helicopter. The TOR can literally two-shot any helicopter with its hit-scan projectile across the entire map. It's even a one-shot within around 300m. Lis is an extremely powerful infantry counter. A good Lis player will take down any helicopter with the TV missile after a few attempts. Then there are the dumb-fire launchers (M5 and RPG) which one-shot the heli from any distance. The projectile velocity of these launchers is much higher than in BF4, making them an excellent heli (and jet) counter. On top of that there's Rao who can hack any vehicle at a distance, which disables the vehicle temporarily. The reason why this was a "GG EZ" round is because the enemy team didn't utilise these counters effectively. For example, we kill both their Wildcats within the first 60 seconds into the video without them even putting up a fight.

To add to @Heliocentric_ 's point, the M5 and RPG can be enabled by soflam to become lock-on, which makes them very deadly as AA due to the fast velocity. I have had success (or failure) on both ends using this mechanism. There are multiple occasions where I got destroyed as heli by the lock-on RPGs even after I popped the flare due to how little time the projectile took to get to me. I still don't know if that's by design or a net code registration issue. Jumping out a bit, 2042 actually retains a good amount of the battlefield teamplay mechanism like this one and brings in some new ones, which is what makes me keep coming back. For me it gets extremely fun when you can play with friends.

Agreed! Soflam + recoilless is strong but not a guaranteed kill because the rocket can still be flared.

@ yeah bro You can still play bf4 the game still has a good chunk of players if you arent aware and in case you arent,first thing to try is the heli gameplay,youll never look at 2042 heli the same again
