Great video. I checked my logbook and I was doing the Dubhs that day!
Thanks. It was a cracking day, just perfect for the Cuillins.
It's like a 'spot the dog' competition at the summit - love it! It seems a lot more hospitable (ie less rocky) up there than other Scottish mountains - Tony
Aye, the doggo loved it up there, still a young pup at the time so would have been very exciting running around exploring. It's a nice grassy hill for Skye, all the other big hills on the island do tend to be very rocky. Cheers.
well done Andy! It's on my list to do next year. I noticed you used bypass. Is it really difficult this "bad step" section? thank you
The bypass isn't too bad, a little bit steep and slippery on the gravel near the top, and if it's wet, but no problem if your hands are on the rocks. The direct route over will require rope though. Cheers.
Hello great footage of this beautiful place 😊 new sub 650 👍👍🏴
Hi, thanks. It was a great morning on the hills.
beautiful day, nicely shot and a man of few words. many thanks
Hi, thanks for watching. Great trio of hills on a day like that, especially the views out to sea.
Beautiful!
It really is. Thanks for watching.
Amazing !!! But, i was wondering Where are the people there ? 😂. And this season is Spring?
Yeah this was in Spring. There were a few people about, but I try not to film other people when possible.
Amazing !!! But, i was wondering Where are the people there ?
Wouldn't fancy doing that in crap weather conditions 😢
Yeah definitely. Would be a tougher day, especially navigating in some parts, and spoil the fantastic views.
Wonderful
Thanks.
Brought back so many memories from the 70’s and 80’s for me. Thank you👍
You're welcome. It was a fun route.
Just preparing this route. Appreciate the detailed filming. Thx for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it.
I've been down that stone chute in 2006 after a long rock climb. Is the top of the chute the summit?
The summit is about another 20 meters or so above the top of the chute.
A hill that doesn’t give its summit over easy. Good footage.
Cheers. It's a fun scramble up on a day like that.
My name is preshal
I remember a very narrow section of the ridge near Mullach FC on the way over there, was there a bypass you took or did you not video it?
Hi. I think I took a bypass rather than going over the top of the ridge.
The views from Beinn a' Chlachair, Geal Chàrn, and Creag Pitridh are truly breathtaking. Your video captures the stunning landscape wonderfully. It’s amazing to see such majestic scenery. Enjoy your Sunday!
Thanks. It's a lovely place.
I enjoyed the video. I did it a few years ago. We came back via Sgurr Bhastier for the spectacular views of Sgurr Nan Gillean, we were not disappointed.
Aye, the view to Gillean from Sgurr a Bhasteir is fantastic. Best view of the pinnacle ridge.
The best mountain walking videos on UA-cam in my view.
Thanks very much.
Look at the beautiful scenery touching the sky. It's truly an amazing trail. Excellent sharing my dear!😊❤👍👏
Thanks. The highlands of Scotland are beautiful.
Was also rambling this hike from Sligachan lonesome in about 1991, but (unfortunately) without going up to Sgùrr na Stri! Were also great whether conditions at the end of july - really moving memories! So thx a lot from Berlin, Germany! [... ah, if you still don´t know - check out the two vids of extreme biker MacAskill from that area and enjoy! ('The Ridge' plus 'The Slabs')]
Hi. Glad the video stirred up some nice memories. Thanks for watching. Yeah, I've seen Danny's videos. He's got great skills. Cheers.
Another grand video on a perfect winter's day. My brother and I did Sgurr na Stri a few years ago. We did a linear route. We took the boat to Loch Scavaig, climbed Sgurr Na Stri, and then walked back to Sligahan. It was a great day out.
It's such a magnificent viewpoint. I did it last year in full snow conditions too. We were lucky enough to get a big snow storm, followed by a lovely blue sky day. It never seems to last long in the glen with the salty air. I've never used the boat yet, but looks like a great way to approach the hill.
8:50 - is that a broch? Amazing hike, thanks so much for sharing.
Hi, I think it's just a wee bivy site to shelter from the wind. Cheers.
@@andy-astro Cheers for that! We're visiting Skye next year and may add this hike to our list. :)
Another good video of munro's I will probably never, climb unless I hire a guide. The scrambling is too difficult for me. It is good to see what I am missing lol.
Hi, thanks. These are such beautiful mountains. The scrambling isn't as hard as it looks, just some of the exposure in the Cuillins can be overwhelming if not used to it. A guide is always a great idea if at all unsure of the routes, and they can deal with any rope stuff that may be required.
Brilliant video - exactly as it should be done. No commentary, no music.
Thanks for watching Robert, glad you enjoyed it.
Great vid. How long was the walk from Talisker bay to the Presal beg?
Cheers. It doesn't take too long to get there, 1-2 hours or so.
Brilliant. I think the way you do your hill videos is just perfect - no music, ambient sounds, short clips with a sense of the route, no commentary. Sat in front of my screen, it's as close as I can imagine to actually being there. So thanks, and keep 'em comin'...
Hi, thanks for watching, glad you are enjoying them. I try to keep the videos simple, with just the sights and sounds of nature in first person view. It really helps with the memories of being there. Cheers.
Another good video of a quieter part of Skye - helped by good weather. I have done the first two hills on the walk in similar conditions. I was going to do Glamaig, but I had cramp on the way down to the col! from the second top. Is the ascent to Glamaig from the col as steep as it looks?
Hi. Yeah, that last climb up to Glamaig is very steep with a lot of scree. There are lots of grassy patches you can stick to on the way up though, to avoid most of the scree. Thankfully it was dry, so the grassy patches were quite grippy.
I have just come across your channel and I really like it. I like the way you let the images speak for themselves. You had great weather for this walk, an area I have yet to visit.
Hi, thanks for watching. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos, with just the sights and sounds of nature. Cheers.
Hello from France! Another channel that I discovered thanks to a video from Andrew Kingdom. I particularly like the atmospheres of your videos and these magnificent and very well filmed landscapes! One more subscriber in solidarity between hikers and UA-camrs! Thank you really for sharing! Laurent 🙂👍
Hello. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. The highlands of Scotland have some beautiful landscapes. Cheers.
Nice surprise! I thought you'd have been heading to somewhere near Coulin Lodge That camera (a GoPro?) takes some marvellous pictures
Some great hills in the area. Yeah it's a GoPro, superb camera for it's size.
Fabulous. I used to live in the cottage at the end of the video
Cheers. Beautiful place to live, love the drive down there too.
Enjoyed watching the beautiful views of the place
Thanks, it was an enjoyable day.
This looks absolutely spectacular my friend. Brilliant work.
Cheers Ervin.
Amazing trail. The morning light was truly exquisite and views from the top - breathtaking 😍😍👍👍
Cheers. Yeah, I love the morning light, while it's still kinda golden. That is, when I'm able to drag myself out of bed early enough for it.
Planning a visit to this place tomorrow to say goodbye before Pumped Storage Hydro wrecks it forever.
Oh, didn't know about that. I'm glad I got to see the beach before it disappears.
@@andy-astro Loch a’ Bhealaich Leamhain at the pass is to be dammed, Earba will be the lower reservoir. I’m amazed you haven’t heard of this dismal scheme. ScotGov is 99% guaranteed to approve the plans because they just wave everything through, landscape doesn’t matter to them. Better get up to Loch Fearna (Quoich) next to record that lovely spot for posterity - it’s also potentially on the death list. Have a look at Nick Kempe’s Parkswatch Scotland blog to read all about Earba. You’ll need a stiff drink.
Lovely footage! What a great place It's always sunny up there! You must have better forecasters or the best weather App ever
Hi, thanks for watching. I tend to follow the weather, it's usually cloudy but I try to get out hiking when the weather is good.
Venturing further South for a change 😉 A fine day Andy. Nice wee round that. 😎
Cheers Kev. hoping to venture a bit further south this summer.
Great day for it andy this was a great walk the path up to the first wasn't the best from what I remember, I walked up to the loch wish I had my bike then😅 , but a really enjoyable day out these mountains. Atb Ally 👍
Yeah, the bike was really helpful on the way back. A mostly pathless walk but great on a day like that, wasn't as boggy as I expected, though that might have been due to the dry weather. Cheers.
Nice one Andy, when myself & Paul did them we got similar conditions. I thought the cycle up to the loch was beautiful and we took our bikes much further up. The loch looked so lovely and calm. Nice edit as always Andy ATB Frank
Cheers Frank. Yeah, it's a beautiful spot by the loch, and nice timing to catch the sun coming up when I arrived. I thought the ford, where you guys left your bikes, was a lovely spot too.
What is this? 1:20? Lake?
It's the delta from the rivers coming off the mountains, flowing into Lochan na h-Earba.
They look a fine couple of Graham's Andy. 😎👌 Need to make more of an effort to get over to Skye.
Aye, they are nice hills, with great views. Bit rough on the ascent though with all the boulders.
Cracking hike. Between yersel and Charlie and Mick McCartney, all of your videos are the best by a country mile. Nae faffing about. I love it
Thanks very much. It's nice to just keep them simple, with the sights and sounds of the hills.
Fantastic Andy you had great weather beautiful views across to Ben Alder and at the loch at start of hike cheers
Cheers Andrew. Was nice to catch the sun rising over the loch.
@@andy-astro just a query mate I am backpacking in July to bag a Munro top of Lurg Mhor and may climb either Aonach Buidhe or Faochaig on way back I have watched your video just wondering in your opinion which of these had best views ?
@@andrewkingdom The view down Glen Elchaig on the descent from Aonach Buidhe, near the end of my video, was my favourite from that trip. Not sure what they are like from the Lurg Mhor side.
@@andy-astro cool 😎 I will find out cheers
Great trip Andy😊
Cheers.
Hello my good friend🤚 It was very brilliant content.❤❤ Great filming👏👏 Obviously, a lot of work has been done on the editing and it is very wonderful🌹🌹🌹❤❤ I hope you continue to be successful🌹🌹🌹🌹❤❤❤❤❤❤like👍33
Thank you.
What a day you got, Andy the views looked spectacular love the hazey shots of thd mountains, really looking forward to getting up to Skye .
Cheers Ally. Skye is pretty special, I've lived here my whole life and never get bored of the views. Deffo worth doing all of the easier ones, that don't require a guide, in glorious weather to see them at their best.
Amazing! Great hike and incredible landscape 😍😍👍👍
Cheers. Awkward ascent over the boulders but worth it for the views.
Great views mate really atmospheric a different prospective of Skye wonderful
Cheers Andrew. It's a great wee hike for the views.
I have placed it on my list to do cheers
Lovely day for it Andy. Some great looking mountains and the typical Skye scree. Looks like you had a long walk out from there? ATB Andy
Cheers Andy. A bit of boulder hopping on the ascent but a great walk after that, with some care needed on that scree part. You can get the car in quite close to the base of the first one, so not too much of a walk out after dropping down from the third hill, though it is mostly pathless at that point.
