Now 80 and can no longer do this.....but many thanks for taking me back to 2001 when I climbed An Teallach by the exact same route you took. What an inspiring video of what , in my opinion, is the finest Munro of all. Sgurr Fiona the most wonderful summit.....and view of Fisherfield. Thanks again for all your superb videos. Munroist 4050.

Thanks for watching Michael. Glad the video stirred up some nice memories. Definitely one of the best mountains for the views. Cheers.

3037 so have passed that way. A very dangerous mountain if you traverse the ridge.

Similar feelings for me Michael except that I can no longer do them, aged only 64 . Thanks to Andy for the video. An Teallach was one of the best 20 days in my life. We had done a three day backpack in the Fisherfield six before that and came out and camped so that we could do that day with a daysack. It was one of those days when I was just in the zone and took every pinnacle direct. We did have perfect conditions, with no snow on the ground and all the rock completely dry. Liked the views of the atmospheric cloud which reminded me of a tremendous day on the Grey Corries in Oct 99 when, after a soaking morning, we almost became blasé about glories and Brocken spectres by the end of the day.

I think it was Easter 1988. Hadn't intended to complete Aonach Eagach but did anyway. Full of vim but not much vigour two days later, muggins here thought to ascend An Teallach from Glas Tholl.
One rucksack, waterproofs, food, water and camera later the game was a bogie! I can still 'see' the stuff cartwheeling in the air and landing soundlessly below. Never went back so your wonderful video is a what might-have-been moment. Thanks, Andy. Exceptional footage.

Thanks Mike. Looks like a tough way up from Glas Tholl, especially the last wee part to the col if it's icy. Definitely a mountain I'd like to revisit and explore some more. Cheers.

An Teallach my (and many others) favourite mountain. Each time I was on Sgurr Fiona the image of Bheinn Dearg Mhor and the Fisherfield was as riveting as the Corrag Bhuidhe. Possibly the finest viewpoint in the highlands. Thanks for some wonderful memories Andy.

Hi Michal. Yeah, I really loved the views over the Fisherfield, especially on such a good day with the sun behind them making the river shine. I'll deffo be back to do this one again, probably in summer conditions so the ridge isn't icy, and approach from the other side. I'm not sure if I have a favourite Munro yet, but most likely it'll be one of the Cuillins. Maybe Sgùrr a' Ghreadaidh, since it's right in the middle of the ridge for the views.

Thanks, great video. This is a lovely mountain. I am too old to do it any more but have been lucky enough to traverse it five times. The first two were solo, and then it was great to be able to introduce others to it, with two companions on my last three traverses. The final one was a full winter job. Not as windy as your day, but we sat under the pinnacles with the sun on us and huge icicles behind, and views to die for to the Fisherfield. It soon got very much colder so we retreated down the gully to the Lochan ( take the correct one! ) before it got dark, steep but relatively safe and quick. Keep doing it while you can. Still lots to do though even when less physically able.

Hi Robert. This was my first time here, what a great mountain. I'll definitely be back during a nice summer day for the full traverse along the ridge, a bit icy this time for my liking, especially being alone on the hill. I love the view south to Fisherfield too, with the low winter sun glimmering on the river. Thanks for watching.

Definitely. I want to revisit in summer conditions for some more exploring, and to scramble along the ridge, rocks were a bit icy this time. Such a nice mountain. Cheers.

Cheers Frank. It was a great day out. I wasn't expecting it to be so white after so much rain, really made it feel intimidating when the views opened up. I'll definitely be back for another wander around this mountain at some point. Cheers.

Great video, amazing conditions. Brings back memories from 89, one and only time, done in late September, no snow and ice, but blowing a gale, followed this route to Sgurr Fiona, by-passed the pinnacles, then down a steep gully to Loch Toll an Lochain. Returned in semi darkness, a great day out.

Hi Mark. It's an impressive mountain. I hope to return sometime to do the ridge in nice dry summer conditions. I think I saw the route down the steep gully on the Munro Show, good option if the day is getting on.

Yes Andy, that's the one, more like a narrow stone chute. The worry on that occasion was my map had got blown away from a coat pocket on Sgurr Fiona, the "path" to return us to Dundonnel wasn't at all obvious, but knowing the general direction, used the compass to get us safely to a burn and off the mountain. Look forward to seeing your full traverse!

Thanks Andy. Brilliant day, and jaw dropping views. I was hoping to do the ridge too, but with the rocks being so icy, and then the clag rolling in I decided to give it a miss. Next time though 😀. Cheers.

Thanks Charlie. It was a fun day out, and what a view when you reach the first Munro. I'll have to revisit during the summer months to do the scramble along the ridge, didn't fancy it this time with the icy rocks, and then the mist rolling in. Cheers.

Hi Gordon. Yeah, it was a lovely morning, the light was fantastic over the Fisherfield. I was planning to go along the ridge, but the rocks were quite icy, and then the clouds rolled in, so thought it better just to retrace my steps to Dundonnell, especially with me being alone on the mountain. I'll be back for the ridge on a nice summer day next time.
