Are camping and hiking only for the rich in 2024?
Переглядів 1302 місяці тому
Not including gear, finding a place to hike or camp without paying a fee is getting harder and harder every year. Whether you are paying to park, an administration fee, or to use the road, how many times do we have to pay for our forest, BLM land, and State land. Not to mention, what are they doing with all the fees collected?

Pretty sure it is the camera that is 4k not the screen. the screen does look better. it mat be a different tech. But good video comparing the two. Question, how long from turning on the unit does it take for the backup camera to be available?
On other videos i saw the burner could be controlled independently. With a propane hookup, can the burners can't be controlled independently still?
Hows yo transmission...?
Very helpful - would be great if you could link each item in the description. Thanks!
I keep a small piece of a shammy towel at the bottom of my jetboil to absorb moisture, it's helps to prevent rust
Aluminum rusting interesting
Thanks for the ideas, going to buy a couple of those tarps and the cook stove and that tent will be in my future too. It’s all a step at a time.
My only complaint with the flash 55 is that it’s so comfortable I tend to bring too much stuff.
can you list the other items you mention in the video? particularly the boxes themselves?
I'll be staying up there for a month in January. Here in California 📫 offices have worked for me. Looks like a 30 minute commute each way for a few weeks since the canyon is off limits.
nice video. been debating between rigid and flex rolling tool box. very clever the way you used the underside of the lid. Can you do a follow up video of you using these boxes during camping. does the boxes rattle or rock around in the back of the car?
very cool. I'll have to look into something like this. thanks for the video!
Does anything work with fingers on the screen? For example if your on the internet can you click a link?
Utah?! Haha!! Do you guys wear the mormon panties?
Highly informative, thanks.
I really appreciate you checking it out!
The Senate STILL hasn't even touched it.
Would you please add a link to that adapter set? Thanks!
a.co/d/b5nGVBL Here is a link for you. Thanks for watching.
@@campshackproductions3725 Thank you!
You missed the most important issue, will it fit the Lodge cast iron grill/griddle? If a two burner camp stove can’t be used with a grill griddle, it’s of no use to me.
I will get on testing this for you. I assume it will work. I will let you know soonish. Thanks for watching.
That makes sense Im on the drivers side and passenger side seems alot easier. thanks for tip. Seems to be alot of rigid boxes tho, but hell there is always no room doing this gig 😬OMG there is 2 of you lol!!
You can’t beat the freedom. It is a great option. Thanks for watching.
Love the custom patina paint job on the bumper. I like your camper set up. Pull out of rig when not needed and in when needed. Stealth overlanding, love it.
I like the subtle rust look. It happens to every X I have ever seen. Not to mention the OEM bumper is way too expensive for a useless bumper. I have a new bumper I just need time to get it installed. Thank for watching.
Good video. Another option, poncho over top your body and pack. Keeps your pack dry and the pack creates space between your body and the poncho.. that’s my preference. I like rain jacket for at camp though when not really active and not wearing pack..
Thanks for sharing your preference; I've been thinking about ponchos lately! I actually always carry one as a backup. Thanks for watching.
Nice video
I really appreciate you checking out the video! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching.
I was shouting "NO!" when you started screwing in the propane bottle since most of those are just simple pass-thru adapters. As small as is folds down, I say $60 is a great price. Especially since we pretty much just use our Blackstone for 90% of cooking these days. Carrying my old 2 burner camp stove just for occasional use seems like too much space waste even with our camper.
Thanks for your concern. I paid a little extra for the adapter so it could do that. I was half expecting it to leak. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers.
That's very cool. It is a bit out of my financial ability but maybe on Black Friday...
Put an alert on it in Amazon. It will tell you when the price drops. Thanks for watching.
Good job on the vid! Very accurate and comprehensive. I bought one of these about 2 weeks ago and it's everything you said it is. PLENTY of room for even the largest camp cooking set, but small and light enough to throw in your pack for a day hike/lunch break. Blows me away that it's only $60.
I agree! It's amazing how much you get for the price. I really appreciate you taking the time to share. Thanks for watching.
so both burners receive gas at the same time? how do you use only one burner without losing gas? edit, seen the two knobs later, maybe let people know. sorry
Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely address this in a future video. I appreciate your input. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Nice video, do you think it will run of a 5 pound propane tank with the correct adapter?
Yes, it will.
I am trying to figure out if it needs a regulator or filter on the connection hose. I will let you know when I figure it out.
Do you need a regulator or filter Retgunz?
you know there is one with drawers?
Hi Chad, I do, and I looked at it. It looked like the drawers were a little small. Who knows, maybe I will add it someday.
The glare suck ass
wow, there's a 'we' here?! there really is a woman for nearly everyone isn't there!
nerded out on the rolling tool box kits for camera gear -Ridgid Pro is the best choice I thought, also looked at others and there some nice makes but the prices are crazy except for maybe jobsite use -Toughbuilt system was tempting, Dewalt Toughsystem 2.0 is good -comparatively the Ridgid Pro set is a non-risk choice -the latches on some other brands Hart, Stanley, etc are crap -Stanley/Dewalt/Craftsman boxes are made by same company however, the Dewalt Tstack doesn't have gaskets yet the Craftsman Versastack does and are interchangeable -pricey Ridged fit dividers are available from aftermarket as Ridgid doesn't have any for some odd reason, see Dryforge
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the great tips! I am looking into some aftermarket dividers and making my own. I will share my findings in a future video. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
I was just looking at finding a storage system... your timing is impeccable ! Thank you.
You’re welcome, and thanks for watching!
Thanks nit being able to scroll the map with touch drag is a deal breaker
Came in perfectly, this is exactly what I was looking for! Is the 4K sign digital? I thought it was a sticker, but it wasn't there when turned off.
Always. Total must have out there.
Dig it. I've been looking at all kinds of overlanding/vehicle camping solution and this was definitely on the list. Thank you for putting this review together.
I am glad I could help with your search! Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching.
Hite fuel is no longer available. Plan accordingly.
Thanks for the heads-up. Too bad it was a great spot for gas and to air up tiers. You heard it, people. Cheers, Dakar.
It gets hot cause of the direct sunlight
I agree. However, it comes with dash mounts. Don't you think it should be able to work as the manufacturer intended it to?
@campshackproductions3725 and that crossed my mind too, it's like a big tablet lol. They say keep out of direct sunlight lol but made it for the window lol. I live in the Caribbean and ordered one, so now I'm wondering how will that work out for me, I think imma put light tint on my windshield. It will have to work or I'm screwed with return.
@@StclairRobertson I have been told that the suction cup does not stick to the window very well. I would recommend using the mounting disk on your dash then the suction cup. FYI. Cheers.
Yessss this was perfect! Of course the handle screw was stripped, but once I got through that, easy enough! Thank you!!
I'm so glad I could help! It's inevitable if you own an X. Cheers.
Great vid. Made it an easy fix even for me. Opens and locks fine now 👍
It's always good to help another Xterra owner out. Cheers.
Terrible unit…..go to Carpuride man
Nope!
Dude you are literally the man!!!! Thanks a ton! Hatch stopped opening yesterday out of the blue while packing up from hunting. I rely heavily on my trunk so not getting it to open sucked. 15 mins and it’s open! Thanks brother!
Glad it worked, man. You're welcome. I love my Xterra. Be well, my friend.
getting echo on the recievers end while using phone calling, anyone else?
Try forgetting the screen and re-connect. See if that helps.
How do you adhere the black out window coverings to the windows?
I tucked them into the trim around the windows in my portal rear windows. For the rest, I just laid them over the window blocks. You can also sew on Velcro tabs that stick to your headliner.
Awesome advice 😎and grounded person!
Glad you liked it! Thank you for reaching out. 👍
Not sure I completely agree for all camping. It seems to be based on popularity and demand for the location. There's still a ton of free blm land and forestry roads, i found enough within 30 miles of my destinations to do 4 full weeks of free camping between 2021 and 22. Pb&j in a cooler and a old sleeping bag round a fire old school style. People just need to be willing to drive American distances. For the Instagram famous spots though, yep, it's definitely priced for only the top 50%. Based on very high demand though, they have to keep the traffic reasonable somehow.
Why are you wearing a hat, indoors? Fail 👎🏼
Bought one recently and love it so far. As for heating and glitching issues. I don't think any device is capable of not heating up in direct sunlight. With heat comes throttle and glitching so only way to correct that is to have it in front of an AC vent. I know you would see a world of difference with performance.
Thanks for sharing that is a great tip. Cheers.
This isn't just a Utah thing. In Texas there is very little federal public land. If you want to camp in a state park, you have to make a reservation months in advance. And, when you get there, everything is extremely crowded. And, the cost of these camping spots are outrageous. There is an excise on all outdoor sporting goods in Texas that is supposed to go to TPWD (the state department that runs the state parks). They never get all of the revenue generated by this tax. With all of the use, we should be seeing a lot more expansion of state parks. I would be happy if they just acquired land and set up roads so we could camp in primitive spots. But, I do not know of any state park that has that in Texas.
