The bumper is crap. I picked up an 06a few months ago. Same situation. Mine also didn't have a hitch. Just installed mine but you didn't remove the exhaust hanger. There's plenty of room back there to lift the hitch into place. If you lift it exhaust side first and then follow with the other side after it slips right in. I used the spare tire on the ground to rest the hitch on and installed it myself in about 30 minutes.
