426 HEMI DODGE CHALLENGER RIPS ON THE DYNO AND THE STREET!
This 2023 Dodge Challenger came to us after a major engine failure caused his 17k mile engine to need a rebuild. We built a 426 stroker with the MOAB cam from @FlyinRyanPerformance and man is she mean! Paired with longtubes and a 4000 stall from Sipple Speed & Performance and it's a match made in heaven!

4000 stall and an 8 speed is vicious with 426ci. Sounds really driveable.
With this cam being as large as it is and paired with the 426 it had to be a very high stall speed to be drivable for sure. It drives really well but is definitely snappy down low

Dealerships unfortunately always try to work their way out of warranty work.
Not a 'random' failure, but a failure from Tavares using non quality parts by parts cutting. If it were me, I would be contacting the Dodge Customer Service at headquarters and be talking to them about $$$ for the rebuild as they did not want to do it at the dealership. Also, I would file a complaint with the state attorney general and the BBB.
I agree. This was 100% a parts failure / defect but we will be getting it rebuilt better than before! Make sure your Subscribed if you haven't already

Might be a dumb question, is it normal to hear the limiter block rocking back and forth inside the phaser chamber on a new install when rotating the cam?
no. That normally means the spring broke or came undone when working on it
Theres still tension on the spring when i reassembled. Its resting against the pin as it was
And just to clarify, i dont mean with the engine running, just with it in my hand. I hear the limiter moving back and forth inside the control chamber when moving the phaser around
@scls3power if your referencing like if you were to shake it then that is normal. If you mean turning over the engine it seems like it is actuation then you have an issue.

Don't modify the car until you are past factory warranty. Just keeps you from these type of issues.

unfortunately they always try to find a way out of covering your warranty repairs. You have to make sure you understand the warranty act and know your rights

How much horsepower can a sipple hp70 hold?
that is really dependent on the tune but 1000-1200

there is no way to get accurate measurements and torque doing it the car
Not in a car it's in a ram 2500
@jacksontodd79 either way with doing the torque sequences and all in the truck are hard to do along with measurements. you could but not recommended

Do you have any video where you show how to remove the fender as well? Please make one or tag me if possible please trying to do it myself! lol
I don't have one for thr fender however once you get the bumper off there will be a couple bolts where the bumper attaches on the edge, several where the hood meets up, 2 or 3 will be inside the wheel well where the door meets the fender that you usually take out from the inside the wheel well, then there is 2 or 3 under the side skirt

We didn't build this particular one. Customer bought it this way and added a fuel system so we were helping FRP get into dialed in. I believe it's a 426 stroker, had a 3.0 whipple making 23psi along with fuel system etc

Does that install void any warranties? I was going to install one just to change the tire size.
no it does not but I would remove it before going to the dealer etc. Either way with the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act they must prove that your modification caused the issue. To do any changes on the newer Mopars you will need an unlocked pcm which they will automatically state it "voids your warranty" and unless you have the means to fight it you may want to leave it stock
At what horsepower rating does the trans life start to degrade?
The trans is only rated at 516ftlbtq so above that you have to be really careful and it's a gamble. We always recommend a built trans once you approach or pass 600ftlbtq

So which would you say is better? A 4 degree limiter or the 0 degree lockout
So that is dependent on the setup. The limiter allows you to still utilize limited VVT functionality which nets better HP gains but some cams are too big to allow this without Piston to Valve contact so they must be locked out.
@ so I’m about to order the btr 225 cam, btr recommends their 4 degree limiter but I see everyone goes for the lockout instead. What would you say is my best choice?
