I think everyone seems to have many ideas even though they themselves never wrote or produced a play. I really liked this movie, plus in the original it was hard to tell what the plot was. Cats just started singing out of nowhere. Here at least we understand where Victoria came from and that she helped Gabriella overcome her fear which led to her being picked to go to the Heavyside layer.

Never thought I’d cringe listening to Jennifer Hudson sing. Everything about this is atrocious.

That song she's singing fits me purrfectly , All that I wanted was to be wanted but I'm not. I'm a square peg in a world of round holes, I don't fit in anywhere 😢. As that song goes in Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, I'm nothing but a misfit. I just feel like I don't belong anywhere 😢. I've tried to fit in but I don't. I'm not trying to put anyone down but, I can't seem to find anyone to talk to on my level, I'm to damned smart to fit in with people who I've referred to as regular people. I keep getting knowledge from something or someone that I don't want. I keep questioning, why me and what am I supposed to do with it, it must be for some reason, but the answer eludes me.

Aren't you supposed to sing along with the music? I'm pretty sure that's how songs work. Just singing the words whenever you feel like it is anarchie. Has she even heard the song before?

It's really sad that great performances like this were completely overshadowed by the terrible directing and storyline the director decided to take this otherwise great work of art.

Just in case people forgot how bad this movie was: The ONLY plot in the musical is that Grizabella had a fall from grace and she doesn't want what all the other cats want, she just wants to be touched by them, and at the end she sings her heart out, is accepted by the other cats, and also gets the thing that the other cats all want. Happy ending... Not only did they decide to have Grizabella, the cat that only wants to be touched, pull away from Victoria trying to touch her. They also made a brand new song that follows Memory, ya know the song about how Grizabella is just left with memories and now she's losing those too and is begging for someone to reach out and touch her and that would make her happy, and that new song just says "Stop complaining, at least you have those memories!" The movie just completely undermines the point of the original production... Don't ever give anyone props or congratulate them for this movie

The only good thing with this horrible movie, the only thing they did right was Memory and bringing the spotlight back on the real musical.

I despise this movie but Idris Elba never disappoints

Man, no questioning the talent of Ms Hudson but still can't hold a candle to Ms Paige. Through no fault of her own, the CGI hurts cuz you really see and feel the pain Ms Paige exuded on stage

Piece of shit movie

Just saw this movie and gosh - at first I was like ‘Eh’ but the further I saw it, I guess - the better it got. And one of the most things that I lived watching from the movie was - seeing Victoria sing this song. ❤ Edit: I feel like her song fit so well with what happened in the beginning. Considering that she was literally thrown away in a bag. And how she mentioned ‘ But at least you have beautiful ghosts ‘, I feel like she’s mentioning to the other cat that at least she has memories of how she lived her life in there while she ( Victoria ) has none made, especially none good to keep from her old ‘world’. But still, Victoria was able to help her sing out her pain later and get a new life. Beautiful

I didn't care about visual part of this scene, yet that's one of the worst Memory performances I have ever heard. It's bleak and uninspiring

I just don't understand WHY this movie gets so much hate. Yes, I've never seen the stage version but this movie was good in my humble opinion and I can NOT get though this song without bawling! Jennifer ... you were (and are) awesome!!! To everyone else .. forget what you know, forget what you've seen and see this through YOUR imagination!
