My CGI videos are based on various sci-fi shows I watched as a kid. They are explorations and re-interpretations of the original production designs. It's all in the name of fun. Enjoy.

SPACE:1999 RE-MASTERED Cargo Eagle Parachute Assisted Landing
Переглядів 3,1 тис.21 день тому
Inspired by the actual re-entry and landing of NASA's Curiosity Rover on Mars, this CGI animation applies a similar technique to the Eagle spacecraft from SPACE:1999.
SPACE:1999 Embarkation
Переглядів 218 тис.Рік тому
This Space:1999 concept video sets the Eagle launch pads at a safe distance from the Alpha Base buildings, and replaces the extending boarding tube / "jetway" with the idea that a special Travel Tube car that is fitted with a docking ring wheels right up to the Eagle. The series' boarding tube didn't show any signs that it could articulate should the Eagle not land precisely in the center of th...
Eagle Bike Photo Outing
Переглядів 3,2 тис.Рік тому
Amidst a parking lot of cars, tourists, questions, battery outages and a quickly setting sun, (at which point we should have surrendered and made our way to the pub) I wanted to get some footage of my Eagle bike against the backdrop of some lava beds in Central Oregon. The bonus was that the moon was just above the horizon! Unfortunately, we had to photograph very quickly as we only had the one...
SPACE:1999 Power Station
Переглядів 39 тис.2 роки тому
This video is inspired by the awesome set used as the nuclear generating area in the Space:1999 episode "Force of Life." The episode however showed this nuclear power plant placed almost in the center of the base - it would be safer if it was located at a remote location - as depicted here, and again, using the Eagle pods as building blocks.
Space:1999 Eagle bicycle costume for the Galactic Disco bike ride
Переглядів 1,4 тис.3 роки тому
I built a foam board Space:1999 Eagle to outfit my bike for the “Galactic Disco” bike ride! I had to make a few modifications to the Eagle design to be able to ride the bike. As for costumes at the ride, I will quote from Diana Morris (season 2 episode "The Bringers of Wonder") when she answered Sandra’s question, “what’s everyone wearing?” “There’s a lot of silver about. Necklines are a little...
SPACE:1999 Alpha Food Production
Переглядів 24 тис.3 роки тому
"...if our food chain goes, we are finished." - Dan Mateo in the episode "The Troubled Spirit." There was mention of growing limitless crops of mushrooms, Protein Production Units, soy burgers, and a French restaurant at the end of block D level 9. Bergman says in "Mission of the Darians." "these are the components we use to provide our food on Alpha. They're processed and recycled of course to...
SPACE:1999 Surface Exploration Vehicle
Переглядів 61 тис.3 роки тому
I was always intrigued by this one of the three tanks shown in the episode “The Infernal Machine”, but I wanted to see it used as a vehicle for surface exploration teams (such as Sanderson’s perhaps) and lunar resource service. This is a concept of the Alphans harvesting water, and a look inside this long haul - science station vehicle.
SPACE:1999 EAGLE parachute assisted re-entry
Переглядів 58 тис.3 роки тому
As many spacecraft use parachutes as a way of slowing down during atmospheric descent, this video depicts the SPACE:1999 EAGLE with a full ventral heat shield, deployed parachutes, and thrust to make its landing.
Space:1999 EAGLE assembly & walkthrough
Переглядів 254 тис.3 роки тому
This is a CGI recreation of the Eagle spacecraft from Space:1999 showing an assembly and a walkthrough of the interior. It is not 100% canon to the show but have tried to be respectful of both Brian Johnson and Keith Wilson's vision for the show. I took inspiration from the Dinky Eagle replica for the main hatch and gangway stairs.
The Starlost - CGI docking sequence
Переглядів 12 тис.4 роки тому
CG version of the Pisces docking with the Ark from the The Starlost, with a quick corridor and biosphere sequence. Effort was made to pay homage to Jack McAdam's original production design.
The Starlost soundtrack
Переглядів 7 тис.5 років тому
The Starlost was an ambitious TV project for 1973. Unfortunately, the production suffered a worse disaster than the fictional Earthship Ark. However, The Starlost explored a seemingly abandoned, 400 year old vessel, 100 miles in length, in deep space. Pretty cool idea. Score Productions is credited with the music. Some of it was eerie, atmospheric and moody. But by today's standards, the music ...

The Jupiter viewport was so cool. Thought it would be interesting if you could also see through the lower deck viewport for landing. This is very quickly animated and edited - not enough hours in the day...
realizing moonbase alpha eagle earth to moon
Переглядів 211 тис.7 років тому
This segment was inspired by a habitat in Antartica and NASA's Curiosity Rover Mars descent system. As a kid I really was inspired by the production design and photography of Space 1999. Being a nerd, there were elements that bothered me about the Eagle and Moonbase, so in my spare time it's fun to re-work some of the designs.

realizing moonbase alpha travel tube
In the TV series, the Eagles never had a dedicated airlock so this vid makes more sense
Awesome, we'll think about more onland terraforming projects, then you won't be considered this dome system is similar to Ceres critical mineral base.
Absolutely brilliant!! Amazing work. As a huge fan I say Thank You!❤❤
Make more
id make the landing gear a bit wider stance and larger tire for safety reasons..
better than the actual show
I wish this was my new apartment
reminds me of Moonbase Alpha1
This is excellent work, well done!!
👍 😊
Last century, many settlements has continues to choose onland transportation lines as first step to build space aerospace architecture on the Lunar and Ganymede.
I was wondering do you have the sound effect for the door control and the hallway. Without music? I an trying to make a door control
Yes, I can share those files with you. They are copied from the episodes on the DVD set. If you share an email address I will send them to you.
Perfect!
Standard curved magnetic screen🌌
I don’t remember, had they mastered fusion power? I remember only advanced fission technology, like the NERVA engines used on the Eagles.
The original Eagle had nuclear heat engines, wouldn’t that produce radioactive gases as a byproduct?
Yeah, video ok but the heavy metal sitar, Yeah right........
Congrats!!!
I would love to see a remake of this or a continuation of where they left off. The vision of Gerry Anderson was the best and the most realistically designed for our near future, not 500 years ahead. I would imagine that Nasa and Tesla would design these someday as close as possible design wise.
And to think that we could easily have had a Moonbase Alpha by now if it weren't for endless money for wars and vote buying. Although I still say it's best to build underground and let remote control excavation machines do all the heavy work before we even get there.
Excelente.!
All the ahead-of-its-time tech was awesome to see and then you would see the Alphans walking around in bell bottoms with platform shoes 😆
Thank you
The original concept the domes were 50 miles across Making the entire ship very huge Thanks for posting the music! And the cg rendering is very pleasing
Music is wonderful! 👍😁🌏🌍🌎🌙♥️♥️♥️♥️
Neat concept. Either from New Glenn or Rocketlabs. 😏Series didn't have time to show such details. But this looks pragmatic. Guess the wheels are temp transport platforms to carry the tubes to the maglift tunnels.
The original show sucked. Martin Landau was not appealing..nasty raunch
Que buen trabajo , espectacular, ojala hicieran una serie respetando la esencia.
Amazing rendition, Ted!!!
Blender?
modern Alpha should be totally like this!
documentary episode? I'm sold!!
you do have a gift for this stuff, I love it!
Where and what is the fuel?
Parachutes are a clever idea to conserve what I believe the tech manual called solid fuel landing rockets until you really need them. Given the way the Eagle is laid out, a liquid ditching ought to be really workable too - land it in a big puddle then drain it out! No landing thrust required!
Wow, fantastic! Well considered and well presented! It certainly makes an Eagle transporter more economical as an interatmospheric transport. But there's a lot of added heat shielding (and its mass;) perhaps having tail-first re-entry with the engines (which I assume are aerospikes of some variant) at a low burn rate like the DC-X and DC-Y; the paragliders could be deployed forward, and then release them, drop the ventral side at 1km, and power in the rest of the way. There'd be a whole lot less heat shielding, though I do like the protected landing thrusters. (Still, flipping up a protective shield aft of them would be a whole lot less technically complex or prone to failure. I can hardly wait to see what else you've done. Great work, Mr. Rivers! Keep it up!
So good!
Impresionante !
That is one fantastic rendering! And yes, I love the idea of a safer approach from the landing pad, though the tube would be necessary to move once you're inside the Alpha complex -not to mention as a more efficient escape route during an emergency to the hangars
*EAGLE* _plus_ *PARAFOILS.* WIN - WIN...👍
The concept of the video was amazinging and I agee that the music does significantly detract from the experience. Just a thought..
Outstanding, brought back fond memories. Thank you...
As much as I love the Eagle, it's right up there with the Starfury and Leonov. Realistically it couldn't have the ∆V to reach orbit. Especially carrying cargo pods.
Fantastic great work
Fantastic. Space 1999 truly is timeless: it will always be a part of my life and a large part of sci fi history.
This comes handy at high gravity planets if the engines are not powerful enough to brake.
So cool! Can u not make this into a VR world for the Quest headsets ? Technical question; are these the same tubes that they travel in at the base?
