Easily Wax Cheddar, Gouda, and Other Cheeses at Home
Переглядів 178Місяць тому
Waxing your own cheeses isn't hard, but it will require some patience, some heat-proof-ish gloves, a good thermometer, and some basic kitchen tools dedicated to wax from now on. Also, I'm in no way a pro at this, but this method has worked for our cheeses so far. :) Amazon Links to Garden and Home things we LOVE: 20 Mule Team Borax: amzn.to/3L18ovY Arm and Hammer Laundry Booster: amzn.to/4bmTnz...

It really is! You should see it in its usual glory, when that whole 5,000 sq ft area is full of food... this year is such an odd one for me as a gardener, with just the raised beds. I'm calling it a rest year, but it's definitely not my norm. 🙃

This channel is a gold mine, I feel lucky to have found it so early on in your process and am looking forward to the content you will be putting out in the future. The story of your upbringing is particularly refreshing. Regarding the salt - absolutely it matters what kind you're using if you're measuring by volume (like you did) and not by weight. Depending on the size of the crystal, 1/4 cup could be a little bit of salt or a lot! Kosher salt tends to have a bigger crystal which is less salty. 1/4 cup of finely ground table salt could make this beautiful mozarella inedible.

YOUR HAIR. So pretty! And the color of that top is perfect for you. Meanwhile, my friend, thank you for this recipe. I never find that laundry soap has the essential oil or perfume level that I like for my towels. I like the idea of making a special batch for my towels so that I can just bury my face into a pile of lavender-scented cotton after a hot shower. Merci! I’m inspired!

Fun to watch. I've never seen laundry soap that consistency. Sounds great! I've made my own dry laundry soap, too, for years. I don’t care for the scent of either Fels Naptha or Zote....so I use plant-based bar soap. Lately it's been Mrs.Meyers Birchwood scent. I enjoy being able to vary the scent just by using different scent bar soaps. Homemade laundry soap has worked just fine for us. I have had a top-loading, HE washing machine since 2014. Homemade soap hasn't harmed my machine.

@@FrankGutowski-ls8jt Frank, if it cleans our laundry , it works. Our laundry is fresh & clean. You may have degrees in chemistry but that doesn't mean you know everything about laundry. Also, Frank, if something , whether home made or store bought , doesn't clean laundry, people aren't going to keep using it. Home made doesn't work well for everyone & those people stop & go back to store bought laundry detergent. I made dishwasher detergent once....it did an awful job! I quite using it. But for some people, it works well. Science is always right, you say. I say people will use what gets their laundry clean . Science can say home made is too diluted to work. But I guarantee you, most women will not keep using ANY detergent if they aren't happy w/ the outcome. That tells you home made works for some of us .
