I just bought a 2016 V7 racer 'yesterday' with just over 2100 miles on it for $3,5k usd. It was 40f outside.. just made a quick short ride. Everything us fine. I just can't wait for the spring to come to discover it and enjoy it. I'm retired and sold my Noton (owned it 38 years!) a few few years ago and always regretted it.. so, I guess it's the next best thing I could afford. Doesn't it look sexy? 😊 Hi from Quebec
Well said and very informative, I am now of to order some thanks for sharing.
Good to hear it was helpful.
I have a 2020 1200S and I love it so much. Boy is it powerful. My annual service is $495 in 2024 in Orange County CA
Nice! I continue to enjoy mine as well and have added the full Termi system since this update. My service runs a bit less. Enjoy riding this autumn.
What about the new 937? Did you get a chance to try it
Sure looks good in Virginia, so green it could be England, very fitting for riding a Bonnie!
Agreed. This was a very good day.
Thank you for the great video review!
Ronie - you're welcome and happy hunting for one.
One of the best review of this bike
You're welcome. I still enjoy it a great deal to this day. If you're looking - find one w/a full service history and enjoy. Cheers.
Thanks for getting back to me.
My pleasure.
17:45 I am interested in buying a 2020 version of this bike. Do you recall if the vibration at the foot pegs was normal or more than other bikes?
Mark - I recall it being a bit more than normal - at higher RPMs. I also wear race boot w/a thin sole. If you expect to ride at lower revs and/or have thicker boots, you'll be just fine. As this engine/chassis config is an older design, she rocks side to side - and therefore at the pegs - more than the new V100. I think owning one and admiring all of its many details would be fun. Happy hunting.
Nice comprehensive summary. Exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks man.
You're welcome and happy hunting for one.
This review has made me want one ever more. I'm dreaming about those long sweepers.
Thanks for commenting. I still love my 1200s and have added the full Termi w/remap and some other mods. Definitely recommend getting one and they are wonderful thru long sweepers. Happy riding!
You should've done at least one full throttle full rev range acceleration, this is simply not acceptable.
Just came across this review. Well done my friend. I've been looking for tires for my '18 CBR650F. Trying to decide between these, the Metzler M9RR and Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. I'm not a super aggressive rider but I do like to push the limits every once and a while. What do you think about the other brands I mentioned?
Appreciated. The Pilot is a very good tire. I'm not as familiar w/the M9RR. I have a new set of Rosso 4s w/about 1k on them. Excellent and they're holding their profile a bit better than the Rosso 3s. You really can't go wrong w/the Michelin or the Pirelli.
Just stepped up to T120 after turning in 140,000Km. on my wonderful 2017 T100. The T 120 is the better bike on 3 counts i) Delicious surge of power when you need it ii) Fantastic twin Brembo front brakes iii) Exceptional light system particularly headlamp main and dipped. Haven't sold T100 yet but I know some fellows have a wife and a mistress and I am in love x 2
Hi..so when mounting these the treads should be mounted in a different direction between front and rear?
It does look like this - and looking at my new Rosso IVs, they are the same. I'd check the Pirelli website and perhaps they can give a more clear answer.
Had this same bike. Beautiful, but. Seat is horrible after 45 minutes plus any wind screen would help. At 6 feet tall, I never got comfortable riding it any distance. Sold and bought an African Twin. Ha. Fits me much better and quite comfy.
Yes - my back wasn't too happy and I'm 5'7". I can only imagine at 6'. The AT is a lovely machine. Enjoy and thanks for commenting.
I want a Porsche, too. I cannot afford one. I am sad.
Brilliantly presented, Well done.
Thank you have a good weekend.
Just bought this 3/2024 appreciate your input
Congrats and enjoy!
I loved this review. Stunning sun dappled roads, smooth and gentle riding, peaceful wise voice. Amazing work.
Thank you. The scenery in Middleburg, VA is beautiful.
I think I’ll get them? The Road 5’s are so expensive! Just wanted to ask you if I should get a Rosso 3 or Michelin Road 5? Should I run a staggered setup? I think the Rosso 3’s will be more than good for a 250 Duke? Rosso 2? Michelin Road 5? Or Rosso 3? Thanks sir. Love your review. 😇 would want my tyre to last for 6-10000 miles. I ride really softly and touch 70 miles per hour only on expressway’s! Thank you.
Shiv - I was very happy w/3 sets of Rosso 3s and they'd be a fine choice for your Duke 250. Tire life varies a lot. Given what you've described - gentle throttle w/a 250 - you might get 6k. I think 4k on the rear and potentially 6k on the front is doable - but not 100%. Safe riding.
2024 here!! Why'd you stop man, one of to most genuine moto youtubers out there.
Thanks for commenting. I'll be producing more videos later this year.
@@atastefortheroad4475 wonderful! I just found your channel today and I love your demeanor and reviews. They are great!
130k miles on my 2009 XKR. Love it!
Glad to hear you're really enjoying the XKR.
Great road,great country,no traffic,similar to s.e.australia,green after plenty of rain,great video,cheers!
Agreed - thanks for commenting. Happy New Year!
So basicly Diablo Rosso 3..is it a soft compound tire or medium compound tire What's your opinion ? Thanks for the feedback
It's medium at the center and softer to either side. If you're heavy w/the throttle they won't last as long. I liked the 3 sets I've had - road holding, feel, noise, etc. - as a sport tire. Putting on a set of Rosso 4s now, so I'll be interested to see how they compare. I definitely recommend them. Happy Holidays.
Got my coupe in September this year and for the first time I love the idea of getting in my car , and get genuinely mift when I have to turn it off
I hear you. It's a lovely machine. Congrats on the purchase and Happy Holidays!
Thanks so much for this fun and informative review. After this I’m 100% this will be my next bike. I’ve had a few junk bikes to learn on since i started at the beginning of covid. Now I feel it’s time to get serious. I was looking at the following factors - Support and suitability for beginner to int rider. - practicality for me and a pillion - price range - my ability to grow as a rider - fun - go anyway ability And i think this bike comes out on top. It will go anywhere with ample low end torque. Its like a diesel tank. It is off road ready with its wheel size and spokes and grunt and tires and theres plenty of room for me to grow as a rider on it. Honestly (it may be that I’m a newer rider) I never felt it’s lack of power. Especially when compared to my previous 300 250 and 155 cc bikes. I think this will work for me. At least until I’m ready for the next step.
You're welcome and happy hunting for YOUR bike! Happy Holidays as well.
Thanks for the video and scenery. I have a new (to me) V7 Racer and will be heading out to Snickersville Turnpike and The Plains on a weekend soon.
Congrats on the V7 Racer! Yes - Route 734 is really nice, as is Route 626 to the Plains. I also enjoy heading thru Marshall and then north to Rectorstown and down into Delaplane. Lots of great roads for you and the V7. Enjoy and safe riding!
You go to prison for speeding? I own one of these and it’s typically Italian. You’re just another American guy who doesn’t get it.
Is it just me or does it seem like the front tire is going the wrong direction? I just put a set on my Kawasaki Z900. It seems like the front tire will direct the water to the center of the tire.
SO MUCH information here for a potential buyer. Thank you!
Martin - you're welcome. I still own and thoroughly enjoy my 1200s, so if you find a nice one w/a full service history - pull the trigger. And outside of a fuel level sensor going south - I've had not issues w/the bike. Happy hunting!
Hello! Thanks for your videos. I've got a 2019 Monster 1200.... it's my pride, joy, and the thing that makes me the most happy in life. It's at 39,500 miles now 😱 and while your long term review from 2019 said you'd had absolutely no problems, I'm sorry to say that I don't think that's the norm and it definitely hasn't been my experience. I'm guessing your long term review from 2019(?) was done at a time when your bike didn't have a TON of miles on it. I'm curious to know what, if any issues you've had with your Monster in the last 4 years and I have a couple of other questions. 1. Why did your Monster 1200 videos stop in 2021? Where's the bike?!? 😃 2. The Duc Pond in Winchester is no longer an authorized Ducati service shop. Do you know why this happened and where do you take your bike now? Like many of us in the DC/MD/VA area, I struggle to find competent service shops. I can't even start on my sagas with Coleman's. Thank you!
Hi Rachel - thanks for reaching out. I continue to love my 1200s and I'm at almost 18k. The only problem I've had so far is my fuel level sensor failing twice. This affects a number of Ducatis, particularly the Multi. Sorry to hear about the issues you've had w/your Monster. Well done on the mileage! My videos stopped because my mom got sick in late 2020 (not COVID) and my brother and I worked for 2 yrs to stabilize her health w/o success, as she passed in 2022. Her post life affairs took time as well into 2023. I do plan to make more video reviews on bikes, cars, & SUVs, probably starting in 2024. I'm in the middle of a career change and this is taking extra time. Ducati Winchester and Ducpond - I'm currently trying to get ahold of Donnie on FB to see if he can perform my 18k service. Someone from the Mid-Atlantic Ducati group mentioned he's still doing work at the facility. If I can book and complete an appointment I will circle back around. If I don't get a response from Donnie w/in a week, I'm going to reach out to Bob's in Jessup, MD. They've been a fantastic BMW dealership for decades and they added Ducati earlier in the year. They already have several techs trained to Level 2 and will have more by year's end. If I go this route, I can also circle back around. I have never cared for Coleman's and would never use them for service, despite how close they are for me. I hope this answers your questions and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Cheers, Scott
Great review, really enjoyed it
Timothy - thank you.
“Pressure on my knees” of course you do😂
Soft spring like a pillow! 😂
One thing is for sure if he goes to sell this bike , buy it! Never over 3k rpm’s!
After hearing 2 minutes of this guy, I don’t want to ever buy another Ducati!!!!!!
Need new bars
Great review. However, please stop calling this a truck. Nothing about the Cayenne is a truck
Great review!
Got one for my grom
I like the angel gts on my zx14r. Im trying to decide what to do with my rear on my diavel. I wish they made angel gts for my diavel.
Yes - tire choices for the Diavel aren't the best and the Angel would be nice, as it would last longer.
Difficile de faire plus beau que cette voiture.
JM - I'd agree. A very underrated car.
I love these cars, but something about all the 55 AMG cars that just have my heart. Thats the era of AMG I grew up with. Not to mention, great reliability
I appreciate your comment. This motor is fantastic and will always be remembered.
Hello, very good video. I have noticed that you drive the moto guzzi at a very high RPM and that the red light constantly comes on to change gear. Unlike Japanese motorcycles, the Guzzi are low to intermediate RPM motorcycles. These motorcycles like to go between 3000 and 4000 RPM, for example the Moto Guzzi V7 lll at 80 km/h the tachometer indicates 3000 rpm and at 100 km/h it indicates 3750 RPM and I have noticed in most of the video that you ride in 4 gear at 5000 RPM with the red shift light on. It is better to change to 6 gear and have the engine run smooth and at a happy low RPM. Greetings from Costa Rica Central America. Owner of a V7lll stone
hey sir how much do you know about the cost of ownership for these cars in MD? I do not see too many around so I always assumed they were incredibly unreliable or expensive? Do you know any owners and their experiences? Would this be comparable to a a5/S5 in ownership?
Ewiouh - while maintenance costs will vary, based on the car's condition, I would think it's comparable to an Audi S5. My recommendation would be to join the national Jaguar Club and a regional one too. Network w/them and be searching the classifieds. I'd also talk w/some indie Jaguar service specialists - based on what you want: 4.2 vs 5.0 and supercharged vs not. Happy hunting!
Great comments well done
Wow, what a great riding area! Nicely done review. Presently on a Trident 660 which I love but I think this bike (now the Speed Twin 900) speaks to me more.
Adam - yes, Middleburg, VA is very nice. The 900 is a soulful, approachable machine - particularly w/the mods I mention. Find a nice used one and you'll have a great machine. Happy holidays.
❤️
What tire pressure did you use?
Ken - I use the Ducati factory specs. So, 33 in the front and 36 in the rear.
