Indonesia's Economic Success: At What Cost?
How did Indonesia suddenly become one of the most important countries in the world?
Indonesia is projected to become the 4th largest economy in the world in the coming decades.
Nickel is one of the critical minerals used in EV batteries, and Indonesia is blessed with rich nickel deposits. But the price of nickel is actually controlled by China.
A shocking event that happened in March 2022 at the London Metal Exchange reveals the truth...
At the same time, environment damage and increased poverty draw our attention to the true cost, which resembles the Dutch colonial rule in Indonesia...
This fascinating 8 min video finally connects all the dots.

Is China Already In Great Depression?
I’m not going anywhere though I longed to visit The UK and other countries…but don’t have enough money at the moment….anyway I’ve no intention to go abroad. I’m fine here.
To boom the Malaysian economy, Malaysia has to treat all of the citizens equally. That's why Singapore performing well than Malaysia 👍
The Great Reset messed it up
The Malay Dilemma is Envy, their worst enemy are themselves, but they constantly blame other races to supposedly "unite themselves" but usually ended up benefiting the rich amongst them not all of them, hence why most of them are still poor and lazy, thus making them more envious and their bigoted leaders will channel all this hate towards other races especially the Chinese
The problem with the malays race is the perception of their inherent superiority, this made them complacent and dogmatic hence why people in Johor identify themselves as Johoreans "the Johor race" and not malay
😂
Hallelujah!!! I’m the favorite, $60,000 every week! Now I can afford anything and also support the work of God and the church….😊
Oh really? Tell us more! Always interested in hearing stories of successes.
It's only natural for wealthy people to levitate towards a more developed and safe haven. Now with the declining population Singapore also needs to absorb new immigrants. Migrants are essential for the rejuvenation of any aging society. I strongly believe that we are moving in the right direction.
no!!! it not the britain faults it the government
Malaysians leave bcoz all the jobs are hogged by native Malays. They snatched every opportunity claiming to be superior race. This apartheid policies results in incompetent and mega embezzlements. 😂
Visited Malaysia a few months ago. Beautiful country with good food. Too bad it was ruined by Muslims.
Han supremacists are not happy being ruled by darker skinned people
YEAH IT IS TRUE THAT ALL UK FAULTS
I ❤ Malaysia
run out of stolen Polish gold, did ya?
Singapore is often criticized for racial disparities, with most senior management positions being held by either foreigners or individuals of Chinese descent. However, the country’s success demonstrates that it’s not about race but about effectively managing human resources.
It's not same. Singaporean are competant. Native malays get easy degrees are race based uni. Result, complete disaster.
@ Are you singaporean?
@@rasmuz8361 They lack competence and are not significantly different from Malaysians. Many are working tirelessly in Singapore under demanding conditions to meet requirements, often with little regard for their well-being or humanity.
terpaling isleeeyyyyy
The Malays were the only ethnic group to actively resist British rule. The British brought in Chinese and Indian communities to work and, in some cases, oppose the Malays. This historical context explains why the Malays have taken time to fully accept these races, as they were once seen as being aligned with British colonial interests.
The root cause lies with the British, often viewed as agents of chaos in this context. They disrupted entire regions by sending their convicts to the USA and Australia, destabilized systems in New Zealand, and exploited Malaysia’s natural resources to fuel their own development.
For those who want to leave, just go. You guys don't learn the history thats why you talk shit about malays meanwhile malays generations always generous and tolerate to chinese and indian here. If you still be ungrateful then you can go back to your lands. You guys no nothing about malay struggles.
ok Mazi
@@hybridtheory_69 Baiklah pendatang tak sedar diri
Dia macam ni....rumah kau... Suka hati kau lah nak buat rules apa... Yang pendatang kena ikut lah... Tak suka boleh blah😂
Interesting that the narrator blames British colonialism for the ethnic divide in Malaysia, but I can find no record of people being denied opportunities based on race. Indeed there are very successful bumi putras and Tamils if they are motivated to get off their collective backsides and work for their own success. If the subsidies were working, why would ethnic Malays be leaving in droves? It is because the type of discrimination that is institutionalised in Malaysia never works. Add to that the support for terrorist regimes. Wow. Isn't that a beacon for tourism and foreign investment? Well, no. It is the opposite. The audio says "Singapore eliminated all race-based policies"............ well, why hasn't Malaysia? Want to blame Britain for that, too?
. Gov initiatives to combat this controversial made up bias by kiasu and kiasi. 1. Gov encourage more non malay work in Gov sector but was not helpful due to low salary than the private. 2. Increase of quota in funding to chauvinist schools exam: Tamil and Chinese. 3. More quota for non bumi/malay for indigenous universities. What do Gov get!? Malaysian who can't speak Proper Malay. Demandable non bumi want to buy land with low prices. Calling indigenous malay as pendatang and non original while at the same time doesn't give a shit about ORANG asli and their habitable environment.
Just focus n work toward your goal find greener pastures elsewhere you will be highly appreciated n respected. Don't waste your time over issues that is not going to improve nor help.
Malaysia is a country.....based on race n religion...
Why don't you make cars empowered by solar energy so you can leave Africa alone. in 2050 , 1 human out 2 on this planet will be African, and you better believe the future African younger generation will command to take ownership of their economy including their own resources and EV vehicles production in their own hands. These non sense deals wont't sustain for long.
Its not the British fault. The British did a good job at persuading the Malay leaders ( those who are Anglophiles ) which they engineered to run the country at Independence to grant citizenship to 40 % of the population who were not Citizens to have Citizenship in 1957. These were immigrants or their children born in Malaya. The moderate Malay political Malay leaders was also sensible as they cannot expect the British and the migrant origin countries to repatriate the migrant population which was about 2 million people in 1957. So there was certain political compromises made that certain protection to the Malays and other indigenous ethnics. For this the migrant groups got full citizens voting rights full participation in political sphere and economics as citizens. And could passed on their Citizenship to their Children. This was in contrast to Burma, Sri Lanka Uganda and Hong Kong where non indigenous migrant groups were not granted citizenship and some remain Stateless some were granted.British Overseas Subject status with no right to enter UK or remain thereat. Can you imagine the British of 60 million people today granting another 20 million or so migrant workers and their children citizenship almost overnight with the right to vote and become MPs ?
Thousands yes, but not MILLIONS hahaha
We have Xperts on bla bla bla :-$:-$:-$:-$
I thought only Force have a dark side. 🤔
Oi Econ, if you worry about someone, you actually weaken them. If you take someones own responsibility away, you actually harm them. You blaming yourself and taking our focus for that whinery is nothing short of narcissistic. Try to think about other people, not yourself.
06.18 Yeah you are absolutely right : mereka berbicara dalam bahasa mereka masing-masing 🤣 Don't you know that their constitution is written in English not in Malay or Mandarin or Tamil
Malaysia is a Key country in Asia for IT Developement along with Japan and South Korea.TRUELY ASIA II
Not true, only low value work is done in Malaysia.
you forget one thing,in Malaysia, there is parti Islam se Malaysia PAS,a political party that will put alcoholic sale to and end,and will implement hudud syariah law to prevent adultery,as the slogan is 'membangun bersama Islam', development together with Islam, this party will focus more on moral, social issues such as adultery, and will prevent it through hudud law, rather than focusing on building big buildings that bring no benefits to people.
Nobody gets attacked in Malaysia while walking streets. Nobody faces religious racism in work places. Nobody gets dehumanised in media..
Not one of your claim is anything other than a lie.
Just came back from malaysia for holiday. Im muslim indian origin. So offer a unique perspective. I can see the divide between the 3 pples - chinese, indian and malay. I spoke to locals living there about life. Its clear that malays get favouritism abive tge other 2. At the ground routes like tge marketplaces i did see the divide I e. Malays with malays, indian with indians etc. I noticed that a lot of tge low level / hard manual labour jobs were done by the indians e.g. construction It appeared to me the chinese were doing better i.e. looked like business pple. Malays seemed in the middle. At night I seen beggers, drugs etc... I wanted to know as a desi muslim if I ever come to this land to live, how it would be for me. Unfortunately I got the impression it would be very hard, i would be discriminated against, even though I am a muslim. I also noticed the langauage divide how malays could speak good english, but the chinese and especially indians couldnt, made me think is the schooling system different between the 3 races. Overall i wasbt pleased witg this injustice and racism - completely unislamic, so was very disappointed.
Thank you for sharing
as a Malay Muslim born here in 1979. grew up here and immersed in community life here. I am very grateful for the atmosphere here. Malays are the majority here and Islam is the official religion. here there is no compulsion in religion. we are free to do our own worship. Hari Raya Korban, we can slaughter cows without worry. we can go anywhere without worrying about caste. the racist nature that exists in the Chinese people has been sown by politicians. as well as Indians. without political influence the people of Malaysia are united. democracy that was brought and forced by the British in the independence agreement, brought bad things to Malaysia. malaysia is conditionally independent. which condition is an evil plan from the British. you are satisfied
I hope you learn about our history first about why malay got speaciality. Fun fact, malays generation have been to generous to chinese and indian. Just some of them be ungrateful and think malay discriminate meanwhile they are the one to conqure us here.We don"t want to be like palestine or malays in singapore. Learn first before assume something bad about malays.
@SitiNurhanim don't be offended I'm just saying what I saw and heard. Also I have looked into the history, the colinisation period, the malacca sultanate and since. No country is perfect. Malaysia is defo the best country I've visited so far. Everywhere has its pros and cons tho.
@Zia-or6fo That's why we can't assume something. You don't know chinese politics in malaysia still have hidden agenda as communist. Funfact, there are a lot of chinese and indian in here trying to test malay patiences. They don't accept malay as the owner of the land. Chinese want to make this like China 2.0...and indian claim they are the indigenious people of Tanah Melayu. I'm not hate to all of them. I believe some of them are good people, they accept the truth facts and they are a true malaysian. I can't tell everything here cause my english is not good. Hope one day you will understand why malay still have the special matters.
I love Malaysia.
I want to migrate now. Sick of ...
Good riddance
@@haishhaihhh9137 That racist attitude is why we failed at Independence.
It’s quite amusing to see how a video such as this can so easily lure all the racists into one place and allows them to use this as a platform to project their unhealthy, uneducated and backward views. Frankly, it is pointless arguing with those who can’t even string a few civilised sentences together except to tell others to “emigrate”or “leave”! I’m quite surprised that UA-cam hasn’t taken this video off! Malaysia was built by Malaysians and by Malaysians, I mean all tax payers regardless of race. It is not built by one single race. Malaysia won’t be the country it is today without the Malays, the Chinese, the Indians etc working together! Instead of creating a weak link between the multi cultural and racial groups, we should be focusing on strengthening the link in order that the country can become stronger. For our Malay friends here, I understand you’re patriotic but regardless of what you say, the Chinese and Indians did play a huge role in helping to shape Malaysia and they still are playing a big role. You can’t possibly deny them the credit. Without them, Malaysia would not be what it is today. Look around you, what makes Malaysia different and special? The multiculturalism! Put politics aside. Politics sucks, not just in Malaysia, it sucks everywhere! And don’t bother leaving a rude comment here as I won’t read it and therefore, you definitely will not get a response .
no, this is not the british fault. that's preposterous. this is their choice. to discriminate their own citizens for something they have no control over: their skin color. The whole country suffers as a result. And lies consistently spread from the religious groups to ensure racism is alive and well. Maybe in 50-100 years, they will finally realize that their own citizens are not from China or india, but from Malaysia and shares the same culture. Maybe.
Hatred and bigotry for all things and people that are non-Malay. It's a Malay problem really. That's the biggest reason.
Not true I am contented in Singapore!!!!!!
Malaysia is a racist country! The constitutions are based on racial lines and written into laws that they're allowed to discriminate against non- malay!
a lot of people are leaving because marijuana is not legal..
Grow up wanker!
Malays stop them coming to Australia not welcome holiday somewhere else migrant to Afghan
Singapore is not good throw your pink IC away
dumb video
Why?
The two biggest problems with Malaysia are Islam and the hate filled Malays who are devoid of any work ethic. The guy speaking at 3:36 sums up Malay racism perfectly and the scary thing is, it's getting worse.
Islam isn't the problem. And the hatred is mostly at the dharmic extremists that even have beef with the weebs that's basically one of our response to combat racism
@@leaflight7903 Islam is a problem wherever it exists.
What the Malays of Malaysia did and still doing to the minority races is the same as what Israel and USA did to muslims in middle east. Truely the case of I-carry-bigger-stick-then-you-so-I-can-do-whatever-I-like-to-you-and-you-have-no-say-ha-ha.
That's not what happened at all. At independence the Malays were in a minority.
Strange that the Malays claim to be the indigenuos folks of Malaysia when their ancestors are from Indonesia, Old Siam, Philippines, the Indochinese states and as far as India. It is as if they are self proclaiming to be under-educated in regard to historical facts.
They treat the ethnic people like crap, that is until they manipulate statistics by calling them fellow bumis to make it look like they make up a larger precentage than the Chinese and Indian Malaysians. The reality is Malays only make up 57% and Islam is not as widespread as claimed.
