The government would sooner spend money on foreign aid rather than on infrastructure. Its a Rich country giving poor peoples tax money to rich people in poor countries.
Good informtion piece but could also have mentioned tax payers money used for: -propping up defence industry -state sponsored privatization (gas, water and rail). -subsidies for the royal family. -MP allowances for free travel ,chauffers and accommodation. -Off shore bank accounts.
The double standards that are playing out in this country is astounding, British citizens are now second class and at the back of the queue when it comes to housing, two tier law enforcement and security unless you are one of the elites and yet we have to pay for the privilege of having out of control government policies. How s it that we spend more money securing Israel’s foreign borders than we do our own and keep letting these people just stroll into the country and get what they want.
My family came from extreme poverty living in a metal shack on the banks of a canal, we had no benefits, just shere hard work and moral living. We nwver stole, even when we had no food and only spent what we could afford. We still paid rent rent for the metal shack.
I think that this is a curse from the US, since inequality has risen there and wages have stagnated earlier. It may be because it is easy for the British government to adopt American policies because they speak the same language and share a lot of the same alliances
@allykhan8594 when what they should have done is freeze everything, not give handouts to cover the "cost of living" and help people economise. But Labour wouldn't have it any other way.
50% taxes raised goes to welfare and benefits, that is £269,000,000,000 & £80,000,000,000. And that what is destroying the country. You want a free life and making it an entitlement. More free money for economic inactivity and dependency.
Why on earth use annual earnings? You have to pay rent or mortgage and food and trav etc no one uses 100% of their salary or wage for buying a house. Very misleading
The UK government's actions and policies have systematically damaged the country from within. Through xenophobic immigration policies, erosion of civil liberties, economic mismanagement, and divisive rhetoric, the government, helped by the media, has undermined the nation's social cohesion, economic stability, and democratic institutions. This self-inflicted damage demonstrates that a country can be severely harmed by its own leadership. You don't need war to destroy a country. A government can do that on its own.
You are absolutely right, mini budget is not mini at all! Because the budget was "cancelled", it caused short term financial turmoil but it is not as detrimental as 2008 QE.
just going to say it now britain is a third world country attached to london with failing infrastructure

Tax wealth and assets. We need to get the money from QE back from ultra rich.

Socialism for the rich, capitalism and hunger games for the poor

This is why we need a wealth tax and we need to stop billionaires and megacorporations from putting their money into tax havens.
Coporate welfare has always been the most generous welfare all round?!
Melvin King blamed the Bank of England on TV, he was the governor of BOE 😂😅
BOE just followed the US fed
@@user-hs4ei27BoE funded the US FED before the US was a thing.
He blamed them for raising interest too late and too slow.

Almost 33% of GDP is over spending. Almost 50% of gdp is Gov spending and 15% gdp is borrowed money. You are already bust but your not getting it.

Love a bit of doom and gloom.
I don't buy the lending to sub prime borrowers causing the crash argument.
Watch "The big short" you may change your mind.
I hate most films but that I enjoy as it explains the sub prime debt crisis
