Neon Nail Art Tutorial
Welcome back and I'm sorry I've been absent over the last few months. My father passed away and I'm having a hard time getting my creative juices going. Please be patient with me! I hope to post more looks for you soon!
Saying that, I needed something with so much colour that it was going to make me happy just looking at it and brighten up my day so what better way to do that than with some Neon Nail Art!
This one is out of my comfort zone but boy has it really grown on me and I have received so many compliments! This neon nail art tutorial is easy-peasy! Make any shapes you want - there are no rules!

How to Make Glitter Ombre Nails using Chrome Flakes
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 місяці тому
When I was working on this manicure, I didn't know what to call it! I found some inspiration from a photo not realizing what this nail art was called! LOL I've decided that this set is a Glitter Milky Ombre using Chrome Flakes, or as GelMoment calls it, Precious Flakes. Or should we call them Peekaboo Nails or a Hidden Face with Chrome Flakes. I'm still undecided! If you have a name suggestion,...

      I think so! You will loose a bit of the frost colour with the solar on it though as there is a milky (but a bit sheer) look to it but saying that, you can try some nail art on top with the Solar powder!

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 3 місяці тому

      Most of our chromes does not need a clear coat first applied. Some of our holographic chromes do. You can apply and cure your colour and then use the Clearly Frisky clear gel polish and cure that, then apply the chrome to make it easy so that you don’t have to keep track which of our chromes need it or not. I was just trying to eliminate a step for those that have some of these chromes colours

    How long did you cure each time and how did you clean the polish off the sponge?

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 3 місяці тому

      Great questions! Because the ombre coats are extremely thin, I cured it for about 10-15 seconds each time and when I was happy with the results I did a full cure of the ombre. As for cleaning the sponge, you want to stay away from using any chemicals. You can't really clean the sponge but I dabbed the excess off on a lint free wipe until no more polish was coming off on the wipe. This way you can use the sponge again with similar colours for your next ombre!

    I always just sacrifice all nails by filing down. I mostly have nail splitting issues, or breakage so I file them all. Right now I just have one shorter than the rest because I refuse to file them all the same length this time around. I want to try builder get though.

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 4 місяці тому

      I hear your stuggles! I have 2 nails in particular that peel all the time...it's just their physical makeup. I put the builder gel (Clear Gel Extend) as a base on them before I play around with nail art and it keeps my nails nails strong and peel free! It's also common for me to have nails that tear (especially now because they are longer) and having Gel Extend as a base really helps prevent those too! I'm with you! I don't want to sacrifice the rest of my nails just because one of them breaks. You should try it! If you have any questions, please reach out! I'd love to help!

    I’ve used Gel Extend under my manicure for the first time and love it. I naturally have soft peeling nails. But I find it difficult getting my polish off …I’m using Flake Off. Any tips?

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 5 місяців тому

      Yup! There are a couple of things you can do. One - use the coarse side of your file to remove as much polish as you can without hitting your natural nail bed. Try using the flake off then and remove what you can and reapply. I personally love using our Gentle Care Remover pads for removing Gel Extend. I find they work so much better than Flake Off when removing Gel Extend

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails Місяць тому

      All you would have to do is shorten your stroke for nail art and adjust accordingly for the space you do have :). It’s the technique that I’m sharing so it should work for all nail lengths. Sorry I didn’t respond earlier! I didn’t this this comment!

    Were you a nail artist before you started with GelMoment? Your tutorials are always so informative. What I especially like about your tutorials is you do this on your own nails and not on nail sticks. This gives us a much better idea of how easy or hard this is to do.

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 5 місяців тому

      Hey Carol! I actually was not a nail artist before I started with GelMoment. Before I would literally polish solid colour manicures on my nails! Being with GelMoment has really opened up my eyes to the potential of what you can do with nail art! Back in the day I did draw a bit, but that was just on paper so maybe some of those talents have come over onto my nails? I can’t really say lol😅 I know that doing nail art on a nail stick and on your own nails can be quite different, so I really do try to create videos with me doing nail art on my own nails. You will see an occasional video here and there on nail stick because the polish lasts so long so I want to get more videos out there more frequently so I use a nail stick , but I will always do my best to get it on natural nails first.😊

    Thanks for the links. I received the “dauber” for my birthday. Just wondering - do you ever clean the sponge ends?

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 5 місяців тому

      Great question! I have read that if you use rubbing alcohol to clean it, that it will affect the composition of the sponge. So I don’t clean it with any kind of chemicals, but what I do do is tap it onto a lint free wipe to get the excess polish off and I just keep dabbing it until the majority of the polish is out of the sponge.

    • @JD-ll6df
      @JD-ll6df 5 місяців тому

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 5 місяців тому

      @@JD-ll6dfI would not use it unless it’s dry. It’s is a lint free wipe but let the pad dry first and then you can dab the sponge onto it. The wet alcohol can affect the sponge

      Oh no! It shouldn’t have taken that long! Are you ensuring that when you are doing the fade you are doing the same steps on all the fingers of the hand that you are working on? For example, if you are working on your left hand and applying the first coat of the fade with the sponge, do all 4 fingers. When I was making this video and doing only one finger at a time is does take much much longer ;)

    I bought a couple of bottles of this stuff for the first time and there sure doesn’t seem to be a lot of product in the bottle. Like not much is on the brush each time you dip into the bottle. 😢

    • @SylviaSimplySassyNails
      @SylviaSimplySassyNails 6 місяців тому

      Did you get the new formula? The bottle has a little rubber stopper, similar to a mascara bottle, to prevent air from getting it to keep it from drying out prematurely. Saying that, with this rubber stopper in there, it does prevent a lot of the Flake Off from getting on the brush so you do have to dip into the bottle a few times to get the correct amount of product on the nail.
