Would love to unbox one myself! 🎉
saving up!
engine, motor used?
@@glaysonmestre We make our own, actually. It's a 120kv 5kw max inrunner linked to a silent, instant engagement transmission (also our design). You can check out some of the details on our site.
@@chimerabmx Is this engine more powerful than those 1000w electric bike engines?
@@glaysonmestre A LOT more powerful. We run the bike at 3800W max stock. Check out our video of the bike climbing Baxter Street - a 32% gradient! Since making that video we've improved the battery performance substantially so the torque is even higher now.
@@chimerabmx very interesting, very unlucky for me, you are not from Brazil, I really wanted one of these I saw your sites very interesting I researched several model aircraft engines here but none come close to yours I even asked GPT chat there is nothing here, not even engines of battery-powered equipment
I feel it should have 2 walls on the outside. Those ribes coulb be eliminated. And weight saved with strength gained
Owning the shadow someday will be a literal dream come true. 😂 I NEED this bike so bad dude. Hoping I can keep enough change in the old savings jar to hopefully scoop one up. This is my dream bike, no doubt.
Where can I buy this

Loving this development. Personally I'd rather see a slower more torque pedal assist version with a smaller battery that reflects how BMXers ride today en route to trails etc. Eg 5 or 6 pedal strokes up to 15mph then cruise till speed drops and repeat. With the engine making those pedal strokes easier. Would be far safer for all (especially pedestrians) and way more fun. Just pop up to cruising speed, ready for manuals, kerb jumps etc and once at trails take the battery off and it's time to analogue it on a sta Dard weight bike.
Freaking epic!
👌❤👍
72v please
okay so wtf
@@ChunkDunkers 😎
Looking awesome Chimera. Can't wait to get my hands on a titanium hopefully soon! (Please send me one). The fact that the bike is only 37lbs and still hits crazy fast speeds with incredible torque is absurd. Keep it up, Chimera!
Super loud .... and does it hill climb?? 1000watt gub motors only cost 200 bugs
@@HelmutKreuzer-j8g It dominates hills. Check out our video climbing a 32% incline throttle only.
it is not instantaneous engagement, you forgot to mention that it gives a spongy feeling when engages which feels wierd after classic paw mechanisms. and there is no difference in free stroke between sprag and classic systems with paws if last one have more than 120 points of engagement.
@@jeffryLebovskyWhat sprag product did you use that felt spongy? Onyx Racing hubs offer instant and perfectly stiff engagement. Our setup does as well. Maybe the product you were using had sprags that weren't suited for the torque. Interested to know.
@@chimerabmx it was onyx vesper. can`t say that it was unridable or it was bad, it just felt weird. and compared to, for example, rf vault or any other 6 paw hub (100+ engagement points) onyx definitely had more flex. You are saying that it has "perfectly stiff engagement" but can`t agree with that at all. Sprag hubs are pretty heavy and pricy. The only bebefit of sprag is silence in my opinion. And it is the only reason people buy it, because classic hubs are annoyingly noisy. It will be interesting to see how sprag performs in trial, we need danny macaskill or fabio wibmer to test it))
@@jeffryLebovskyInteresting you mention the Vesper. It uses a combo of 432Z and 432Z2 sprag. The Z is a 12mm but the Z2 is only 7mm wide, and can't handle as much torque. That's part of how they're able to make that hub lighter. By contrast, their other MTB hubs use a double 432Z system, which is substantially stronger. Try one sometime and see if you still feel a sponginess. For our purposes, noise is definitely an issue. Having a motor system with two pawel engagements together with the rear hub would sound like churning gravel 😂. But also we're well below the torque load spec for the pawls we use on the motor. So it feels stiff and instant for this use-case.
@@chimerabmx as i said earlier it is not a big problem, i think i can quickly get used to that. It was my first opinion when i tried it on my friends bike. onyx hubs are not very popular in my country, my friend had to pay about 1k usd for hub set and wait it for about 3 month. but silence.... it is something underrated, felt fantastic after my chainsaw sounding hub) hope i will try onyx classic heavy variant one day.
I only want 20 inches. not 24 inches.
It would almost be worth all of the injuries that I'd get from one. 😄This is awesome.
you guys should make a kit to make any kind of normal bmx and make it electric
@@CheeseWater124 There are already kits on the market. Check out the CYC kits for example. The drawbacks to doing it this way are substantial. Kits tend to be less durable and more expensive overall.
I want to see it on a hill... if it beats a 200$ chinese 1000watt hub motor , i will buy it . 😮
Ha! Check out our old video of climbing Baxter street throttle-only. That's a 32% incline - one or the steepest hills in the U.S. And that was before we increased the stock power.
brutal..!❤
I love the rainbow bolts 👍🏾
Would be dope if you guys made e-Lowrider bikes 😂I would definitely buy one 👍🏾

Awesome 👍
Holy heaven!!! How do I get my hand on this. 1987 born. Rode BMX my entire life. I'll take a 21" top tube! Big boy bars..I'm 6ft! Lol
So what is the range for each?
@@adamnjethro4080 52v = between 8 and 20 miles. 36V = between 20 and 40 miles. This range is if you're using THROTTLE ONLY. The bike pedals just as easily as any other bmx without motor assistance. So most riders get much farther range sometimes pedaling, sometimes throttling, and sometimes both.
@@chimerabmx yall have plans on making a 29er bmx? Bikelife would love that!
@@adamnjethro4080 Not at present. As wheel size increases, overall efficiency of torque transfer decreases. This 24" is actually an excellent balance between torque and speed.
Should make a 2 seater
You should make a 2 seater for around the price of the new one
Amazing bike😊 how much this ebike and where buy
Silent cassette for stealth missions.
@@Asiandynamo The first prototype had a silent cassette. That was our original plan but it was terrifying for pedestrians because they wouldn't hear it coming!
@@chimerabmx saving up to buy one. Currently it’s more expensive than my KLR.
AMAZING!!!
Ever since I learned about these belts, I always wondered if they can be used on a bmx. Thank you for sating my curiosity, it's a very clean build.
@@goosmdoosm4755 Thank you! The GT belts have held up phenomenally. So far, we haven't had to replace a single one - not even on the original prototype that's been running for years. But even when the belt needs to be replaced - it's cheap and easy.
