Growing up I never really had a system for getting the most out of a book. Sometimes I would just read the book, finish it, and move on. Other times I took sporadic notes in Microsoft OneNote. But in the last 2 years I have landed on a system that seems to work, and it involves Readwise and Obsidian.
In this video I break down my process for taking notes on what I read, and then the steps I take to maximise memory and longevity of my digital notes.
I make use of Obsidian to store my digital notes, but the steps discussed are universal, it doesn't matter what notetaking tool you use.
