Space Engineers: Remote Guided Missiles
A pretty basic hydrogen ship which carries up to 6 Missiles. Ideally this would be flown by 2 people: a pilot and a gunner / missile operator. The missiles are attached to the ship with one button and are fired simply by taking control of its remote block. The warhead is automatically detonated when in close proximity to an enemy. Maximum range of the missile is only limited by the antenna range, which on small ships is 50 kilometers without mods.
I wonder if I could make this home on moving ships with my raydar script...
Music is from Apache: Air Assault soundtrack.

It's weird to see how much I've progressed over 4 years. I still need more practice, The animation is not as fluid as I'd like it to be and the rig is kinda hard to work with. I also need to learn how to add audio effects to my animations. Made with Blender 2.83
Space Engineers: Mech animator script test 2

The walk cycle on this is much better than the previous attempt, it can also crouch and is much more stable, though it still lacks auto gyro stabilization code. Got it to run at about 10 m/s without all the extra equipment (the drills are filled with over 18k stone in the video). Music: ua-cam.com/video/sHq-jVeCkgg/v-deo.html
Mesh Based Aerodynamics in Godot

The same mathematical formula is used for calculating the aerodynamic force for each triangle of the plane's mesh, there is no separate designation for which part is a wing, rudder, etc.

It's still missing proper stopping functionality and the walking cycle needs some improvements. I will probably add gyro stabilization too.
Space Engineers: Raydar-turret defense network test
Переглядів 4344 роки тому
In the first test, the raydar was in blind sweeping mode, which means that it just rotates and scans randomly for a target. In the second test, I set the raydar to point in the same direction as an interior turret, which turned out to be much more effective way of getting a lock. After the raydar gets a lock, it broadcasts the target data with an antenna, which is then received by the two liste...

The detection range is about 33 meters per camera. With 25 cameras, the range is about 830 meters. The scanning mode isn't very effective at long range, but it's very hard to lose the lock once it spots you.

Turns out that my rocket ripple script is compatible with my rotor turret script. :0

Me testing my rotor turret script. The guns are missing because they aren't exactly lined up with the 'shoulder' rotors.

I wasn't expecting the end
Add the planes back ❤
This is probably the smoothest walk of a mech I’ve ever seen. Nice job
Kinda wish this was a real thing for single player
Well hello Lai
This is amazing work... any tips?
only the PCPD special has the police scanner chatter for some reason... i wish all of the cop cars in this game did
Does this use the 'panel method' described in numerous CFD papers?
If not, is there still a way to model the effects each triangle may have on every other triangle? For example, if I place a perpendicular quad on the front of my airfoil can I expect to see a massive reduction in lift? Or is that perpendicular force just subtracted from the total forces?
Hi, this simulation is not based on cfd, I'm just performing basic vector math calculations based on velocity at the center of each triangle. However, I am also using raycasting to detect obstructions so yes, air resistance will decrease in most cases if something is placed in front of a surface. A proper cfd simulation would certainly give more accurate results. I've been reading a bunch about the subject but I don't have a good enough technical understanding of it yet to use it in my game. I also have to consider if the performance impact will be worth it, as the simulation has to run in real-time. I haven't heard of the panel method, looks interesting, I'll look into it.
I've moved this project into Unity engine since making this video, here's what it currently looks like if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/RnWvhvXr3Vg/v-deo.html
This is some top tier engineering. Wish me and my friend could make stuff that cool
Terrific video. Great way to experience Paradise in a new way. Have fun. See you in Paradise.
it s better then my
Clang wants to rip this thing apart, but it cannot.
Extraordinario work! You inspire me
He needs a name. How about Streamline?
Slipstream?
Really amazing
Does the mech’s legs stay still when stopping or do they go into a position?
Place the cockpit on the chest and paint it like Starscream
What 3D program are you using?
this is a game called space engineers
@@deathbypvt7435 Aah! A game! Is it like MechWarrior? Thank you 🤓 wait! Is it more of a 3D drawing program with the ability to add code for action/movements?
It's a mini atlas
the physics looks off. makes it look like he's walking underwater. if the gravity was more severe and negated that slow float effect. you'd need to rethink the whole mech.
USE BOOST BROOM BROOM MOTHER TRUKER
Great idea. That would be really helpful if its a cargo drone at your back. It uses a script or did you managed to make it functional just with sensor in vanilla?
Is this blueprint available on xbox? Im gessing no because of the script. I need to figure how to copy this movement on my BattleTech Axman im working
Workshop?
does it appear in the warning List?
Best I have seen so far. Fuk the clang though, use some tires : p
were can i get one!!!!!!
С автомата Откиснит...
I cant wait for gundams or full on yeagers
This car is amazing 😍
Can you use a gear for the feet? Like connect on contact and disconnect if you want to lift the foot?
Hmmmmmmmmm. Attack wing man drones?
Imagine having 4 of them like sundowner while flying thru space, a rocket launcher on each
Is it on the workshop?
*pacific rim music intensifies*
Are there police chases in single player on PS4?
Single player
That is a beautiful design, reactive sensors, looks where you look and all the utility you can ask for
I love the old school Mechwarrior music!
so, if i had to guess, the script takes the current speed of the mech and uses it to alter the walk cycle speed to avoid the feet slipping? That's a really cool concept if so
Please let me have this
Can we get our hands on this?
What resources would you recommend to get started scripting in SE?.
build a weapons platform with shielding
I started to wonder where I heard this music before, and I must say it's an excellent choice. Mechwarrior 4 was great.
how long did it take to do this?
Difficult to say, I worked on it on and off for months and I used my older attempt at this as a base, but if I had to make this again from scratch in one sitting I think I could probably do it in 48 hours. The most time consuming part was planning how the transformation would work and animating all the individual parts.
This is epic
Totally looked like mechassault at the start of the video
I WANT THIS
This is revolutionary. You can build yourself a shield or a battering device with this!
Is this a script? If so will you release it?
