13 Nights, 2800 miles. France, Switzerland and Italy. We were 2 up on a Triumph Sprint GT done during May in 2015. Planning all done via Google Maps, navigation by Google Maps, accommodation via booking.com and we used Scala Rider headsets. I highly recommend this easy method, signal seemed excellent everywhere.

Yeah that was good. I love my sprint st hybrid...its a 955 with 1050 engine, gauges and ECU. I have basically put the three sprints together to get rhe best of all three. The 6th gear of the GT with the lightness of the 955. I like your presentation, your speaking manner and your ideas are well thought out. Fair criticisms.. Ill however hang onto my sprint hybrid forever. I won't bore you with a full list however it has triple cup holders, a garage door opener, hidden air horns and three little buttons on the left switchgear to access rhe trip computer.. I have even ipenwd up the throttle body for better aor flow. Ill subscribe because i liked your calm considered style. Well done 11:30 11:32
@@armarra thank you so much and appreciate the feedback. Thoroughly intrigued about your hybrid! Sounds like one bike that does everything well. I miss the sprint, had a pan European but missed the sportiness of the sprint as a tourer for shorter journeys.
Your bike sounds great. I have 2 bikes now but thinking hard about an ST. What I haven't seen (which might be good) is how these bikes feel to the riders in hot climates. Not even sure if it's possible to get a good hot climate touring bike but figured it's worth searching.
2 Hands On The Grips It's Not What Your Test Included
the 2002 to 2007 600 f4i model is far better than the new cbr 600 f models
Good video an accurate one too. I’ve come from sports to slow me down, these are more than enough and extremely fun. Mine had suspension rebuilt by mct before owning it and resprung but deffo firm, I love it. Like you say get it on hood roads and it feels like you can push as hard as you like.
Such a good bike.
Agree with most of what you say. I had one. Impressive? Certainly. Could I suggest improvements? Not really. But I didn't fall in love with it in the way I usually do with my bikes. I usually keep them 6 years or so (the dealer had to crowbar me off my '01 Sprint ST 955i) but the GT was gone in 18 months. It never failed me but it just lacked intangibles. I doubt many bought a second one. There was no successor which tells a tale.
Errrrhhmmm 😅🤣
What is the difference between GT and GT SE ?
Not sure mate. My GT from memory came with full luggage (awesome) touring seat, touring screen. I recall one of the changes for that generation was longer wheel base
Aaaeeeee; aaeeeeeee; aaeeeeee; aaeeeeee...
Nice tour of Portsmouth my home town 😄
Great review cheers... Looking to get one post covid👍
I once owned a sprint ST, happy days. Some time later I had a test ride on the GT. If the ST was a racehorse then the GT was a carthorse, awful thing, couldn't wait to give it back!
The GT has so much lovely power. Love my GT.
A to B. Spare parts including spare engine available at very cheap costs. Great MPG. Happy days. Chuck a new piston kit in there every year if you want for just £60. Job done.
Nice review! I'm getting one of these in the next couple of weeks in neighbouring Gosport! Nice to see a review on roads I know 😅
Enjoy! Cracking bike
Errrm, pretty good video...errrm, very informative.... errrrm think I'll go buy one of these bikes now......errrm yeah. 👌
Top review .. I can't get over your insurance cost at 155 to 115 quid a month ... I have a 2016 Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster here in OZ and my fully comprehensive insurance is $1 AUD a day , so well under $400 AUD a year.. I'm looking at a 2011 model same colour as yours in great condition with 80 thou in K's on her for $4,900 AUD , thinking I might grab it at that price, seems a great bike for the buck!
Cheers Peter Its been a few years since I give up my Sprint for other bikes, I miss it so much (the versatility and quality of the luggage) that its likely I'll be getting another one at some point this year and getting rid of my Fireblade. They are great value and that 1050 engine is a pleasure
Thanks for the review. I've just bought one of these for commuting. Like you say it's great on fuel, very light and cheap to run. I know exactly what you mean about taking it on A roads and motorways. I had a NC 750 X for 3 years and found it great and economical but I didn't really need it for my short commute. Because I'm an old git my insurance is only £74! Maybe I'll get a 250 in a few years. Thanks again.
It makes the same horrendous noise as mine. And it’s done 10,000 fewer miles. It’s a strange vibration from the dash.
Love mine it's brill and you got best colour too! I do find the screen gives a lot of buffeting at head on winds
'Insurance is steep....6 points on my license....' 🤔🙄
Sorry bud was in a bad mood. Was a Great effort for a first go at reviewing. I have not done it so well done good for you hope you try again.

What a we shit !!! Ride the 'kin bike !!!!!! Whatt a pussy !!
I've loved the Sprint GT since it came to the US in 2011 (the only year for it over here). Now I'm finally getting one. Thanks for this video. Question for you: How do you record your audio for the GoPro? The clarity is excellent and I want to start vlogging from the saddle of my bike.
Hey Chris, thanks for the comment - I hope you enjoy your Sprint - I miss the long distance ability and luggage for the bike, my little Street Triple is lacking. As for the audio I am using a Drift camera with the purpose built plug in mic, which I tucked into my helmet and as you say, it works well. Best of luck!
How do you like your bike so far and what did you have before? Thank you
Pillion comfotrable - looking at buying a gt in April and doing a similar tour through that part for 3 months. Any issues with the bike or any recommendations? Great Vid
Thanks, that will be a good trip! Only minor issues I had were that the top box straps (that prevent the lid from going all the back) broke and one of my wing mirrors vibrated. Otherwise it was spot on, the panniers are excellent. Great for passenger, grab handles in a good place, good seat which is elevated so she wasnt just looking at the back of my helmet, so could appreciate the view
I always thought the art of the "group ride out" was to keep the bike behind you in your mirror - that way you slow down from the front and not speed up stupidly from the rear - or miss turnings - or miss stop points - and not display some c$*k stand over "my bike is faster than yours" - because its a group thing and not an individual thing. Overall a great video tho' enjoyed it - good filtering towards the end - but again - consider the group as not all may be comfortable with that skill...(that was yours at the end I know but it may happen during the ride too) Suppose the group organisers have a part to play here - as do the participants - and everyone should be looking out for everyone else no matter what the standard... Just say'in
Eerrrrrmmmmm? I was just wondering eerrrrrrmmmmm? Whether or not eeeerrrmmmmmmm? You could stop eeerrrrmmmmmm? Saying 'eeerrrrmmmmmm' all the eeerrrrrmmmmm, time.
Great video. Will have my first trackday there next spring and I'm already getting anxious.
Curve Ahead jealous, what a fantastic track! Take it Easy, take the day to get into it and build your confidence and ignore the idiots that shouldn't be in the novice group flying past (always plenty of them). You will feel liberated and addicted!!
Track day next month and I found myself watching your video once more. I think the main point I need to remember is to not get cocky.
Immediately quality alarm bells ringing about quality and attention to detail with finishing, we need more than just a good engine to get us from a to b....Germans knocking us about again....Brits not up to the job...eee baaah boring gum....
ffs sake blow yer nose!
my helmet would be a bit minging..
Nice review. Same with me about riding position - sitting too upright just doesn't feel right for me; I like being a little bit hunched over. Jumped on a GT last year and it was the best riding position I've ever had. Picking up a 2008 ST on Saturday. :)
Thanks Bob. Such a capable bike, enjoy!
Good review, I have a GT 2010 and have done over 35.000 miles across Europe. It's a great bike and wouldn't sell it for any price. Install Brembo brakes for that little extra ;-). For a great sound I fitted a Remus Hexacone exhaust.
That is some miles, great bike to do it on! I like the sound of the Remus, unleash the sound of that 1050 some more...
Excellent information, thanks for sharing. I am very close to buying a cbr600f abs 2011 black. Price is alright, but should.i take the.big jump and go z1000sx 2011 or vfr800,.decisions.. ^^
you have a boss bike
What you missed here brother is the design. Look at your steering head bolt and two front "triple tree" shock tops. Look at the 3 idiot lights and then the 3 gauges. Three head light configuration. Your GT has 3 bags in stock configuration. Three exhaust pipes! They could have made it 3 into 1 like the Japanese do on 4 into 1 styling, but they kept it a triple exhaust. They are ALL matching the motor which is a "Triple".... Groups of 3 design as in a "Triple" design. Find that on other bikes.... Nope, you just don't find that kind of mental approach to making a motorcycle be distinct from other bikes. I am on the west coast of America and partly because of your review, I am going to get a used Sprint ST 1050 this week.... Thanks brother and good, safe riding.... Are the brakes "three pot" piston brakes? I would think so since the designer had a triple in mind...
A Babbit love your comment and I never took the time to realise the level of detail as described. fantastic bike and motor, safe riding my friend
Just found one here in the states for sale. Asking $5000 for it with almost 13,000 miles. Silver in color. Loved the review. Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed someone else doesn't snatch it up before I can get to it!
My only question is how on earth have you kept it that clean after 6k miles?!
Justforfrolics jet wash!
great bike one day i will have a CBF 125 , i realy like this bike
Did you get one?
@@BarryBollox. the real question is... did you get one?
@@randomshitposts125 Indeed I did Mr Shitposts. I sold it shortly after and bought a CBR. But Was a nice bike never the less.

Awesome video dude,..gotta say i agree with most all you said.....fellow street rider...bizz
Are they using Miles per hour over there😳 seen a bunch of moto vloggers in the uk and they have all been in MPH not KPH
MythicMoto all MPH over here in the UK
X14?
My street r has just gone back to have warranty work done on the clutch and gearbox. Certainly dented my idea of "buying British"
Only done 2600 miles, full triumph history as well, to be fair, triumph couldn't do enough but that still isn't the point
My STR turned into a lemon after running it for 6k miles. It's a shame really, as it was a lovely machine until things turned sour. Unfortunately, the way Triumph has dealt with this issue has completely turned me off from the brand.
What helmet do you have? I like the paint scheme
It's a Shoei GT Air
What are your mirrors?
They are just the optional Triumph bar end mirror accessory, work for me
out the box the suspension setup for sport riding and to take the extra load of a occasional passenger. I dont know much on suspension setup. so just turned it all down 1 click . worked well enough to keep it sporty without been flung out the seat on every little pot holes
back off all the suspension compression and rebound adjusters by 3 clicks. It makes a massive difference to everyday comfort and nothing noticeable in handling.
perfect, I'll give it a try!
I think Triumph call it the comfort setting lol. its literally a 2 minute job. Top and bottom of each fork and top and bottom of rear shock. The clicks are nice and audible too. I was really struggling with mine and the adjustment transformed it. I absolutely love it.
Thanks jamesuk, I'm definately going to give them a tweak - plenty of bumpy roads round here. Thanks for the advice

Why do you ride with one hand of the bars?
I never realise how much I do it until I watch these back. A bad habit...
What a great video! Seems like a great trip
many thanks! it was an awesome trip. looking at using bike shuttle next year, we'll see...
Thanks mate- loved watching the footage of Pompey from a Sprint. Mine (an '08 ST) was my sole transport when I lived down there. Takes me back... :-)
