Subscribed. I lived in LA + OC for about 30 years, now in Las Vegas (at about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost). I'm trying to leave the US, and Bali is looking like a good fit for me. I meditate and am real clear about the importance of proper mental hygiene, as you discuss. Looking forward to practical info. I am thrilled to see that you can source fresh veggies and maintain healthy eating, which looked problematic to me when I study other countries. I also took care of my mom (moving her to CA from the east) toward the end of her life, so I know how fulfilling that is. Thanks for your story!

Do you really need $3000 minimum to qualify for a retirement visa? That’s quite steep for 1 single person in Bali, but that’s what i read online.

OMG I knew Stuart Wilde!!! I did a lot of personal development courses. He was the loveliest most humble human. I seem to have gone from top to bottom when I think of all the things I’ve achieved but then I was in France and became very ill. Came back to UK and suddenly one day I literally collapsed and was eventually diagnosed with M.E. and Fibromyalgia and that’s been me all these years. Friends mocked me saying, I knew so much, lived a healthy lifestyle, I should just CHOOSE LIFE!! Sitting here at the airport in Bali after a month here, we were also here in April…honest truth? It’s exhausting, overplayed, and dirty. But it is cheap. It’s OK, but not the greatest

47 seems to be a magic age. 3 years ago I took early retirement at 47, moved to bali from Jakarta with my 2 dogs. Traveling light is awesome!

Hi Linda my name is Diane i live with my daughter here in bali for the last 2 years allthough my daughter has been living in bali for at least the last 25 + years and before that we had been coming to bali for or since 1986 doing business we had a small shop and then my husband died and my daughter came to bali with her two kids in 1998 and decided she wanted to bring her kids up in their fathers culture. He is balinese and had land and some ramshackled small hut like tourist accommodation so they decided to improve that but he used to go to Australia to earn some money to make those improvements in bali he had a foster father lived in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 and came to bali all the time and so he took him back to Australia to help with his education and get a job and he did that so i have 3 grandchildren living in their home in Sydney working and studying and we live here in Ubud up in the mountains area my daughter does yoga with her teacher balinese Ketut and they have quite a big business also in the mountain area of bali anyway my son in law and my daughter have this lovely small medium size homestay called ( NARASOMA HOMESTAY AND RETREAT AREA WITH SWIMMING POOL AND SPA AND A COUPLE OF LITTLE MEDIUM SIZED VILLAS AND MEDITATION ROOM AND 2 YGA LARGE ROOMS FOR GROUPS AT THE MOMENT THEY ARE REBUILDING A TEAHOUSE OR BREAKFAST BUILDING BUT A BEAUTIFUL LARGE GARDEN TO WONDER AROUND IN OR RELAXING AT THE POOL AREA ANYWAY ENOUGH OF THE ADVERTISING I WAS SO SURPRISED TO SEE THIS ON UTUBE AND LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU DECIDED TO COME LIVING IN BALI I CERTAINLY CANT COMPLAIN FOR ONE MINUTE I LOVE IT HERE MISS AUSTRALIA BUT I LOVE MY DAUGHTER AND SHE HAS GONE OVER AND BEYOND TO MAKE ME HAPPY WITH WHATEVER I NEED AND IAM NOT SHORT OF ANYTHING SO I HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY LIVING IN BALI IAM CONSTANTLY LEARNING STILL ABOUT BALINESE CULTURE ITS VERY INTRIGUING AND A LOT OF DETAIL WHICH MY DAUGHTER IS STILL LEARNING BUT THEN YOU NEVER STOP LEARNING DO YOU ANYWAY WE MIGHT RUN INTO EACHOTHER HERE ONE DAY YOU NEVER KNOW ANYWAY LOVELY TALKING TO YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEK LOTS OF LOVE 🧡😍🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🙏🙏🙏🍀👋👋🥰💟☮️

After walking away from my career and engagement many years ago to commit to the full time care of my parents, I know find myself at the end of a period of 24 months filled with loss and trauma. I am now find myself at the age of 43 years- unmarried, childless, parentless and jobless. The only thing I have to show for my 30 years of work is the fact I own my own home, which gives me an equity of just over half a million. Having applied for hundreds of jobs in the past year with not so much as a phone call and for the first time in my life having to rely on charity just to eat. I have been contemplating the idea for selling up and relocating to Bali . When I started researching this about 6 months ago, I worked out that I could make the move, lease a home and live off money from the sale of my house for at least 30 years. However I have become increasingly concerned with the fastly rising costs of long term leases in Bali and feel that I may not be able to find a home in Bali for less than $200,000 AUD.
