Ironwood is the embodiment of the phrase "by any means necessary". He doesn't do it because he wants to or he likes to it's that he feels like he has to in order to win. That's what honestly makes him an interesting character. The reasons for what he's doing are right but the methods are not.

NRS writing has become so bad....its a NEW era for goodness sakes! Think about all the cool stuff they can do with characters aside from genderswaps, and alight changes that dont equate too much... imagine an actual good quan chi in the main story, imagine BOTH sektor and cyrax leaving the grandmaster, imagine bi-han not being noob for 5 seconds? Honestly I'm only happy for noob saibot. Cyrax and Sektor are some of my favorite characters in the series but they messed up really badly.

Honestly? I kind of agree. I miss when Smash games prioritized gameplay and actual substantial content just as much as the characters. I would play Melee and Brawl for literal hours back in the day, because they offered more than just characters to keep me engaged. Adventure Modes, Events, Minigames like Target Test... all well thought out for the most part and a ton of fun. Nowadays, though? It just seems like Smash has leaned too far into the hype gaming culture and mainly prioritizes characters and reveal trailers now with everything else feeling like an afterthought, which is why every Smash game since Brawl hasn't really clicked with me. Ultimate was where it became really apparent in my opinion. Yes, it may have every single character that's ever been playable in Smash's history plus some wild newcomers, and while that may seem cool at first, the novelty quickly wears off once you realize that the rest of the game was kind of sidelined for it, such as its incredibly lacking single player content and World of Light being nowhere near as enjoyable as Subspace Emissary. Sure, I want cool new characters just as much as the next guy, but I also want other fun things to do in the game outside of that. Fleshing out the content of a game should be more important than seeing random people on the Internet going crazy over some character getting added to Smash. While the game can still be fun to play, it just feels like Smash has really lost its sense of direction and has resorted to the 'Quantity over Quality' approach, and it's why the series has lost a lot of its magic for me now. Sadly, I can't really see myself getting excited for the next Smash game unless it's a straight-up reboot of sorts, where hopefully the developers can put more time and focus into other areas of the game beyond the characters to make them truly great. After all, Smash isn't just about numbers. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. I just had a lot I wanted to say on the matter.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Conan is the most BOOMER ass pick for a DLC character. Ghostface and T-1000 was also unnecessary. This DLC alone made me done with this franchise.

I agree with you,I was gently disappointed with this too and could not careless about them.The only thing was excited was Noob Saibot and animalities,like they could have used characters that have not been seen ever, them could have make new characters or hell they could have put characters from the old Mortal Kombat Comics that people were dying to have in the game. But nope they put characters are either too little or too late to use or no one besides is their parents or grandparents care about them.

Cool video, really brought me back to the feeling of playing Brawl free for all matches with friends for entire afternoons. Personally, I dont agree with the notion that Smash (Smash 4/Ultimate) is more so carried by fan speculation of new fighters. As someone who has been playing Smash Ultimate pretty frequently 3 years since the last character was revealed; I feel like Ultimate is carried by its gameplay and sheer volume of characters to play. For me at least. Brawl definitely had the best stage builder and it is damn shame we havent had a grander story told with cutscenes to the scale of the subspace emissary.

Brawl was masterpiece, I agree it was the best in the series. Personally 35-40 playable characters with a massive story mode and tons of extra content is better than 80-90 characters with not much to do outside of vs battles. Brawl was also my first smash game and easily the game I've sunk the most hours into in my entire life. Those sounds are also so damn nostalgic. I also agree that Brawl had the most personality out of all the smash games.

Tbh brawl was the only smash game I actually liked. I played melee a lot as a kid but as a teen brawl was just more fun because I could play vs friends and who remembers the website AllIsBrawl? Good times

We dont know if guest slots take away from returning mk characters. They could have internal quotas, budgets, deals and marketing exclusively for guests that are separate from their plans for other characters. These could be planned years in advance and they may know exactly how many returning, new, and guest characters will ultimately be in the game.

Agreed. MK11's shit was frustrating enough, we didn't need it again. Mobile game tier garbage where you have to sit around with the game on for hours for dogshit things to cycle in and out are extremely bad game design and when the servers for Mortal 1 Kombat go down, the game will be unplayable. Also, the only characters on the roster I'm interested in myself are Reptile and Havik, and they messed up Havik something fierce, and where the hell is Kintaro? Moloch? Drahmin? Oh no, we don't get them, we get capeshit and rehashes.

I still play MK2 and UMK3 competitively on Fightcade.....we still got classic MKs.....the issue i have with MK since possibly MKX is the throw mechanic....50/50 guess throw break but throw is 100% guaranteed if youre holding guard.....considering the mechanic takes inspiration from Tekken, it shouldnt have that fundamental flaw but it has for at least the past 3 MKs....that made me play the last 2 very casually.....with this MK1 "The New 52 DC" style lore switch up turned me off completely from the series as whole.......WB was 1st in line to bid on the MK ip when Midway filed for bankruptcy in 2008 because they knew MK was going to be a big a cash cow for them.....blame them for the mediocrity
