Hello! Feeling lost due to dizziness and neck pain? You're in the right place.
I'm Dr. Drew 👇
📌At this point in my career, I only treat a few things…
Mainly, Cervicogenic Dizziness (along with the neck pain, cervicogenic headaches, and PPPD it so often causes).
📌Five years ago, I had a massive flare up in dizziness that made life pretty rough. It was scary, and I couldn’t get clear answers on what was causing it.
Going through this caused a ton of fear, anxiety, and in general for 18 months it really sucked.
📌Now, my goal is to give people going through this what I would have wanted. Clear answers, a clear plan, daily guidance, and honestly, emotional support.
The people who find me are usually frustrated by being blown off by every medical provider they’ve talked to, had all the tests and have been told “everything's normal”. They’re trying to get back to their old lives…

Dizziness is rarely “one thing”
Dizziness is usually caused by multiple things... cervicogenic dizziness, visual sensitivity, motion sensitivity, central processing issues...
It's always better to help systems all function well AND THEN try to find the exact thing to call it.

Mid back pain is super common, and quite often not caused by an issue in your mid back This has to do with a weird referral patten in which irritation in our neck can cause pain to be felt lower down. #CervicogenicDizziness #Dizziness #NeckPain #NeckPainRelief #DizzinessRelief
The Story We Tell Ourselves About Our Health

How do you feel about your past? What expectations do you have for the future? The story we tell ourselves about our life, health, about the past, about the future, impacts how we feel in the present. This is nothing groundbreaking, but when you’re dealing with a challenging health condition, it becomes more important to figure out how to use this to our advantage I personally spent months caug...

Our bodies are pretty impressive… Your brains ability to tell “where you are” in the world involves a lot of different systems. One of them is proprioception - which is often overlooked in the treatment of dizziness. #CervicogenicDizziness #Dizziness #NeckPain #NeckPainRelief #DizzinessRelief
Dealing with Bad Information about Dizziness & Vestibular Migraines

When it comes to neck pain, dizziness, vestibular migraines... the amount of bad information on the internet can be overwhelming and scary. Googling your symptoms or having your healthcare provider invalidate you and your diagnosis can be discouraging. I get it, I've been there! But I think one huge positive that's come from social media is combating the bad information with access to good, qua...
I hate the phrase “You can't cure dizziness, you have to deal with this forever"

While there is truth to this, it’s kind of like saying you can’t "cure pain." But you can enjoy a life that isn’t impacted by pain. You can work on being healthy, not just avoiding pain. It’s kind of like telling people "Well, we are all going to get old and die" which isn't the most encouraging thing when someone is already freaked out. #CervicogenicDizziness #Dizziness #NeckPain #NeckPainReli...

I have had this problem for over 20 years and never found the right way to get better. I live in Sweden. I'm very interested if there is something I can do that. Tell me more about higher speed visual desensitization.
Omgg this is me ….😢
OK I totally have this and I’m freaking out. Can you please help me😢❤
This is me
Trying to say you'll get better by a certain point or having a super specific timeline for your healing can create excessive pressure on yourself and can often make your symptoms worse Part of it is understanding you are “okay” right now. It's important to take it day by day and not create any extra pressure. #neckpain #cervicogenicdizziness #migraines #vestibulardizziness #pppd #migraine #visualvertigo #visualdependence #dizzinessrelief #neckpainrelief

Hi thanks for sharing this information, I’ve been unable to drive since last October my car felt like it was spinning on the freeway my worse scariest day ever , I do have neck issues c-4 and c-5 for years with anxiety I wanna start back driving please help thanks in advance
Where’s the rest of the video
It’s not easy to stop! When an are hurts, it often feels irritated or tight. This can lead us to try to obsessively stretch it, press on it, mess with it. The problem is, usually this feels good in the moment but ends up making it worse. That’s because it’s very rarely actually “tight”. Typically the area that is in pain, is being over stressed. It want’s to be left alone, not constantly messed with. Kind of like when you’re frustrated and people keep bothering you and trying to help/asking what’s wrong… it can often make it worse. What you really want is to stop being bothered (at least me haha) #neckpain #cervicogenicdizziness #migraines #vestibulardizziness #pppd #migraine #visualvertigo #visualdependence #dizzinessrelief #neckpainrelief
Thx bro
Yes! I experienced this years ago. Question- I got really sick and was at 83 lbs(!) or like 25 -30lbs lighter thsn my normal. I have PCs and vestibular inner ear damage plus old cervical spine c1 injury. I’m a total mess now bc my brain body so atrophied bc in bed for so long and during recovery I flared up PCs vestibular so Badly. I’m like fully durables brsun body when before I was smart creative fit but not working full time since 2013 bc of injury. I don’t know - is it possible for me to reviver doing tiny vextibular exercises as I can until PCs not do bad? Anything I pick up ie add weight to body is SO hard on my brain/head/body - bc changes balance I guess
From supermarkets to crowded airports, progressive exposure is what works for me.
Ive had a CT and MRI done and they cannot find anything I get migraines as well with this , spasm in head muscles too
So I am very aware that I have issues because of stress/tension but how the heck to I get rid of it 😅 I’m just an anxious person in general idk how I’m supposed to release that tension
Can you put the description in the comments, I can't actually see it but am interested!
Yes, doing this now!
I have pppd my physio over here in Australia got me to do fast up and down side to side neck movements I have a really bad neck with arthritis and other mutiple neck probs now I’m so more dizzy unbalanced she said it’s my anxiety that’s making me feel like this 24/7 Oh how I wish we had people like you down under We all wouldn’t be financially broke and fixed by now 🙏
Chin tucks make me dizzy with a headache 😫
Whenever I get dizzy, I have panic attacks
Please help.it has been my.problem. I lost my job because of this. Please make a response
What is the right help then? Say I have visual decency - what’s the fix? What can I be doing to make that better? Does phone use make visual dependency worse? I use my phone all the time due to being stuck at home, stores are too visually overwhelming, when I walk I feel as though I’m being pulled to the left- all my dizziness happens on the right side- five years ago it started as a full ear sensation and general dizziness. Vertigo started 2 1/2 years ago. I’ve been seen by cardiologist, had MRI x2, vestibular therapy 2, upper cervical chiropractor for 1 year then seen a different chiro for 1 1/2 years.. ent visits, neurologist … thank God nothing is ever found but it’s all blamed on being anxious… I do anxious because I’m dizzy BUT I wasn’t anxious until I became dizzy. When the vertigo hits it’s really bad. I would appreciate any info or advice you can give- knowing that you’re not my doctor and you’re not responsible for any choices I make 😊 thank you. Im 38 now, started right after I had my last child five years ago
What if we dont live near you?????
But what kind of things did you do to help her
How to get in touch with you?
what is the way to help get over visual dependency?
Yes. Some exercises or something pls
I don’t understand.
My captions are limited on these videos, sorry this was confusing. Basically what I’m explaining is your brain’s ability to know what your body is doing without you actually looking at it. For example, you can close your eyes and lift your arm up halfway without having to actually look at your arm and check that your arm halfway lifted. Your brain can determine that. Aka: knowing where your body is in space. Folks with PPPD, dizziness, etc. have trouble doing these things.
@@Dr.Drew.Aligns Oh! I get it now! Thanks for the explanation. 😊
When I get tension headaches or migraines I tend to curl up in a ball because of anticipation of the pain but I will definitely try to remember these things!!!
Thank you!
Didn't understand 😢

What’s the point of one minute videos with no real information or follow up.??
What’s the name of your website?
Do you treat people outside the states I'm from Australia
Yes he dose

That's actually a thing!? I get dizzy in big box stores when I forget to bring my glasses in with me.
Yes it is very much a thing!
I'd finally pushed a doctor enough to let me have an MRI (after over a decade of occasional headaches) and actually it did show a tiny brain tumor. ...Which I'm still not sure whether it's the cause or a coincidence. (I had hoped the MRI would rule a brain tumor out.) So... you never know. But I do very much like having all the information possible for whatever situation. Even when it's something bad, it feels better to know all the possibilities than having a doctor going 'I donno. But don't worry about it.' Usually what you imagine is scarier than what it could be. There's a cap on how bad facts can get. There's no limit for your imagination.
Thats me ....its difficult
Can l get it if l don't have instagram
Thank you for your videos...

Months at a time feeling normal until the next attach happens?
Can it be chronic?
What you’re failing to address is what structure you’re comparing the rotation of C1 to. If you’re referring to C2, then yes, rotation of the head at time of X-ray would result in a “6 degree” rotation and may not necessarily mean that the atlas is “stuck”. But if you’re comparing C1 to Occiput and there is a “6 degree” rotation, then yes that is an abnormal finding since the normal biomechanics of Occiput and C1 are flexion/extension, not rotation. This becomes extremely apparent when utilizing CBCT to analyze the cervical spine which allows a 3-d view of the vertebra and their relationship to each other. Furthermore, there are various techniques that have very minimal allowance for any rotation of the head when taking X-rays, yet they still find rotation of the atlas in relation to the Occiput.
Appreciate your take. What seems inconsistent is, if motion in a segment is physiologically impossible (rotation of C0 on C1), does it then move and get stuck in the absence of trauma. As noted in the video, subluxation past physiologic norms is possible but would be consistent with trauma or congenital laxity. In neither of those cases would manual therapy be indicated imo.
Can we use the plan remotely ? 🙏
Please can you do a video with more info on this🙏
I have the same problem. Been told by a doctor its in my head, anxiety. Asked the question, i drive okay till i get to highway and high speed, why? I still avoid long distance with highway. I really need help..how did you help that lady..please give more information. Thanks
What's your opinion on Upper Cervical Chiropractic (Nucca, Blair, Atlas Orthogonal, etc.)?
It can help for sure! I've worked with chiropractors and have positive feelings about the profession. This video is more to clarify that the language they often use can be somewhat misleading if you are taking it literally.
@@Dr.Drew.Aligns Blair Upper Cervical, for example, takes very precise x-ray images that show the upper cervical vertebrae that have been misaligned.
Don’t think he was discounting upper cervical as all upper cervical doctors take super specific X-rays with precise patient placements in xray set ups
This sounds like me but I’m afraid to be active and have not been for a while.
What’s your suggestion when everything checks out in the eye exam but you’re dizzy in busy areas like grocery store and malls etc?
I have a herniatedd C6 that is giving me horrible cervocgenic headaches. 6 months now. 3 epidurals still havent helped.
