Well, Miss Brenda… I actually use them in quite a few projects. I have not really posted up any major projects using my kaleidoscope canes and I really should. It’s just one more thing on my to do list. Hopefully I’ll get it all done! Hey Miss Laura!! Yeah, check out the description area on this video and all of my videos when you watch them. I do my best to put the links up in the description area to help you find some of the materials I use. And since you are new to polymer clay, I also suggest checking out: thebluebottletree.com/articles/ Ginger is great with some very helpful information. But when in doubt always check my description area for links on the materials I use. The more obvious ones I don't list out. (ex. polymer clays) But for cutters and things that are not often talked or known too much about I try to get any information or links put into the description area. Hello Miss Laura!… I am thrilled that you are going to be taking a journey into Polymer Clay! Wahoo!… The powder is usually either baby powder or cornstarch. And in the spray bottle it’s just plain water. These are all release agents for cutters with Polymer Clay. So say you have a detailed cutter or any kind of small cookie cutter and you want to use that in the clay, the best way to not have the clay stick to your cutter is by using one of these release agents: cornstarch, baby powder or water. Now the other way is to also use saran wrap and have the cutter cut down on the saran wrap which covers the clay. I find I like this one quite a bit because you can sometimes create a dome defect of whatever cutter you’re using. And since you are new to Polymer Clay, I would suggest going back to some of my first videos I did in Polymer Clay. and start going through them. Generally, most of these videos are fairly short around 10 to 15 minutes.… It’s only within the last year or so that my videos have gotten longer. But it’s because I’ve built up so much over the last few years on those foundational videos. That being said, I’m starting to wonder if maybe I should make a few of those more simple videos, one more time and see if there’s anything I can add to them… It’s a thought. I so totally agree with you!… when the clay sits and it’s not used right away, it starts to harden up over time. But like you said if you put a little bit softener in it eventually seep into the clay and the clay can be usable again. But you’re right it’s a pain in the____. LOL!! Trying to be good here with my language. Anyway, I will have to try your method. I haven’t tried that one before. Wow!… Thank you so much, Miss Allison!… And yes, I really do like putting the paint on the scraper then on the screen. It is very much less messy and less waste, but I also find that I can control where the paint goes and moves when it’s on the scraper itself.
