I am thrilled that you loved this! This is a really fun thing to do and I can’t get over how exciting it is to make these freeform types of jewelry features! That’s what they are… Freeform sculpting jewelry pieces. And because they are that way you never really get the same one twice, they are totally unique… Each one. I hope you will continue to enjoy my videos here on my channel… And sending you my big hugs your way!🤗👍🏻❤️
I’ve done something similar where I put a thick coat of varnish on it and then kept adding paint in layers for a 3D type effect. Not with these pens though, but I plan to ! They are fantastic. Your finished pieces are stunning! I LOVE the wire!!!! I love that they are big as well. Wearing them on a long chain over a solid color turtleneck? A true statement piece!!!
Very cool, Miss Lisa!! I am thrilled you will be trying out this set of pens soon, and I hope you will also get some great results from them too!! ...also, thank you, for your kind compliment on my work as well. And yes, these are large pieces...you can definitely enjoy as a statement piece. I really do hope you try and create something like it yourself. I believe you will have a blast doing so!! Sending you my big big hugs!! :)
Thank you so much, Miss Wendy!… I’m thrilled that you loved these! I love the 3-D effect in jewelry too!… It just adds, at least to me, a whole lot more interest when it comes to jewelry. I hope you will continue to enjoy what I do here on my channel and have some fun creating in the clay and hopefully do so with a sappy smile just as I do… Sending you my biggest hugs! 🤗👍🏻❤️

I love these forms you make. I'm itching to try and copy in some shape or form, making scissor fobs or even needle minders for my cross stitch friends. I HAVE to have the ultra fine colour pens, sadly run out of cash until the 29th then I'll be nabbing a set lol. Have a good weekend and a big THANK YOU 🤗🇬🇧
You are most welcome, lady!… I hope you make a few of these and do share them with your friends! hopefully you’ve gotten those pens by now and enjoying what they can do for you… Until next time and sending you my biggest hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
Oh Miss Victoria!… What a very kind compliment to give me!… I am thrilled, but you are so inspired by my work and that I really bring that art into them for you… I hope you will continue to be inspired by what I create here on my channel!! sending you my biggest of big hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
I Love Love Love Them!! As all your talented work of art, I went in and watched a lot of your videos and going to watch more. I Love your very clear about what you do and use. The best part your so joyful and fun !!! Thank you, subscribed❤
Oh wow! Thank you so very much for that! And welcome to my channel Miss Lisz!! I hope you will continue to enjoy all of my videos and whatever I come out with here in the very new future! Sending you my biggest big hugs and a huge welcome hug as well!🤗👍🏻❤️
LOLOL!! Lady you are a joy!! 😂 I love it when you send me a comment and it’s such a wonderful time just reading your comments and your compliments… Giving me an idea as to what you’re going through when you play in the clay! And yes, relax… And enjoy. When it comes to Polymer Clay as to getting not very good stuff to work with… I always believe in the idea of, when you get lemons, you make lemonade! In this case, if you think the clay is crappy, and you don’t like it, mesh it all together into mud. Create the mud intentionally!!🤣😂🤣…now this may sound like a crazy idea, but I find that creating with the mud turns out to be so much better than sometimes trying to use the colored clay with an intent of trying to create something with that color! Hence the idea of the Freeform sculptural tutorials! In fact, that’s what I do… I have extra as you call it not very good clay and I use that in the Freeform sculpt. If you bake it long enough, it works just fine for painting over and doing all sorts of things to it. Again, though, I have to absolutely thank you for every time you send me a compliment and comment… It keeps me going. It keeps me creating these videos and knowing that I help you and others like yourself. Bless your heart lady! And sending you my big hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
Aw, thank you, Miss Carolyn!… I am thrilled, but you enjoy what I create here on my channel!… And I do hope you will take a moment and create some of these fun little things for yourself as well! Sending you my big big big big big big hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
You are amazing. I love watching you work. Do you know what it’s going to look like before you start or is it evolving as you go? I really want to do this. It looks amazing. Your creativity is absolutely inspired.
Thank you so much for your kind compliment, Miss Kay! I am humbled by your praise and I love the fact that you enjoy watching me work!… As to your question, I would have to answer both. Some work absolutely evolves as it goes. Other pieces are more planned out, and part of this is that they have to be researched and studied a little bit which takes time and also sometimes why I am late in getting my videos out because some of those techniques need more study and I really need to figure out the ins and outs of it all before I put the video together. But I’m glad I do because it helps me to remember how to create something, that could easily get forgotten on how to do what I do, plus it also serves as a learning curve where I might find a better way to do that technique in the process of creating it in the first place. I also find that it is a great way to document what I do in Polymer Clay, leaving a nice record in my studies of this beautiful medium! I do hope that helps you and I hope you have a fantastic day, lady! Sending you my biggest hugs!👍🏻❤️🤗
Thank you so much! As to the varnish thing, I would use varnish to seal the paint onto the Polymer Clay. It is only acrylic paint and over time, It would most likely come off unless you seal it. And yes, you could use, resin to seal it as well, but that also holds other issues you have to deal with. And in creating this kind of jewelry, resin could go into areas where you would not want it and cure and then you’re stuck with what you have. In a lot of ways I like going to my varnish because it’s fast and easy and you’re not dealing with the problems that resin would bring.
LOVE these pieces. So inspiring. One quick question. I have watched other PC videos where the artist used Posca pens and said that the paint had to be heat set in the oven again. Have you found this to be the case? TIA.
I am so thrilled that you loved these pieces!… And as to your question, I’ve never really had any kind of problem with it… But then, I always varnish over my Posca painted pieces. Never had any trouble with it. I might try that though, where I paint a piece and then fire it and see if the paint stays on after I have fired the overall piece. However I do find that no matter what anytime you use paint you really need to seal it and especially with jewelry. I think you really need to varnish over if you can. The only other way you can get around this and this really only applies to colored clay is sanding and buffing and then that’s a whole Other different process. I do hope this answers your question… And thank you again, for your kind compliment. Sending my big hugs your way!🤗❤️👍🏻
So the varnish I used here is the Varathane ultimate polyurethane water-based varnish. It is the crystal clear gloss type… I find this particular vanish at my local Home Depot store. I hope that helps. Sending you my biggest hugs. 🤗👍🏻❤️
Yes, there are no stupid questions… I always believe in the idea of gaining knowledge and hoping other people would do so too without any kind of condemnation. Sometimes that does not always happen and that… That is sad. However, back to your question yes, I baked the piece before I added in the paint. With these three-dimensional pieces, you really can’t do it any other way. So I bake the pendant piece for about 15 to 20 minutes or a little bit longer because there is some bulk to these things, however, if that seems like a short baking time… As I tell people now, especially, check your surroundings your climate your altitude… All of that can be relevant as to how long you should bake or not bake a piece of Polymer Clay. I do hope this helps… And sending you my big hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
Oh my giddy odd!… Is it really you miss Teena… It has been far too long ladies since I have seen you!… I hope you are doing well. And as to the video on the modifying of the caulk gun, I actually have the video on that in my videos library. If you go into my clay tools playlist, it is actually the first video I have listed. I think I did a pretty good job of spelling it all out but if you have any kinds of questions whatsoever, please lady feel free to let me know. Sending you my big hugs to you and hoping you are doing well!🤗❤️❤️👍🏻
I am embarrassed, I asked a stupid question about the markers before I watched the video and you covered the question in detail. Hopefully it got deleted. LOL
Awwww, Miss Ginny….It’s okay, lady!! As I believe, there are no stupid questions. I am just glad that my video answered your question throughly. If it didn’t I would have been very embarrassed. So, never fear and I am still glad you asked. Keeps me on my toes too. So thank you, dear lady… And sending you my biggest of big hugs!🤗❤️👍🏻
Good question!… I could’ve used the colored clay, but I wanted to see how these markers would do on Polymer Clay after it was baked and what they would look like on Polymer Clay. It is also why I’m hoping sharpie will make some metallic type paint markers like they did here even though they’re not metallics at all. That said I also like the idea of being able to take out a pen type tool and use it rather than just doing everything in Polymer Clay. There’s a versatility there that you get then not just doing just clay but using the elements of pen and ink if you wish. And knowing that you could use those. Plus in a lot of ways here I’m using these paint markers because I was using scrap clay so it was mud clay. And when you get mud clay, other than creating a cabochon or something that you can cover this, gives you another purpose or reason to use your paint markers on it. I do hope that helps. Answer your question… Until next time, sending you my big hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
Im no expert but, why do you cure your clay for such a short time, there is no way that the clay can be cured properly in such a short amount of time ?
In my experience… And from what I’ve lived with and where I live shorter time periods work just fine for me and I have had no complaints at all with my shorter time periods affecting any of my work. I do believe some of this multi is due to where you live. I live in a very high altitude, dry high desert area in Colorado, and because I am at least a good mile above sea level, I think that makes a difference on the time needed in baking the clay as compared to doing it in more humid conditions… It does not affect me to bake at shorter temperatures here. In fact, it seems to work just fine for me. If I bake too long, I actually wind up burning the clay. I hope maybe this helps some… Sending my big hugs!🤗👍🏻❤️
