How's the water with all the hurricanes
@@911DOgcrap Haven't really seen any difference on the Chesapeake Bay. It rained for a day or so on the tail end of Helene but that was it.
I was always of the mindset that running the outboard dry for the winter was a good idea. But then I was told that it's better to leave some gas in it with a stabilizer. Any thoughts?
@@paulweiner4169 I think I'm going to add a stabilizer then run it dry. That way any fuel left in the system doesn't go bad.
@@MattMarlowe That makes good sense. I think I'll do the same. I still can't figure out why I run out of fuel really fast during the season but when I need to run it dry for the winter I'm zipping around the marina for hours?? Hope your winterizing goes smoothly. Aways enjoy your videos.
@@paulweiner4169 I have heard some bad things about stabilizers for fuel. Do some research on the brand you buy and look at reviews
Can you please back away, all these closeups are making me dizzy. Thanx, great boat btw.
@@philo5096 Thanks, I'll do another one and try to fix that. It's hard with limited space.
Nice to see your videos again
Stunning yacht. Great run through.
Very Nice
I am looking for a 30 - 36 fr boat in the UK. This was an excellent tour as I had seen an island Packet recently with not a good description. It’s now sold! They don’t stay on the market long.
They are nice boats.
Happy sailing be safe

Wrong
Nope, right. Other than an extra turn on the figure eight, which is acceptable, that's how it's tied in Ashley Book of Knots.
@@MattMarlowe as you say, right. ‘other than an extra turn’. This will bring the lock on the bitter end to the same horn as the incoming line which can cause an issue if a quick release is needed under storm conditions with the line very tight on heavy loads.
Nice.. You are int the Chesapeake as well. I am off the Rappahannock @ Yankee point marina. hope to buddy boat with you some time.
Rain is actually not lucky. Sure you see the leaks but to find a deck leak best to do it on a nice day with no rain. Then you take a garden hose and simulate rain to small areas. But yes with the age of that boat best to re-bed first off the chain plates molded in the hull then all the stations. A daunting task I know and not one I am looking forward to on mine but has to be done. I am lucky I have a better boat... well better for this project. My IP is a 27 but every thing is exactly the same. Just less of it. Great idea on the bilge maintenance I will be putting a second pump in mine for piece of mind. Two is better then one ... right?
Yeah, I've tried the water hose before (every time I wash it), but it doesn't leak then. I rebed the stantion last weekend and it looks like it was mostly water coming in higher on the stantion and dripping down from the inside.
Your anchor setup. I have the same setup on my IP but no windless. Been thinking of adding one. looks to me like yours can be used with either anchor but being forward of where the chain drops to the locker how does that work. Like to know more about it before I start yet another project. And yes the light in your V-birth is the original light.
Yes, I can use either anchor. I usually use the Fortress though because I don't trust the CQR. Either way, I wrap the rode around the windlass and then to one of the cleats.
I wanna go sailing
First!!!
😂
Yayayyayayayayayayaya
My brother used 2 have it’s sister ship! Was my favorite under 30’ sailboat ever! We’ve both had numerous sailing craft from 23’ -50’! But I’ve always wanted 2 find another ‘86 Pearson 28 for weekending on!
It's definitely a great boat for it's size!
Bună
And all of that fits under 28ft. Impressive :)
It's a good layout for that size boat.
That was pretty cool
That is a beautiful boat thanks for sharing. Do you still have it
Thank you, it is a great boat. I sold it a few years ago. I'm in an Island Packet 32 right now.
@@MattMarlowe do you have any videos on that sailboat?
@@MattMarlowe I just found it. Thanks
Nice upgrade
Poor Claire! Just say "no" to oysters!
❤❤all I need is some hot sauce and me a shot of tequila and um hmm, I'll let you fill in that part 😅😅
Hello, I did visit your UA-cam channel. I know, you are already trying to grow your channel and videos and struggling for your views and subscribers. Your channel video is good. but I saw your channel video views do not increase. So I researched your channel then I found problems with your channel. So, your channel video views do not increase. Can I have a chance to help you to grow your channel?
Great video
Good to see you, again.
Cool and awesome
Did you add the hooks for your lines under your dodger? Do you have a source for them? I think it's a great idea!
No, they were there when I bought the boat, but I feel like I've seen them on other boats or for sale somewhere. I have two types; one is a straight J hook and the other is a curly pig-tail type hook. I'll look around and let you know what I find.
Also, each hook is attached to the bolt side of the grab handle on the outside of the dodger.
OK, I think I found something similar: defender.com/en_us/sea-dog-main-sail-hook-195410-1 These are reefing hooks, but I think that's what mine on the dodger are.
Thanks Matt...I have an IP 320
Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink
I got my shoes laced this way
Not higher than me rn i can tell u that
Yeah, it got bad for sure. It was a lot higher than this over night.
Thats how I learned to tie bumpers off the deck railing. It secures well, but unties easily when you want it to.
It is a Blake’s hitch as well
Taut-line as well...
@@NikonF5user tautline hitch is two wraps on top and two wraps on bottom I climbed with it for ten years
@@christopherhickner4673 🤔
Similar to a Blake's, but a Blake's has three wraps away from the standing end and then comes back around and through one of the wraps. A Taut Line Hitch is this knot back on itself forming a loop. For a boat better to use a Bowline.
blow through the fuel line for possible blockage. look at your fuel filter also.
Yeah, definitely did all that. I think it ended up being just bad fuel. It was old and smelling bad.
Good to see you again.❤❤❤
Rocky sailing
Great!!!
Keep sailing
Great video
Good to know
Thanks for sharing
Nice to know
Great video
Thanks for watching!
It's called in the bite the more pull the harder it's bites down on the line
Where can I buy one???
Made ready to eat ? So this is how our soldiers wife's decide who gets to eat? Interesting
You seem to get by with fewer gallons of anti freeze than I do on my 37 foot sailboat. How big is your water tank and how many gallons of antifreeze do you use for it?
I had to pick up 6 more to finish. Used a total of 9.5, then have 2 more to do the engine again after sailing. I turn the water off as soon I see a good solid pink color, then I capture any extra in a jug for the bilge.
I should also add that I empty the water tank before I start and it takes a couple of gallons for the pump to pressurize the system.
@@MattMarlowe That sounds more like what I'm using. Always looking to try to soften the blow to the wallet from all the antifreeze required. Thanks and hopefully we have a speedy winter so we can all be back on the water soon.
