Tip for you contact one of the catamaran companies and they have been known for comping tickets to the Annapolis Boat Show and then they write it off on their taxes for those of us on a budget it works out pretty good. I went to a show several years ago on my motorcycle and parking was very simple I did just about freeze on my way back to Hampton but it was all good, maybe I will see you there in the future. If I can get a parking spot for my sloop.
That's a good idea. I have a friend who gets his tickets from a friend who is a boat broker. I need to get in that loop! I don't have to worry about parking since my marina nearby has a garage.
I wish you had stayed at our IPYOA MEET-UPS and visited more....it was too rainy Sat to tour the show ... Nice video tour of the show. You should have stopped at the up factory party at 6pm.
Hey! Great to finally meet you in person! You've been a great help keeping us afloat through the forum, Facebook, and your UA-cam channel (I've watched the staysail video a dozen times)! I do need to spend more time at the show! I think I'll try for two days next year.
Rain was steady. HH sold a lot of gear and the more common sizes because of the rain. The packet 545 was nice and of course $$. We didn't stay long but felt like we saw all we wanted to see and talked to the folks we wanted to talk to. I can't imagine coming back for a 2nd day. For me a few hours is enough to see, touch, and try on and buy. That said we are outfitted so we aren't buying a new boat and filling it up with stuff.
Agree. I think the only thing a second day would let me do is look at boats I can't afford. But sometimes looking at other boats gives me ideas about stuff I can do to my boat.
Seriously…. First 2 minutes you mention you can buy the same solar panels on Amazon for the same price so you walked away…… Do you realize Amazon “takes” 20-40% of the sales price?? Maybe I have been working too long today but damn……
The show, including parking was 50$, WAY MORE than it was worth. I don't have a million dollars for a catamaran. All of the smaller vendors were priced out. Even West Marine didn't show their face. Never going again.
Good point, I don't remember ever seeing West Marine there, at least for a while. I don't have to pay for parking because I park free at my marina and walk over. Before we moved there though, parking was always expensive.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching!
I did enjoy the street food and the stay on your boat. Really wanted to stop by this year but you know how it goes.
