Hello Earl did you use sanding sealer before the lacquer, or did you just spin it and use the lacquer ?

Very good and very informative. I am guilty and have been waiting overnight to even glue up half rings! I have used your pull string and it works great, but I was depressed, until now, of how to fix joints that weren’t tight, other than half glueing them , then sanding both ends, like you mentioned. My question was;for example, say I had a 12 segment ring and I dry fitted it, and I saw that 2 of the joints weren’t tight enough to my liking. So that would mean there are 4 segments involved. But how do I know which on is off, or more importantly, how can I fix it so I can glue a full ring together, instead of half ringing it? Thanks again Tommy Schutz

All segments are the same the gap will appear randomly between any two segments fix by sanding a correction angle to any segment in the ring

Thank you. Make sure you don't get to hot out there and that you are drinking lots of water. We appreciate your guidance in this, but you need to take care of you to. I had a thought about when you go to turn the out side, we could use some of that foam insulation sheet as a pad on that plate you used on the tail stock to hold it softly but firmly.

Glad you are feeling better. Your projects are beautiful and I've learned a lot from you. I see you use Deft lacquer and I thought I would let you know that Deft changed their name and spray nozzle. It no longer sprays a fine spray. I have switched to Minwax lacquer. It has the nice blue nozzle and sprays just as nice as the Deft used to. Take care Earl.

Keep well and look after your health. My God bless you for the knowledge you share with everybody. 🙏

Mister Earl! So glad to see you back in the shop. I was afraid I had been culled from your distribution list. I see you have a white conveyor belt on your Supermax drum sander. I just had a failure on my belt. What is that on yours? Where did you get it?
