Viet Nam was really the first time the USA came up against guerilla warfare. No one really knew how to fight it, except kill everything. It was awful. It made people crazy. I was too young but I knew and worked with a lot of those guys.

Is the light yellow or cool white? Does it throttle down from 1000 lumens if it gets hot? If so, down to what lumens? I lost my olight s1 baton. One of my favorite flashlights. It's been discontinued. I'm looking for an equivalent replacement. Good review!
Pretty much all flashlights will kick down from their turbo mode after a minute or two because they get too hot, it protects the circuitry. This one was the cool white model. Another one to check out from trustfire is their new L2 model, I believe that's 1100 lumens with a 100 lumens secondary mode and it uses a single 14500 battery that's replaceable. I've been EDC in the older version of the L2 for many years now

As I understand this is a cheap ammo and therefore such a big variation in muzzle velocity. Can you suggest some more precise ammunition in terms of velocity variation?
The most precise 556 ammo on the market is Black Hills mk262 mod1 77 grain match.

I've always wondered how Taylor knew that they were going to blow their fox hole. What tipped him off? Does anyone here know?
I'm an ex infantry rifleman, I think I can help you with the clues that he was going by: 1) they stopped assaulting his position and it got very quiet. 2) he heard an officer barking orders. 3) he might have understood the language well enough to know what they were saying and that they were about to blow the hole. 4) he may have been aware that it was standard procedure for the VC or NVA to blow a hole with an RPG. 5) basic combat intuition.

This film hits me hard because I served in OIF 1&3 in the Army as a grunt and the insurgency really tried us at times. For some reason, the battle we had in Karbala Iraq in 03 comes to mind as ultimately the 101st AA ended up reinforcing us guys in the 3ID. Rock of the Marne. Again, this film makes me tear up some because it's gritty and pretty realistic.

@@Valorius Roger that. In our 05 deployment which was the whole year in mostly the Diyala Province, we came under ambush once and some of us got hit including a bullet that hit my ankle but thankfully missed the bone. I still look at the healed wound which was from a 7.62x39 round.
Not to mention they are pre-lapped! Awesome rings!
