Test race follow up from the build video. Up hill track 3.3kms long - 351m high running a 36 - 48v 1500w hub motor kit at 80A battery 15s 12ah - 64v at the start, 54v at the bottom 50% for 9kms total. hub motor was 35°C at the top of the hill, without hubsinks the same hub motor was over 60°C

regarding shunt mod. flip the board and solder a 4awg wire between terminals, at least this way you have less resistance compared to solder, also its reversible if you change your mind. simply remove wire.

THIS so called "Shunt Mod" did NOT work on my newly bought controller. Besides that : it does NOT make your bike go faster, it just makes it more accelerating (on my old 1kw controller it worked)

i've learned to make carbon fiber like this way on a moped forum the same way as you do, quite cool!. im building a panther 3s rn, i want to make it a stunt mobility scooter as it has 3 wheels, the cart behind it gives me ideas for a range extender, but it being a 3 wheeler might make it more dangerous with a cart behind it.

Bro, im not a professional, but i think your controller will die soon. Also Temperature of motor dont measure outside, because coils is deep inside motor, outside is magnets, and temperature has poor transfer between stator and rotor. You need temperature sensor inside. And you need at least 72v 25a battery if you use high current cells (3c peak) or 50a if you use standart cells (1.5c peak) to pull 5kW, or it will decrease lifetime. Also its a very dumb idea, because motor target is 1500w or 2500-3000w peak. Greater power you push less power you get, because coils heating consumes more and more power. coils just not designed for that. Finally that much power just nobody use with any voltage lower, than 72v. Because more current = more heat, so instead of increasing current you should increase voltage to keep the same level of power (P=U*I). Voltage drop on motor coils, that means heat, is Udrop=I*R. Resistance of coils you cant change, so the only way is decreasing amps. By the way the same reason we have 25kV electric transfer lines, instead of 230V (at least in russia).
Thats a 1000w kit... 1500 watt kits pull 45 amps
80A through 12 mosfets... that controller is not going to make it :D
On the engwe x26 bike … your opinion on simple upgrade to 50mph bike?…. Basically a typical rear 750watt with weak controller…main goal is better response on throttle. Am I better off replacing controller or fusing it like you did?….thanks
Man you're probably gonna blow up the mosfets if they can't handle the current. Have you even checked the mosfet's datasheets?

The reason for it being hotter is that the bro will be running flat out top power instead of the less draw of your bike to achieve the same outcome making the less powerful bike straining and your product cruising more gently

Following your advice for the controller I made it to pull 130A at peak. A bit too much. Not saying I don't like it but my batteries bms are 50A each
All you need to do is buy another controller of giving you that programed voltage and amp use. This is too gung ho of messing with a controller of the BMS chip already set of the ranges it needs to keep from the worst scenario of fires and reasons why so many fires out there of user not going to admit to investigators they messed with settings from being fined, sued, thrown in jail if other lives effected from such possible cases.
Dont you have to reprogram the BMS Chip when messing with controller? Its for the range settings of the battery recharge of keeping the settings in range of actual original programing of BMS chip. This is a serious case of a future burnout or fire when charging and even seen on fire when in use of riding. Im all for upgrading but when you mess with controller to bypass voltage and amp settings, you are an accident waiting to happen. But if you ensure you are able to have the BMS chip settings changed of the cutoff power ( when temp gets certain temp of too hot, the BMS chip will cut off everything from being on fire. I dont think this is a legit DIY project if you not dealing with reprogramming BMS chip for it is the reason the BMS Chip is there, but good luck as the days go by along with usage of not having something break down, burned out, or worst on fire.
