I swapped my emblem when it went missing (not sure how) with one from eBay and had this same warning message. I watched this video and tried cleaning the sensor and back of the emblem and was able to get rid of the warning. So it may be worth trying before you purchase a second emblem.

I’ve been looking for a solution for a while, Thank you!

In the video Do you mean that we need to replace the current “trailer brake output” and the control module? Or are you saying that the factory never added the brake control?

This is right and wrong at the same time. For the cat 02’s would be the computer that monitors the emissions when the car goes through the cold start cycles (the toxins before the car warms up). In order to bypass it you must complete the cycles atleast 15 times for the reading to show meaning you have to allow the car to idle until it “gets hot” and then turn it off and let the temperatures drop below 50 and keep redoing it until your # of warm ups since the DTC was cleared reaches 15. Super easy to monitor with the Ancel BM700 OBD tool as it shows the engine temperatures and # of starts that the smog check place will also go by. Just takes a bit of time and patience as you will ONLY get a new warm up count if the car is started under the operating temperature (50). I’m so ready to get this smog over with and this is the last tedious step.

Same issue.2019 Toyota Tundra. My battery was almost 5 years old so I changed it and the issue went away. Try a new battery before you tear your truck apart. Just sayin'.

Sometimes it could be just the Serpentine Belt problem. I had a similar problem with my 2016 Mazda CX-3 as I got the Charging System Malfunction warning, which turned out to be a problem with my Serpentine Belt.

I have a 2018 tundra sr5 with the trailer brake instaled from factory and have the same issue, I went to the dealership and wanted 900$ to fix it and didn’t said what was the problem…. I want to understand what is causing this. But no clue

Weirdest shit happened to me,replaced everything...ran fine for a few weeks then everything went to shit again,took it to 2 shops and they kept trying to overcharge me for a new alternator!! Me being me,I dove into my car to really check out what could be wrong...turns out it was in my face the whole time,my 2 main fusible links blew 🙄

MY FIX* Lights came on a couple days after i had tires put on. Turned out to be a front speed sensor wire had frayed. Techs must have broke tab off and it dangled. Of all things to cause all these lights. Fixed wire took for a short test drive and they cleared on their own. Hope this helps some of you narrow it down.

Hi I have a 2018 Toyota RAV4 that was hit when parked and lifted on to sidewalk and knocked over a parking sign the mechanical damage was 2 front struts and the spindle. The collision shop replaced the two headlights, front bumper left and right fenders and back bumper. It drives perfectly but 1 week later the lane departure and Precollision warnings came up on dashboard what do you suggest I do to get it fixed? I checked and sensor cables are connected. It drives perfectly fine haven't taken a highway yet until i get it fixed. Could you please advise me i have to get emmissions inspection before end of June and I don't think I'll pass. Should i go to Toyota or look for a specific mechanic that can help me because out of all the information online you were determined to find the right solution. I live in NY. Thank you.

Almost correct. Do this for five minutes. Then turn on air conditioning, lights, high beam to cheat load for five minutes. Then take out of gear but leave electric load on.p for five minutes. Then you are done. DO NOT TOUCH THE THROTTLE AT ANY TIME WHEN DOING THIS RELEARN

Thanks for watching to simplify everything. Toyota have a list of options that you can pay to have added on your car at time of purchase. Trailer brake is one of them. On cars such as BMW when you don’t choose an option you basically can’t just add a controller and have the option at a cheaper cost. You will need to purchase the module and the controller and have it programmed if you wish to add a new feature to your car after purchase. On these tundras if you didn’t choose the trailer brake feature, all you have to do is purchase the controller and now you have it. The reason for that is because the car will still have the module and harness for the trailer brake assist. This can cause many issues because you can’t have a system on a car partially it’s either all there or not. So what i did is that i added the brake controller by doing that I added the missing component required to complete the circuit. This fixed it and the car has been driving for over a year without any issues. This might not fix your car because every car is different, you might’ve hit a deer or a bird and now you have an issue with your adaptive cruise could be many reasons. This is free information.

I have a n55 135i that was making roughly that same noise -- but only when revving the engine or giving it gas. Thought it was an exhaust leak, and then the dreaded rod knock -- but after seeing this I decided to disconnect injector #1 (which had also had some misfire codes) and voila, no more knocking. I isolated it to injector #1 by disconnecting #2, and reconnecting #1 --the sound came back. What was the ultimate fix though? was the head warped from all that banging around, or did it just need a new teflon seal and/or reseating/snugging down? Again, thanks for posting your video, you saved me many sleepless nights filled with nightmares of dead engines (rod knock) and existential dread.

Unplugged the battery is just resting but 2 hour later light came back on
