      Well, I'm pretty sure you rwo didn't come to the Philippines to seek fame and fortune. Right? You just happened to come online to inform others about life in the Philippines according to your perspective. The number of subscribers you have will be the main factor determining how successful you really are. As long as you have fun with your vlogg and can make some mad money with at it at the same time, kudos to both of you. But, don't become a slave to UA-cam and let its crazy stats control your lives to the point you forget your real purpose for coming to the Philippines. I really love watching you two. The tremendous chemistry going on between you two is so delightful and interesting to watch. In a lot of videos where I've watched married couples participating together, the husband usually dominates the conversation, but that is certainly not the case with you two. That's really what makes your videos very unique. In some cases the husband has his videos and the wife has her videos. I guess that gives each spouse an opportunity to have an income of their very own. Each one would cater to a different set of subscribers. Please don't ever let that magic you have together slip away. Anyway, you two will always have my most sincerest support.😃 Thank you for sharing!😃 B😃B

Like Hollywood said, keep one in the can. Meaning, don't put them out immediately, but hold back one or two videos and build off of each. Unless they are time sensitive. Love watching you guys. We have homes in the Philippines but live in Las Vegas as well. I watched your first time voting video and was astonished that you voted for an obvious racist (Trump) being an immigrant yourself. Sadly many immigrants once they get citizenship “pull the gang plank after they’ve crossed onto the boat. I won’t be supporting this channel ever again. My children deserve better than the beliefs you support.

    You don’t need someone to clean your house and with a washing machine you can safe money too. In the west we do this all by ourselves unless you are well off. Of there are months you need more money because of illness and what ever . You are doing fine.

    • @phbornusnaturalized2342
      @phbornusnaturalized2342 3 дні тому

      Hey Evelin, you are correct we don’t need help cleaning and we could do our own laundry. But help makes our life easier for only about $40 a month and it provides income to a young person who uses that money to aid her family and care for her school needs even though to us it’s a small amount. And for laundry we would have to buy a western style machine to clean and that is very expensive here. Jes does clean the unmentionables but for a small amount of money the rest is cleaned for less than $30 a month. So thank you for your comment we are fine as you said and grateful to be able to enjoy God’s blessings.

    This is not a judgement on anyone, simply a comment about my own situation. My wife and I own 3 residential properties and 3 commercial properties. We bought our first property prior to relocating to the Philippines from HK. We live in one and we rent out the others. They have increased in value quite significantly over the past 4 years, primarily due to our location. We live in Rizal Province, which is maybe 1.5-2hrs max from Manila. During the Covid crisis there was a huge influx of people from Manila, recognising that where we live there is little pollution, relatively clean air and cheaper living costs. This 'migration' pushed the prices of property up - around 80% on top of what we paid. Our income is around PP150,000 pcm, but that is in pesos so we aren't affected by exchange rates. We have a USD account but that is only used for trips overseas and not for our day-to-day expenses.

      Dear Frank you need to take a trip here, for a month or so and get your feet wet. You could live very well on your 1500/mo but something you hadn’t thought of would make it unsuitable for you. If you want healthcare it is very expensive for anyone over 60 and near impossible for over 65. By yourself is difficult even though English is understood just about everywhere communication back can be frustrating and lead to misunderstandings. It is a foreign country so becoming acclimated can be difficult without help. Yes there are two of us. Your plan seems sound financially just not sure of the rest. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@phbornusnaturalized2342 Thank you so very much for an honest answer. Perhaps the lack of health insurance is the ''deal breaker'' for me - as I'm 74. -- Help from a group of expats in the area I would be in - is available to "soften the landing" and everyone helps each other. They are well established with local Dr's lawyers drivers electricians carpenters....everything needed these past 7 years. - I'd simply be a "new member" of the group to the locals. They have "watchers" - members of the group - for each other - to aid if in the hospital for example.... House cleaners cooks drivers...... all already vetted for us new guys. ---- My only concern is medical. I have no plans to live forever - so I am prepared to exit at any time. Uncertain of what might be needed to exit this world pain free (?) should the time come - that I couldn't perhaps afford expensive efforts to continue on ? 🤔 Some savings but not nearly enough for unlimited fruitless efforts ? -- In effect it would be my last "adventure" and I believe I would love it - mostly !

      Well if you stay mobile and relatively pain free, you could really enjoy it since you will have a good support group. Pain free death? No sure how that works, I’m trusting God to work out the details on that trip, I’m looking forward to my new home with Him after but not in a hurry to make that trip. Thanks for your comments let me know what you do and if you come how you like it.

    Thank you for a very interesting video. I assumed that health insurance would be for catastrophic events such as car accident, heart attack or stroke and that I would pay as I go for everything else. If I didn’t have insurance approximately how much in savings would I need to cover a serious event (assuming I couldn’t fly back to Canada). Thanks again for your helpful video.

      @phbornusnaturalized2342 3 дні тому

      Hello Paul, sorry, I really can’t predict how much you’re going to need if something dire happens. You just have to assess what your risk level is and make decisions based on that. In our case we don’t save a ton of money if something serious happens our hope is to be able to go back to the states for treatment. But that’s not always an option so we might just get stuck here and die. We’re gonna die eventually. Anyway, we can’t plan for every eventuality. So we do the best we can, and trust God to take care of the rest. I hope that somewhat of a help

    Have you considered using some solar for lights , fans TV , router , computer and other low power items …… I’m not talking about solar panels to run the house …. I’m talking about solar generators ….. I have them placed around our house in the U.S. I take the units outside and connect them up to portable solar panels during the daytime to charge the units …… for a few hours in the morning . Our power company has doubled the electric bill over the past 2 years . The solar generators have saved us quite a bit of money in our electric bills ….. Solar fans and solar lights are not expensive and can be easily installed on your own ….. we started with small solar generators and slowly worked our way up to larger and more powerful solar generators ….. over time …. We were able to run a 54 quart refrigerator/freezer ….. all of our lights , TV’s , internet , communication radios , fans , portable air conditioner , outside lights and kitchen appliances on solar . It has cut our electric bills by 2 thirds ….. We have an apartment also in Colombia 🇨🇴 that will be doing the same ….. mostly because like there in the Philippines …. Electric often goes out …… a common thing in Colombia . Even a few small 300 watt solar units can help cut some off your electric bills down . With practice . Just something to think about ….. just a suggestion . Don’t go looking to put panels to run your whole house ….. that could be very pricey . Anyway , great video …. I do plan on coming to the Philippines one day to visit my daughter there … I always loved the Philippines and am looking forward to retirement there one day . There are a lot of solidarities between the Philippines and Colombia ….. so I can adjust to the lifestyle very easily there . My daughter liver Dumaguete and runs our Sari Sari store all on Solar to keep costs down . It’s free energy …. It’s already paid for itself and works well . Ok , Take care and God Bless both of you .

    This video is a lil odd because its making it seem like the dollar has crashed vs the peso. 48:-50 PhP for 1 Dollar is par for the course so today the US Dollar is still up at 55:1. For the last 3 years I have seen the exchange rise in the favor of the Dollar from 48 - 58. Lately its down to 55 but it is estimated to rise as high as 60:1 by December and 2025 potentially as high as 65. So, its not so much as the peso breaking the dollar as much as its just simple inflation. Price of rice may not come down but in general electricity does go up and down depending on the year. You folks will be fine as the end of the year approaches.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. We do mention that the effect is not all that dramatic. And we have enjoyed the last few years of stronger dollar, it’s still a surprise when it falls even a little. Hopefully you are correct and it will gain it back and more.

      Thank you for a very helpful video. What do you think is a reasonable budget range (beyond the basic, all in) for a couple with no children including medical and health insurance for catastrophic events such as accident, stroke, heart attack. Thanks again 😊

    • @phbornusnaturalized2342
      @phbornusnaturalized2342 3 дні тому

      Hey Paul reasonable really depends on your comfort level. You can live well here on 1200-1500 a month. We have a video on the channel with insurance quotes, and contact info for the agent who works. Exclusively in this part of the world. (We are not compensated for this mention I just found him a reasonable person) It is very hard and expensive to get health insurance of any kind over 60, and almost impossible above 65. So that will cost you a lot. We are self pay until something dramatic comes up then we will have to consider returning to the US. Hope that helps

    Electricity is charged at different hours. There are peak electricity demand hours that usually 9am - 7pm. These are hours when everyone is using electricity. The power company has to buy power from Peaker Plants. Peaker plants can sometimes charge 10x. The costs is passed down to consumers. Here in the US it is the same. I do laundry during the night. During the summer months here in Las Vegas, the air conditioner is on sometimes 24 hrs. my Bill during the summer is 400-600usd per month. In the winter that goes way down to 60-90usd per month.

      Interesting but i haven’t seen anything on their site that says rates are based on demand, but you may be correct. Very difficult to predict costs regardless.
