Put em on my brother lets see the look and fit
Haha I’ll do a separate video in the future talking about the fit!
These were an impulse buy for me and they ended up being one of my fav pairs. I’m not a black boot guy but these are a great only pain of black boots. Btw these are pretty much 10” Whites Farmer/Ranchers with a less pronounced packer heel instead of a logger heel. I do wish they were 8” high though.
I enjoy the ten inch height, I think it makes them feel very substantial. If the size were to shrink I think I’d want a slightly smaller heel to compensate. I actually have the opposite impulse where I find it easier to wear black boots so these are perfect for me. Now I just need a pair of brown boots😂
Ive been wearing mine as much as possible and still no teacore colors yet either lol.
Yeah I think they are going to be slow faders!
Those pants are cool! Would you ever get a third pair?
Haha no way!
Great video! Thanks Caleb, I’ve been needing to fix the crease on one of my hats for a while now.
Thanks I hope I turns out well
The belt is insane beautiful where you get it brother ?!
A vintage buckle and a herman oak veg tan blank for the belt
Those pants are interesting but kinda expensive
Yeah that’s fair, to each their own. If you don’t care about the special details it isn’t worth spending the extra money for sure.
Perfect timing. I just picked up a pair from S&S the other week. Can’t wait to get some wear out of ‘em.
Awesome I hope you enjoy!
3 years ago Bronson had one that was better (80% wool blanket, with almost the original pattern).
Dang I would have love to get my hands on that!
@@calebgascaI have one, what is your size?
It seems we share similar feet shapes (paddle feet that is) I had similar issues with sizing. I had ordered a 9 EE based off of the chart and my measurements. It did fit as expected in the length and ball of the foot but the toe box was narrow and crushed my feet during break in (especially my small toe) after break in the toebox (which is luckily tall) shaped out and became wider, I still cant wear thick socks without it being tight but my big toe has plenty of room and no longer have pressure. I will likely have to order 9 F or 9.5 EE in the future if i want a better fit, the waist of the boot, were the arch is, is actually too narrow and my feet lay past the side of the insole, this along with arch break in caused some issues for me that are still present. I wear them to work (Its not a hard working job but i do move and load heavy items regularly) and have had some color change in the leather still subtle though. Hope you continue uploading regularly ill keep an eye out since your stuff seems good!
Yeah these seem to be a difficult fit if you are a wider foot
@@calebgasca it has widened with wear so it fits mostly now but when i need a resole i might pay the extra to get it rebuilt a size wider. they are definitely worth that investment to me.
@@fistofice you could also look at having it rebuilt on their Munson last which I might do
@@calebgasca I do like the idea of having a munson lasted boot but I do like the look of the 4911 on the Drifter. if you do get a munson based boot id like to see how it works out as far as fit.
@@fistofice yeah if that happens I’ll make a video on it for sure. I’m trying not to buy anything big for the rest of the year so it likely won’t be very soon. But keep an eye out just in case!😂
which size is it?
10.5 EEE
I don’t know why Whites doesn’t advertise it but they have a munson last. It’s called the 9338 or #38 swing last. It’s much more comfortable than the 55 or 4811.
Bro what the heck I had no clue, that would be nice to know in the future😂
@@calebgasca Yeah I guess they don’t push it because it’s not as aesthetically pleasing as the other lasts but I just got a pair and they are amazing.
@@righturnclyde thanks for letting me know! I’ll have to check them out in the future 100% Anatomical lasts are only getting more popular based on what I can tell. Especially as the barefoot movement continues I think people will have less tolerance for messing up their feet for fashion
One rule of thumb I go with is never go full costume. If I wear a snap button shirt I’ll wear boat shoes with it. Never my cowboy boots. Plaid shirts and boots make me feel like a farmer. I just mash it all up so I dont feel like anything other than myself.
I don’t think I could ever wear boat shoes 🤮 Haha, but in all seriousness I think that’s a fair thought. Personally I don’t really care I love wearing a pearl snap with a cowboy hat and my packer boots. Makes me feel like a cool guy in a movie.
There’s no such thing as a perfect boot, or anything really. You paid what you paid. Cry once and just enjoy them for what they are….yours! Also, comfort is priceless.
Yeah at this point I’m well over it, I’ve learned my lesson and the goal is to not repeat the same mistake!
try to 55 last sometime, i think its wider
I’m pretty sure it’s more narrow, at least that’s now Weston made it seem when explaining the design
@@calebgasca its not! it curves more
I'm gonna buy the nd4 hope it looks cool
Those are a little too hardcore for me personally but they are pretty cool
i am 5'7 what size would you recommend for t-shirts?
Idk I can’t see what you look like😂 I’d measure your best fitting tshirt and buy the same shoulder size
nice to see your videos again! man those look good, i really cant believe how good he is in collaborations, red version of that boot is one of my favorite boots. im also taking fit more and more serious as im longer in to boots, in my case B width with big toe splay. im thinking to go for a pair of Thruman Nicks tankers
Yeah that Thurman last seems like it solves the problems that a lot of guys have with the pnw lasts. If they were anatomical it wouldn’t be necessary to get so wide of a size often times I think. That first pair is great too, honestly I wish I had bought them at the time. I’ve thought about trying my best to recreate them but using the Thurman last at nicks. I wish that had a similar color red leather.
I got the D width and they squish my toes. Also, the big heel is not cushiony AT ALL, but overall they are black boots that look like combat packer boots?
Yeah, I have no real use for the pocket kit whatsoever.
Mine came quick, too, but then they wouldn't prioritize any rebuilds or whatever.
Allen Edmonds shoe trees fit unbelievably well when my other usual ones wouldn't go down the narrow toes at all. Happy accident there, mostly. I guess if you WANT the toe to collapse, this will be useless info.
Nick's is a little less expensive for packer boots and they have tan color that I might like to get someday, but the stock model the quick ship or something is maybe the safer bet when curious about sizing issues, etc. Not sure if their wait times are better overall, but maybe. I like brown more than black, tho, so...
The square-toe cowboy boots might be more comfortable for all day work, but they are not stylish at all. I can't seem to find many that I like the look lately, and I don't like wearing them much in hot weather, either. These maybe people would also find a bit warm BUT at least they could be worn with shorts and not look as dorky as taller riding boots AND as much as I don't like walking in riding boots, walking in these is a smidge more natural or something. But they DO bite in that foreleg pinch area.
How long is shipping time?
Umm I don’t remember but not egregiously long
I have the MP’s and the 2.0 which sounds great but the 2.0’s have made me not like the MP’s because of the celastic toe so now I will only buy unstructured toes lol
Yes! I totally agree, even if I bought a pair of boots with a toe cap, I would still want them to be unstructured. With the exception of boots like the Viberg 310s and the kreosote boots which are all intended to have large chiseled structured toes, I think it’s almost always better to have unstructured because it’s more natural and ages much better.
Never stop uploading
Anything for you

Thanks jitliang
Love to see it. Keep making more vids.
Thanks! Will do!
dude 20 minutes of some boot talk, awesome
Haha, I’m glad you enjoyed!
Interesting insights on the boots!
Thank you! I’m glad you think so!
The grey shirt you try on at the end with the tight collar, which one is that on their website?
I think it’s the 9 oz t shirt
Don’t do this use a kettle the steam will heat hat so you can shape
Yea I tried this again recently with the kettle method instead and it was much better
this is why Alden never fix their quality control. you have very low expectations for 1000 dollar boots WTF. return them.
By the time I noticed the flaw they were already worn
Why you say $1000 boots I bought mine in San Francisco’s for $575 ?
The shel cordovan model is much more expensive
Just use black shoe polish, covers up any natty leather
If I had kept these I wouldn’t have re-dyed them I personally really like when the brown undertones show through
Theres a brand in Asia called Luos Jiet that makes an exact replica of the alden indy for like $300 using the same materials.. not the shell Cordovan versions tho
I saw that recently, I am for sure interested in trying them out!
Alden are made in USA represent high cost on labor for sure in another country you can have cheap labor and also better leather quality no doubt about it
Yeah it’s just unfortunate that quality per Dollar Alden still has a hard time competing with other American boot company’s as well
leather looks differant
Different from what? Other boots or the individual panels?
what jeans are you wearing here bro?
Wrangler 13mwz
Ridiculous 😂😂😂
What is?
@@calebgasca your outfit, dude. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Kinda trying too hard.
@@bloatedsodium7301 what about it is trying too hard? Boots jeans and a shirt with a hat is pretty lowkey
How well do you think I can get century denim hemmed? You think the sashiko would be an impediment to hemming?
I had my first pair hemmed by a local tailor no problem. A professional tailor though not a dry cleaner type tailor. It wasn’t a chain stitch hem but it worked
Why you didnt expalin each model as mentioned in the beginning?
Pretty sure I explain all the fits and colors which is all there is to say
If im a 33W . Should I go with 36 or a 34? I do like a relaxed fit.
36 100%
@@calebgasca Thank you.
Hi there! I've just gotten a pair myself a few weeks back and have not worn them. Do you think I should throw them in the washing machine under a normal cycle to get all the shrinkage out of the way? Cos im intending to hem them as well, but dont wanna do it before i am sure that the pants will not shrink further. What's your advice?
You could do that, I haven’t machine washed them so I can’t give any insight as far as that goes
@calebgasca Thanks for getting back to me! I dont suppose that throwing it in the washer will damage the denim in any way, right? Did the inseam come right for you out of the package? Or have you got them hemmed?
@@MrMrFUZZYEYEBROWS for me the hem was perfect so I haven’t needed to get any work done on them. The dye does wash out over time so I’ve preferred not to wash them in the machine
Is there a store in Japan which carries Black Sign that will ship to the USA?
You can special order any of their catalogue from standard and strange. Or you can buy what they stock
I have a Bronson deck jacket, I love it ! One of my favourite jackets ,quality and attention to detail.
I’ve been thinking about a deck jacket but I’ve heard they tend to be cut pretty long. Plus there’s not much need for a jacket that warm in SoCal
Bro do you need a bigger belt buckle I got you
I do have a couple larger belt buckles but I go back and forth
Much more expensive now. They are asking $880 (granted it's almost 2 years later)
Wow that’s crazy, I don’t think I’d be willing to pay that much for them personally.
Hi Caleb, what proxy service did you use to get these? I would love to know thank you!
Cojpgallery on instagram
@@calebgasca Thank you!
man i love bronson mfg, does anyone know any brands that simulate the old 50s, 60s type of wear in the same way as bronson?
Real McCoys and black sign do buy with some much more expensive products. Buzz rickson also does with a focus on militaria in a more middle of the road price range
I'm in the sunny south. I avoid black boots because they get pretty warm in summer sun. I got a pair of rough-out tan tankers from Corcoran a few years back and like them quite a bit.
I have to say that honestly among the other impractical items I wear during the summer I can’t notice a huge difference between black boots and lighter colored boots. Throughout most of the summer I’m wearing long sleeves pants and boots anyways. When I need freedom from the hot sun I usually end up just breaking down and wearing shorts and sandals to give my nervous system a break from the heat.
Awesome boots
Thanks!
I'm picking this one up soon! Hopefully this week
Hope you enjoy it!
The wedge sole is a good choice. Looks good.
Thank you! It’s much better for my lifestyle as well
Very cool boot. I think back in the day I would've minded the toe stiffener issue there, but honestly it looks 100% fine to my eye. If anything, it gives more character (not an excuse for Alden, I've always wanted them to up their game). Consider it wabi sabi - there's beauty in the imperfections. I have a pair of Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill shell cordovan boots, really hard to beat that #8 shell color. I beat them up hard on and off a bicycle. Even with minor cuts, using either Saphir glossy wax or Alden's color 8 wax polish blends them in really well and give them a better vibe.
I agree that the issues are so bad to inhibit the enjoyment of the boots. Although I’d at least prefer them to be symmetrical. If they both had toe stiffeners that were a bit too tall then at least when I looked down at my feet, each one would look the same. The asymmetry is probably the part that bothers me, the most to be honest.
